Hi team! 💜 Apologies about the drop in quality for some of the Timelapse portions; my camera orientation changed during filming and flipping the footage made it somewhat pixelated 🤦♀️ hope you still enjoyed the video for the general ideas though! 😄💜
I love using my crayola markers in my bujo! Especially the Colors of the World Collection. And bujos do NOT have to be works of art. Make something you like and roll with it!!!
Exactly, you do you 👏 always makes me sad when people say, they can’t bullet journal because they’re not artistic; you certainly don’t have to be, but if you want things to be decorative, but can’t draw, we have solutions for that too! 🥳💜
The monthly challenges are a great idea. There is actually a book written about something similar, it's called the Happiness project, in it the author challenges herself every month to incorporate 1 challenge that she believes will bring her closer to happiness (socializing, exercise, spiritual, etc) and in the last month of the year she tried incorporating everything she had learned and practiced throughout the year to her lifestyle.
Heyyy I actually have that book! (That’s a big deal cause I literally only have like 12 books 😛) haven’t read it yet but I’m a bit more inclined to now! 💪
@@JashiiCorrin The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin is one of my all-time favorite books! I’ve read almost all of her other books as well and (given what I know about you from this channel) I think you’d really like her writing, the way she approaches things, and the books themselves. Definitely start with The Happiness Project! Such a fun and interesting book! 💜
You have a video for everything and I highly appreciate it. ❤
Haha thanks! 😄💜 hope you liked this one! 💪
LOVE a good budget option 👏❤👍
Always good to have options 💪💜
Oooo i would have made the stuck together first page a pocket for rulers and such.
Would have been a good use for it, yeah! 😄💜
Could you do this in a composition notebook please?!?! 😭😭😭😍😍😍🙀🙀🙀💕💕👍👍
Lol! Everything I hear or see "cheap" I remember my grandmother saying "never say 'cheap' say inexpensive." I used to think well I'll never be able to spell that. I really like the dashed third lines too.
Thanks! 😄 yeah I went with the term cheap as I thought it would be more commonly used 😝
This is the time I've been waiting for. All those pretty papers and envelopes I've been collecting for a "future project" has a purpouse now xD
Yessss! 😈 use them! 🥳
You know I just love your channel. Anytime I need to explore a set up or draw it out, or get an idea or see what I may like or need in my notebook, I just go to your channel. Thank you for all your creativity.
Thanks Mary! It’s great to hear you find the content useful 😄💜
I really love the minimalist style on this one.
Thanks! 😄💜 I thought it turned out well 💪
Love this! When I first started journaling/planning in the same book I did bujo's and I used "cheaper" supplies to see what worked/didn't. Looking back over the years it is one of my favorites! It always makes me want to use a bujo instead of my Hobonichi and that's saying something haha!
I totally feel you 👏 I love looking back at my old journals and even though not all they layouts were winners, it’s great to see why I stuck with it 😄💜
I started with a pen, a lined notebook and a metric shit ton of post its! I gradually started making daily and then weekly set ups. Then I found your channel and, well, I was off and running. Bought too much stuff and then figured out what I liked and didn't. A little backwards but I will use all that crappy washi for something. lol I have found, like the super tips, some cheap stuff works great and some expensive stuff is overrated. Live and learn.
Crappy washi for masking and making straight lines is my go-to 😏 just don’t tell the RUclips masses because they will yell at me again 😝 lol, apologies if I was a catalyst in any regretful purchases! 👏
@@JashiiCorrin Your secret is safe with me! Unfortunately, with more viewers comes the yelly ones as well as great ones. No apology necessary. You didn't sway me on anything but Tombow dual brush pens and I thank you for that! I fully own up to all my purchases! 💜
Love your video's! Posting so many videos and setting up so many journals, great work!
*Meanwhile me:
Day 341: Still too anxious to write a single letter to start setting up my 2023 journal.
Start with a pencil! I always do, haha 😂 really helps to build up my confidence in working in the new notebook before I commit to putting the pen to paper 💪
My first bullet journal was a cheap note book I bought at Walmart for another project. It had lined paper. I ripped out the couple of pages I had used and went to work on it with whatever supplies I could find around the house. Now I buy nicer note books and have collected nice supplies but you might as well test out whether bullet journaling is your thing before you invest.
100% about that 💪 it’s a nice way to drip your toe in and test out the system before you invest in a whole bunch of supplies 😄💜
I'm hooked to your channel!!!
Aww thank-you! Glad you enjoy it 💜😄
I have the same journal from kmart and it's been working well. I have only started bullet journaling in November after being inpired by watching youthank you. Love you videos. 💙
Aww awesome that you're just getting into it! I was surprised by how well the Kmart journal held up 💪💜
The journal I purchased to try out bullet journaling is only 100gsm and pretty much everything I use besides pencils ghosts at least a little bit. So I’ve stuck to microns and highlighters to decorate. But I recently purchased an Archer & Olive journal during their Black Friday sale and I’m excited to see the difference and hopefully get a little more artistic with my spreads 😊
I just got my first A&O, and, wow, those pages are thiccc. My first bujo is a Leuchtturm with 80gsm, and it was so disappointing. I only needed it to stand up to gel rollerballs, but it ghosts horribly. It's not just unattractive, it's actually harder to read. I can't believe it was a $30 notebook, plus I had to pay $7 more for the pen loop! I had heard they were good notebooks for fountain pens and assumed they would all have thick pages. Welp. I was wrong. I started laying out my A&O last week, and I couldn't be more pleased with the opacity. It only cost around $8 more ($1 more if you factor in the pen loop) and I'm happy to pay that for a planner, especially since I don't buy any decoration supplies. I only need a month layout stencil and white-out tape and my favorite pens.
@@clarewhite3004 I’m glad to hear that your A&O journal lived up to the hype! I haven’t opened mine yet, but your glowing review is encouraging and makes me more excited! I bought two more cheaper brand ones through Amazon with 120gsm to make journals for my hubby and oldest son for the holidays, hopefully they will like and use them 🤞
Yeah I find that as soon as you’re doing any kind of decoration (that’s pen or ink or paint based) in your journal, I MUCH prefer the thicker 160 gsm pages 💪 I like LT1917 for when I’m JUST doing writing (I like the “used” look of it) but for my regular more decorative bullet journaling, I like thicker paper better 💜
*camera chose violence *😂😂😂. Great video, still! This is a good reminder also not to get caught up in all the beauty and wonder of time-lapse because I start thinking I am an organized small business owner who can paint and draw in 11 minutes and do calligraphy LOL. My journal may look look like a 4 year old created it, but it's MINE and it's fun to do😅😄🏆
Heck yeah, it’s yours and it’s fun to do 💪 Glad you liked the video still! 😄💜
I am currently using that exact journal right now, and the thinness of the paper annoyed me so much I stuck every other page together. I only say this because sometimes buying cheaper is not actually budget friendly. Spending the money on a good quality journal will let you enjoy the process much more and let you use a wider range of pens and marker. And you can get good quality journals for around $30 Aussie dollars. I do love that you are looking at budget friendly journalling ideas.
Can totally understand the sticking pages together thing! That’s what I ended up doing in my LT 1917, when I started using it as an R&D bujo 😛 that one was sucky though because obviously it’s a little bit more expensive than the Kmart one 😝 I think it also very much comes down to personal preference, for example, I wouldn’t mind using this type of journal for notetaking because I quite like the used look of the pages when I’m just writing things, but for my more decorative set ups, I would much prefer to have thicker paper 💪
These are the types of videos I wish were more prevalent when I was first starting out in 2019. So glad to see more basics available to people just discovering the system (and people who want good, simple layouts!) Thanks always Jess
Most welcome! Thought it would be valuable to share 😄💜
10:26 A tentative list and I must use erasable pen or pencil.
like a future log, but not. when it's approx and details are lacking, etc..., more definite than maybe.
I love following you journal setup lately, just asking.. Do you have any video about reading journal setup? Thank you in advance 🤍✨
I don’t have a reading journal setup (mainly cause the notebook that is going to be my “reading journal” is really just for learning notes 😝) but I do have a video coming out later this week about reading challenges to put in a reading journal if that helps! 😄💜
Hi I was wondering if you could make a video on how to setup a bullet journal for a counselor or therapist. I want to make one for my counselor but I do not know what to add. I was also wondering if you could do a video on bullet journal spreads that are most helpful for online students.
Also I love your videos!
“My camera woke up and chose violence.” 😂😂😂
😆
Haha 😂 I was wondering if anyone would read that lil message
This is brilliant! So simple and just lovely! Excellent work as always!
Thanks! 😄💜
I love this! Sometimes we don't have the money for an Archer & Olive (which I would love) and all we have is for an Amazon journal. That's my case. So thanks for the ideas!
Most welcome, Joan! I thought this one was valuable to put out for that reason even if the footage got a lil janky 😝💜
My first Bujo was in a cheap spiralbound lined notebook. You can definitely use cheap supplies! But now I'm spoiled by Archer and Olive notebooks and don't want to go back. :P
Haha I feel you 👏 it’s very much the case of “Yes sure I could do it, but I don’t want to 😝”
Jashii you genius! 24 before 2024! Have been struggling to setup the layout of 23 in 2023! You’ve given me the perfect solution ❤
Aww yay! It’s such a nicer number than 23 😝💜
I love the crayola markers. I bought a set of tombows and I don’t get the hype. 😅 Maybe I just don’t know how to use them
I was wondering if you could show some spreads for work. Like when one has to set reminders to check on clients in the future.
Hello from British Columbia Canada
🇨🇦🖐👍♥️🛣🚐🚐🚐☃️❄🎅❄☃️🌲🧘♀️🌲✍
I devided my 23 in 23 in Collums of 8, 7, 8 and the middle (7) collum is shifted one row down. This looks pretty nice to me ^^
Sounds like a good way to do it, much better planning than what I did in Vogel's journal 😂💜
@@JashiiCorrin Took me a while to come up with haha
Well done! I liked using the Kraft paper to keep from ink bleed! Great ideas!
Thanks Jenn! I thought it was a good trick 😄💜
Thank you for the video! I don't know if you already have something out or planned on this, but would you be able to do a video on a reference bullet journal and things that would be helpful to have in it. For 2023, i plan to set up a regular one-year bullet journal, a long term collections journal and a reference journal (like for emergency contacts, etc.)
Oh that's a cool idea! I don't have anything planned for that at the moment, but I'll put it on my list 💪
This is a very nice planner
Thanks! 😄💜
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks! 😄💜
I held my breath as you took those Crayola's to the paper. I won't use them in my dot journal - the same one used here - due to ghosting and occasional bleeding, but your colour choices were on point for minimising that. I also like to add some washi tape across the cover to give each one it's own look and to cover the wording. I really like the '24 before 2024' too and I'm rather envious of your lettering. I know practice is key, but...I don't. 🤷
I was surprised my lettering turned out as well, as it did considering brush lettering, especially with Crayola. Supertips, really isn’t a strong point of mine 😛 but thank-you for your kind words! Admittedly, the Crayola did ghost through in some places, in particular places I ended a stroke, but it was very minimal, because I was careful to only go over anywhere once 💪
Do you draw out your pages on a separate sheet of paper to decide the layout before putting into the journal? So you know how things look, how you want to make them, and you like them, before the pages are made?
Often I'll just sketch things out very lightly on the page (because then once I get to a place I like at least it's already in the journal for me) or I'll sometimes scribble on scrap paper while I'm brainstorming. I also use Excel to map out box sizes for more "complex" layouts at times 😊💜
Love your videos! Where did you get your grid spacing ruler?
I made mine myself! 😄
ruclips.net/video/T3cpq8fPxwk/видео.html I normally just use it for spacing/measuring up layouts while I pencil them in and use a “normal” ruler for actually putting in the pen.
What is different between the goals and the 24 by 2024?
Often I'd fill a 24 be 24 layout with fun things rather than the more "serious" stuff that I'd typically set for goals 😄 of course it's really up to user choice 😋
People have anxiety looking at not perfect bujos. I have anxiety looking at perfect bujos.
Your bujo gives me anxiety
Oh no, I’m sorry! I promise it wasn’t perfect though! We even had to cover a mistake 😅💜
