Nice! I bet that 240 looks awesome! I saw a vid recently of a stryker (far from stock) smoking a vrod on the drag strip. One of the coolest looking strykers I've ever seen. Thanks for watching and commenting! Ride safe!
Hey brother, I'm so glad you mentioned that some people would love to ride and they can't for one reason or another. I can relate because I've owned about 6 bikes in the 90's mostly sport bikes, so I did a lot of crazy riding and scared myself, so I quit riding. Now, 20 years later and I WANT to ride but now I have arthritis in my left knee and can't hold a Vulcan 900 up at a stop light. I looked at the Stryker 1300 and fell in love. It was low enough for me, but I ended up getting a Shadow and I'm riding TODAY. My next bike WILL be the Stryker. - Mike in CA
Nailed it on the no sweet spot between 1st and 2nd. I love to ride around the lake in the Stryker and the 1300cc engine doesn’t like the 20mph speed limit. I feel like it wants you to feed it more! Love the white and black! Great bike.
Great video. I know you were comparing "choppers" but I was wondering if you compared the 1300 Stryker to the 1300 v-star? Very similar platforms, just 1 is chopper, 1 is cruiser. Both liquid cooled, fuel injected, 80 c.i. engines. Thoughts?
How do the Victorys (Hammer/Vegas) compare to the Stryker? Obviously the Victorys are in the top end for size, but do they out perform the Stryker in any sort of massive margin? The Victory transmissions also seem to have a bad rep for being clunky and problematic, the smoothness of the Stryker must make for a much better experience when it comes to shifting
Sweet bike my guy, bought my Stryker in the same color and all but stripped it down and blacked out the bike the day I took it home. Looking forward to warmer weather here
i got the same year and model, but i took mine apart when i trailered it home as a new leftover in 2014-early 2015 and had it sprayed over in black and did a vance and hines twin slash which ive since swapped back to original because them things are way way loud and that was almost four years i had them on there. Anyways what i was getting at is the forward controls yes, for longer rides and me being barely 5'6" i found a trick. My right foot i'll slide my right foot back some and rest the ball of my foot on the peg and heel just over the top of the foot brake master guard piece, and my left foot i'll put the ball of my foot on the peg and heel on the kickstand bolt so it sorta give me something of a mid-ish controls type of feel. I had mid controls on my first bike a Kymco Venox 250cc AKA the Taiwanese Honda Rebel 250 :) and that thing took me literally everywhere :). Ride safe and ride alot mate.
About the feet of the foot pegs. I have the Raider and I thought it was just me. Well I’m glad that you talk about it. It does that to me sometime when going at very high speed. So I guess it’s normal for that model. If I new about the Stryker few years ago I would have never bought the VTX 1300. I would have gone right to the Stryker. Now that I ride the Raider I’m not going down with smaller sizes bike anymore. And I have a park like this in my area but will never dare to ride in there. Cop will be after me, that is for sure.
I have a 2013 Stryker with Vance Hines pipes and a dynojet commander. 1st and 2nd seem to stall or sputter at low RPMs. All else is good and I adjusted to the ride, but any chance you know what it is? Everyone just seems to say have Ivan flash your bike which is expensive and should be unnecessary. Any info would be appreciated. Great video
Awesome Ride . Some Slo-Mo of the kids sailing over the bike would be good too. Definitely worth a $20 spot to the guys for some growlies for doing the footage for you. Stay Safe.
Nice one, great job! I remember first time my 8 year old son got me to try going down biggest skate ramp at the park, which he could do easily since he was seven, of course the board slid out from under me, and I fell on my back hard. So I of course didnt want him to see me quit, so I tried again...same dang result. OMg, he laughed at me forever about that, bout broke my neck, lol. Good times though!
Mine is an all blacked out 2011 Yamaha Stryker 1300 with only 12,000 miles on it that's absolutely flawless and i love it and i only paid $6,000 cash for it. It's super clean, beautiful,it sounds even better and the Chrome on it sets it off and it has the blacked out front wind shield as well and it's just an awesome and fast bike and it's a badass cruiser bike that does what i need it to do and i just love to ride and cruise.🤙🤙🤙
Nice! I think you'll dig the Stryker - it's a super fun bike! The mazdaspeed3 has treated me well. It's bone stock but way funner than any other car that still fits car seats. Lol. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Wheelie, wheelie, wheelie, wheelie. Def not the best for long distance you are exactly right about the foot pegs! Long distance in highway wind pushing your feet and legs is tiring plus the engine vibration, but when u have nothing else to ride it doesnt matter lol. Do you put tags in all the bikes you have even if you are flipping them? Or how do you get to ride them? Im afraid to go to far on the fz8, gotta watch for them blue lights.
Nice video Jon. The Fury comes with optional ABS breaks, while the Stryker and the Raider don't. It can be a deal breaker for a novice rider like me. Which one will you choose between the Fury and the Stryker?
Another great point I hadn't thought of! I plan to do a Stryker vs. Fury video (I've had a few requests for that). I'll be sure to mention the abs. All things considered, I'd probably go with the fury based primarily on ride experience and it fits the traditional chopper look a bit more for me. Both super sweet bikes!
Man this made me miss my Stryker. After owning a raider with full bolt on’s and dyno tune and a Stryker with the same mods. I liked my Stryker better. The raider went to a slipper clutch in 2014 and was horrible .
Started on dirtbikes, then went to Kawasaki Spectre 1100 to a Virago 700. Then went to Harley's. Superglide to a Wideglide to a Road King. Actually thinking of giving up on H-D's and going back to either a Stryker or a Raider, if I can find a good one. I'm 6'2", 230. I'm in my 50's and getting away from long rides due to a bad back but still want to ride around town, maybe a two to four-hour ride. Got burned by H-D dealership last time around so my love of Harley's isn't what it was. Is the length about the same as far as forward controls? I like both and do they still make after market parts for them? If anyone can answer please reply.
That's it! I knew I had heard it somewhere! As always, thx dawg! Or, I mean man's best friend, or I mean motorcycle, or I mean dog. Wait, I'm confused...
I've seen mini windshields, saddle bags, and passenger backrests. You could probably get some kind of floorboards as well to make it more comfortable. Not sure how much those aftermarket goodies cost though.
Ive been considering selling my 06 heritage softail for a yamaha stryker. Only thing holding me back is i bought this harley from my grandpa. I'd love to get a yamaha.
If possible, I'd try to keep the heritage. Sounds like it has some sentimental value. The Stryker isna great bike! Thanks for checking the vid! Ride safe!
The Heritage is a much more “all around” bike - it can bomb around town or go for a multi-day trip. It can comfortably seat two up. As long as you check the cam tensioners the Heritage should last a very long time with basic maintenance.
A couple years ago I looked at a Stryker that had maybe 12,000 to 14,000 miles on it. The belt was already adjusted to almost its maximum. That would be cause for concern.
I'm no expert, but I wonder how much that has to do with the rider/their riding style. I would imagine a more aggressive rider who's always pinning it, shifting hard, down shifting, etc would wear out the belt a bit faster. But definitely an interesting point to consider/investigate. Thanks again for bringing up some good questions.
Heck yeah! You guys were all killing it out there! I need to get myself a scooter and work on that tailwhip air! Hahaha. Thanks again for filming and welcoming a moto into the park. Lol. 😎🤘
Quite a few videos cover whether a 600cc or 1000cc sport bike is suited for a beginner. What do you think about the Stryker or Fury being a beginner bike? Also, I hope you can do a video on the M109 one day.
I think the Stryker or fury would be manageable beginner bikes. Still a bit more bike than is ideal. But in the right hands of someone disciplined, doable imo. Between you and me, theres a chance I may have an m109r sitting kn the garage at the moment. Videos to come. 🤘😎
Hey, I'm a brand new biker looking for my first bike. Went to a showroom and found a 2015 Stryker and I think I'm feeling it. I'm 6 feet tall, shorter legs and longer arms. Just curious if you think that would make it a little easier for sitting back on longer trips?
Curious 4 years later what happened. I am a re-entry rider after 25 years and got a Honda 750, then two weeks later traded it in for a 2014 Yamaha Stryker. I was intimidated at first. Fast Forward 6 months and I got a Honda Elite 250 scooter for grocery getting. I re-learned all my fundamentals on the scooter and now the Stryker is EASY to ride, so my advice is start small, then go for it !
That's a good question. Truth be told I haven't commuted on a motorcycle in years, and don't spend tons of time out on the main roads. Most of my riding these days is in back lots screwing around with wannabe wheelies. Lol. I also haven't ridden in other states in forever, so dont have much to compare it to either. But based on my past experience and the little bit that I do hit the streets, I'd say you have to stick to the basics: defensive riding, assume nobody sees you, etc. There are lots of snowbirds (elder folk who migrate for the winter), but I'd imagine you have that mixture nearly everywhere. I haven't had any major issues thus far. So, in conclusion, I'd say it's not bad. Thanks for watching and commenting! Sorry for not really answering the question. Ha! 😎🤘
The Stryker is the most Harley like Japanese cruiser with it's own style. The Raider is too big. The Stryker is a happy middle weight. About +10 more HP and TQ than a HD Sportster but a M8 will eat it's lunch. Only negatives would be OEM funky exhaust shape, tank has the Japanese seam, lots of plastic parts, and not as much support/aftermarket as an HD bike.
@@rickyellison6572 That is good to hear. What do you mean full Bolt On Stryker? OEM or with some go fast parts? Stryker certainly would be lighter with a very good motor!
Raider had more metal coverings on engine if I recall correctly. The air cooled is something people bring up but I haven't personally experienced the pros or cons sitting in traffic with it, so couldn't speak to that. Thanks for watching and commenting! Great questions!
Noticed you stopped at a QT for gas hahah , I put those in I’m a Petroleum Tech by trade I do all stations but QT is one of the biggest in my area Charlotte NC
Saludos ....tienes una coleccion de motos chingonas pero me gustaria saber tu opinion , de cual es mejor una striker o una fury por que estoy indeciso por alguna de las 2, me gustaria saber tu respuesta gracias.
Nice! Yeah, it's such a minute thing. I just had to come up with something I disliked. hahaha. Good to know I'm not just imagining things. Thanks for watching! Ride safe, my friend!
I have a 2013 with cobra powerflo intake, cobra swepts with custom baffles, and an EJK tuner and it will bury the speedo pretty quickly. Much smoother putting around in 1st, 2nd and 3rd with the EJK tuner.
I have the swepts and fi2000r tuner and it’s definitely not bad but the bike prefers to be going 40+ in at least second gear I’ve found. She moves real good but maybe I need the intake too though?
Cannot wrap my head around why they put only one disk up front. It looks like it is missing one disk! I had vs1400 and why I passed it to a friend was not the lack of power rather the stopping power became weak for my aggressive style of riding ( was not riding that hard all the time but knowing I lack the brakes I want was offputing ). Raider might be heavier but the math is 1 disk for 300 kg bike vs 2 disks for 350 kg bike ...
If manual says 87 or higher it means 87......using higher is waste of money fuel and performance Put in 87 and city cruising in 2nd is no problem The only problem with Stryker is that you will eventually get caught and lose your license It is so much fun to be thumping thru a curve at 50 in 3rd then twist the throttle and hit 80 immediately I switched the 210 for a 240 and it handled even better
Forgot Yamaha makes good stuff to go on this bike Boulevard windshield, looks great and just enough to keep wind off chest and reduces quite a bit of helmet beating The backrest is best looking made, also costs Running lights are great, before lights someone pulled out in front of me at least once per ride.......after the lights(and they are good lights) not one time did someone pull out in front of me
@@JonsMotoGarage Great vids dude, just out of curiosity, where is that strip of pavement with no cars you dual some bikes at, I'm in Mesa..Or maybe don't want to disclose lol.
So, how heavy is this bike? Thinking of it, but my left leg is bad (kickstand side). Have a rod up my femur and to whats left of my tibia with a false knee and a calf muscle moved.
Heck yeah! I've come close a few times, but the deals never panned out. As soon as I come across a decent deal, I'll definitely scoop it up. Thanks for the recommendation!
The warrior is definitely a lot more powerful. I also think the warrior handles better, being more of a performance cruiser. Thanks for checking out the vid!
@Ed Powers That's not a bad price but what brand is it? What country was it made in? Check the DOT code for date of manufacture. The last numbers are the quarter and year made. I have seen Chinese tires with incomplete DOT codes-no date. Suspect DOT numbers. Chinese tires aren't all bad but stick to recognizable manufacturer brands made there. Ride safe!
I'm wondering if this is my bike lol. I bought a white stryker when I was in AZ this winter that had 9k miles, identical to this, that the seller said the guy he bought it from only put a few k on it.. o.O
I have both and the performance isn't comparable, the VN900 has no guts compared to my Stryker. The VN900 is definitely smoother and the Stryker feels more clunky. The VN900 handles better at slow speeds because its shorter. The VN900 is a great bike but it is definitely underpowered while the Stryker pulls all day long straight out of the box.
Nice! I've had a few of the phantoms in my day! Super awesome bikes! I think you'll enjoy the extra power the stryker offers! Keep me posted when you get the new ride!

Since their released, my first impression was it looked "chopper-esque." Most articles about the bike seem to hit on the same topic as well. Definitely not a chopper in the traditional sense, but lends itself towards that style with the semi-raked out front end and lines imo. I could be way off though.

@@allenb7874 thats awesome
The Stryker is the most Harley like Japanese cruiser with it's own style. The Raider is too big. The Stryker is a happy middle weight. About +10 more HP and TQ than a HD Sportster but a M8 will eat it's lunch. Only negatives would be OEM funky exhaust shape, tank has the Japanese seam, lots of plastic parts, and not as much support/aftermarket as an HD bike.
I can promise you the full bolt on Stryker will embarrass any 107. My uncle learned the hard way after dropping 25k on his new 107 and called me out.
@@rickyellison6572 That is good to hear. What do you mean full Bolt On Stryker? OEM or with some go fast parts? Stryker certainly would be lighter with a very good motor!
So what about heat build up on the raider if you are in traffic? Also is the raider have more metal vs plastic for covering? Thanks man
Raider had more metal coverings on engine if I recall correctly. The air cooled is something people bring up but I haven't personally experienced the pros or cons sitting in traffic with it, so couldn't speak to that. Thanks for watching and commenting! Great questions!
Rode my Raider today, 200 miles, mid June, southeast heat, humidity, yea, warm when you stop, had no problems though.
Noticed you stopped at a QT for gas hahah , I put those in I’m a Petroleum Tech by trade I do all stations but QT is one of the biggest in my area Charlotte NC
Heck yeah! QT is one of my favorites around here as well. They have the best drinks. Hahaha.
Really enjoyed the video...👍👍👍👍👍👍
love my 2012 stryker
Saludos ....tienes una coleccion de motos chingonas pero me gustaria saber tu opinion , de cual es mejor una striker o una fury por que estoy indeciso por alguna de las 2, me gustaria saber tu respuesta gracias.
Love my Stryker! I've noticed the same sweet spot "issue" at low speeds in 1st and 2nd but otherwise cruising at 40-60mph is like a dream
Nice! Yeah, it's such a minute thing. I just had to come up with something I disliked. hahaha. Good to know I'm not just imagining things. Thanks for watching! Ride safe, my friend!
On the Stryker forums a lot of guys have put in the front pulley from the v star 1300.that seems to sort out that small low speed issue.
@@annubissl thanks for the info! Yeah, I never noticed it on the vstar 1300.
Jon so Arizona has always been your home? Great talents you have bro 👍
Thanks, brotha! I originally hail from the great state of Oregon.
@@JonsMotoGarage ok👍
I’m not happy with my back break pedal position, did you adjust yours down?
If manual says 87 or higher it means 87......using higher is waste of money fuel and performance
Put in 87 and city cruising in 2nd is no problem
The only problem with Stryker is that you will eventually get caught and lose your license
It is so much fun to be thumping thru a curve at 50 in 3rd then twist the throttle and hit 80 immediately
I switched the 210 for a 240 and it handled even better
Forgot Yamaha makes good stuff to go on this bike
Boulevard windshield, looks great and just enough to keep wind off chest and reduces quite a bit of helmet beating
The backrest is best looking made, also costs
Running lights are great, before lights someone pulled out in front of me at least once per ride.......after the lights(and they are good lights) not one time did someone pull out in front of me
totally randon but what city do live in? im looking at places to move and that city looks nice
Arizona East Valley (chandler, mesa, gilbert).
Motorcycles are for riding! Love it.
Hey Jon, are those foot pegs and controls any farther forward than on the Raider? (I'm shorter than you)
You should get an Indian scout sixty or Indian scout
Heck yeah! I've come close a few times, but the deals never panned out. As soon as I come across a decent deal, I'll definitely scoop it up. Thanks for the recommendation!
is it good for touring?
Would this bike be comfortable at highway speeds consisting of 70mph?
Hows it compare to the warrior
The warrior is definitely a lot more powerful. I also think the warrior handles better, being more of a performance cruiser. Thanks for checking out the vid!
Before considering a Striker check on tire prices. The rear is an oddball, expensive.
Good to know! Thanks for the info!
@Ed Powers
That's not a bad price but what brand is it? What country was it made in? Check the DOT code for date of manufacture. The last numbers are the quarter and year made. I have seen Chinese tires with incomplete DOT codes-no date. Suspect DOT numbers. Chinese tires aren't all bad but stick to recognizable manufacturer brands made there. Ride safe!
Just throw a 240 on it
Raider back tire, 200 to 300 bucks, not a big deal.
@@treeguyable 2 too 3 hundred bucks is no big deal? I want your job. I paid less than 2 hundred for 4 tires on my little Nissan truck.
Bar hopper. In the city.or country roads.
Alright. I'm subbing lel great vid
I'm wondering if this is my bike lol. I bought a white stryker when I was in AZ this winter that had 9k miles, identical to this, that the seller said the guy he bought it from only put a few k on it.. o.O
Stryker vs Vulcan 900 custom?
I have both and the performance isn't comparable, the VN900 has no guts compared to my Stryker. The VN900 is definitely smoother and the Stryker feels more clunky. The VN900 handles better at slow speeds because its shorter. The VN900 is a great bike but it is definitely underpowered while the Stryker pulls all day long straight out of the box.
Awesome bro
Love these , rare in the UK
Thats an awesome way to review a bike hahaha
Hahaha! Thanks, brotha!
I like the wheels on the bike
Yeah, they definitely fit the custom chopper look. Pretty slick!
I live in Callie so I got fury for the price
0-60 more like 0-120 lmao but you should buy a shadow you have yet to review one!
I know. I've made offers on a few but no luck. There was a shadow phantom fr dirt cheap! But the dude sold it before I could snag it.
@@JonsMotoGarage you looking at the 750s or 600 or 1100?
@@brandonbrowning8273 750 primarily
@@JonsMotoGarage Love my shadow phantom 750, currently looking to get a stryker
Nice! I've had a few of the phantoms in my day! Super awesome bikes! I think you'll enjoy the extra power the stryker offers! Keep me posted when you get the new ride!
Amen brother
Man I'd love to live in your street!
I have 1# and I Love it 🇺🇲
Mine is modified 😳 it will smoke high-end cars from red light to red light 👋 the girls like it ♥️ it is a HARLEY 🏳️🌈 DAVIDSON KILLER 🤔 IT IS HARD TO FIND A QUALITY BACK TIRE 🥺 it is a perfect bike for short people ❤️ I am 6ft 3in and love it 🍀 the water cooled engine is bulletproof 🍔
Love from DeKalb Mississippi USA 🇺🇲
It looks like the Chopper motorcycle from Watch Dogs 2
What makes you think the Styker is a "chopper?"
Since their released, my first impression was it looked "chopper-esque." Most articles about the bike seem to hit on the same topic as well. Definitely not a chopper in the traditional sense, but lends itself towards that style with the semi-raked out front end and lines imo. I could be way off though.
@@JonsMotoGarage It sorta sits halfway between Cruiser and Chopper IMHO
The fury is the only one that looks anything like a chopper
110mph and she’ll keep going if you hold on tight lol great bike but im tired of mine.
Tired of your stryker!?!? What do you plan on getting next?
Based guy
Sell that Yamaha and go buy a Harley!!
Hahaha...I have a few harleys as well. Thanks for watching!
