Ughh this era of UCLA gymnastics. 😭 Kocian, Ross, Ohashi. 😭 they were all so good and also all humble af.
wow she’s amazing. her career is really going great. first the olympics and then off to ucla. so happy for her
Unfortunately she's done. Last year was her senior year and it was cut short :(
W
Sheesh she's done way more difficult routines. That was easy peasy for her.
i wouldnt say that given the amount of injuries shes had, she cant do the difficult things she used to do
I think that was the point
@@calciumpill yet the overreaction from her teammates lol
College gymnastics is about the execution of the skills like how well they do them not so much the difficulty but if they can do them cleanly more power to them
@@jen5138 They're literally just being supportive teammates? Why's that a bad thing. Also, if she had just recovered from a bunch of injuries, maybe it was very impressive.
Womens' college gymnastics looks like so much fun because your teammates cheer at everything you do ... like a simple cast to a handstand, ha! I'm sure she appreciates the relative easiness of this routine.
Last week the Pac 12 network showed encore presentations of UCLA and the 2018 conference championships. I noted on the crawler that Madison, along with other females in conference sports, won some kind of award. Good for her.
did homegirl really have to rush and tackle her right after she finished?
thank you so so much for posting the whole meet
Fyi not trying to diss her because I think she’s so talented, but that routine was soooo unbelievably short. This is why I don’t like watching college gymnastics. I’ve been a huge fan of elite gymnastics since I was a little kid so I’m used to difficult, packed routines. Regardless, beautiful execution in this routine 🙌🏼
i definitely understand where you’re coming from but obviously elite and college gym differ from each other, the routines in college gym aren’t as packed because i feel like coaches wouldn’t and to push their athletes way too hard and run the risk of more injuries
@@droppedmeatpie it’s also hard to compete elite level routines when the NCAA limits how much they can practice a week
@@shellyshakeup exactly! there’s a limit on what they can and can’t do!
@@droppedmeatpie I think OP made it pretty clear why she prefers elite gymnastics over college and that she's aware of the skill requirements between the two. 🙄
@@keller109 okay? was only just saying 🤣🥴
Anyone have the moment when her score is posted?
imagine knowing you go to school with an olympic gold medalist
@O GINASIO Gold. Team USA won gold at the 2016 olympics.
@O GINASIO ….she’s still a gold medalist regardless. She assisted the team to a gold medal, therefore it’s hers. The fuck are you talking about?
I tell ya, from the bottom of my heart, Maddie 's the best. Period
So many commenters here that clearly don't understand how collegiate gymnastics works.
Mi Hermosa Y Maravillosa Campeona.😍♥🏃⛩🏅💛💖💗💓💓💞💘
Beautiful leotard
They don’t do releases in collegiate gymnastics?
No, they don't. Collegiate gymnastics only allows safer and easier skills to be performed since these girls are not trained as hard as the elite gymnasts.
It’s not required
@@randomeryetfun5841 they do do realeses-
@@randomeryetfun5841 they do releases just in this routine Maddie didn’t do any single bar releases she did 2 high low releases. It just depends on the gymnast Janay Honest did a tkatchev, Peng and Fish did Hindorff’s so some do
@@randomeryetfun5841 they actually do, Maddie did 2 low to high bar and high ti low releases but not any single bar releases. She still had enough difficulty for a 10.0 start value.
Where are Ariana Berlín from UCLA ????
oh they js be giving anyone a 10!
Wow💯⚡🏆
Bars is my best event
Eu não entendo pq tanta comemoração
She finished twisting over the bar
What about Arianna berlin
What about her? She retired 12 years ago.
While it was a well done routine, she didn't Really stick the landing-she slid her feet together almost instantly. Isn't that Not a 10.0-or is that what is called a "college stick"?
Edit: I have since learned that a “college stick” is when the gymnast lands off-balance but flares their arms in a salute before taking a step, to make it look like a stick 😝 The more you know!
If she lands with her feet apart but manages to get the heels to touch without moving the toes for the salute, it's still considered a stick.
@@sarabondi447 That’s the reply I’ve been looking for! Thank you for informing me on how she achieved that 10.0!
Hm. This feels like 2 real skills and a dismount. As clean as she is as a bar worker, I feel like the 10s should have been prioritized for gymnasts with, ya know, actual release skills. There are plenty of women in the NCAA throwing jaegers, tkatchevs, geingers, etc., this just feels too easy even by NCAA standards for a perfect 10. And yes i'm ignorant to their COP.
There's just no way the score should be the same as a Peng Peng Lee bar routine (see here: ruclips.net/video/42E4mJfNVDE/видео.html)
She won a gold world medal and a silver Olympic medal for bars...this is her watered-down college routine.
@@KM-eo2jq I'm aware of this. I'm comparing her to other collegiate gymnasts like Peng Peng Lee who throw major skills even in their post-elite college routines.
@@_padfoot She does a chow I and a Pak. Thats enough imo
@@daro2404 Well the NCAA code of points agrees with you, since she has a 10.0 start value. I just think it would be reasonable to have a same-bar release required for a 10 SV because they're exciting and pretty run-of-the-mill in NCAA gymnastics in this day-and-age... just my two cents. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I agree this routine is very easy but that’s not her fault. I don’t think the gymnasts makes the routine and I believe in college gymnastics it’s more about having fun and performing routines to perfection than it is about the difficulty. That’s why you see gymnasts with routines that are not as difficult as others scoring perfects 10’s. Madison is capable of performing a routine harder then Peng’s but she doesn’t need to and her shoulder injury could be another reason as to why her routine is so simple. I wish she would have kept the transition where she goes from the high bar to the low bar and directly back up again like she in Rio. I’m guessing that transitions are considered as releases in NCAA? Or they don’t have to include a release move?
ummm...10.0 points???
ellen michener 10 is a “perfect score”
There was a slight leg separation from the high to low bar. Definently doesn't deserve a 10. All in all, great routine
It was so slight that the judges probably didn’t catch it. The only reason we were able to see it is we got a direct angle of her routine straight on, not from the angle that the judges see
Its scored from what the judges see from the side
@@elenajoseph6630 remember, college gymnastics is more lenient and easier to get by. i saw mistakes as well but you have to remember that college gymnastics isn’t as strict as elite gymnastics
@@joelle4844 theres that too
🖤🖤💞🥰😍
I saw 2 slight leg separation. College gymnastics has bloated scoring. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
The routine is valued above a 10.0. It's way harder than college routines need to be. Her score was well deserved.
She straddles on her giants
Time? Cause I didn’t see it 🤷♀️
You're allowed to straddle pass the low bar. But she does bend her knees to do so. She's a world champ and an Olympic silver medalist. It's like LeBron traveling, the stars get away with a little more.

How is this a 10 I seen harder routines that scored less
😲
D dh3
She clearly buckled on both her handstands! How is this a 10?! 10 is supposed to be perfect and honestly no one should be getting a 10. This is a good routine but why ncaa judges think they can ignore deductions when they decide to is very frustrating
What do you mean buckled? She locked her arms out and straddled to the top. No buckling at all. If there was anywhere she should have been deducted, it was her leg form.
@@Yarotska101 yeah I couldn't think of the right term
Anthony Andrews couldnt think of the right term. definitely deserves to be a certified judge in the comments.
Anthony Andrews the routine was literally perfect
@@Maleficent_Method973 loll:))))
I swear that’s not enough difficulty to get a 10. The did a transition from low to high, easy one back up to the high bar, then did a dismount. She didn’t even do a release.
You don’t need to do a single bar release move. This is college gymnastics. She has plenty of difficulty between her transition moves from low to high and high to low as well as her dismount that she doesn’t need anything else
@@elenajoseph6630 it should be a requirement in order to get a 10.
@@jamesbagley2937 i disagree but that’s why we’re not judges
@@jamesbagley2937 The rules are set by NCAA. Not us.
Muitoooo fraca essa rotina
Então vá lá vc fazer esta rotina "mt fraca"
N seja babaca ok
This is a 9.3 start value routine for my college code of points, and truly the worst 10 on Bars ever. At least Kyla Ross in her similarly basic routine did a shoot to the high bar, instead of just standing there like a child. Kyla also had more amplitude on her dismount and a cleaner shaposh. Look at that big arm bend Kocian does after catching the high bar, that should be a deduction.
