Unpopular opinion- I actually don’t think Nicho is an origin type player. If I was Madge I’d pick Wighton.

Almost as if the new season is a current replica over the previous season, as if the teams they play are like here you go take a free win, every bottom from last year has improved, namely the Bulldogs, Dragons have also toughened up since last year, Tigers are also better than previous years regardless of where they currently are on the ladder, if you go in with the wrong mindset, or expecting an easy wim you’ll get your pants pulled down which is what happened to the Sharks against the Tigers earlier in the year.
They literally have the hardest 6 weeks straight from rounds 10-15, this part of their draw could make or break their year.
But then again it’s too early to be calling predictions or stating who is a premiership contender and who’s not.
South Sydney is a classic example, this time last year they beat Storm, Panthers and Broncos in a row inside a 6 game winning streak, they were sitting first and everyone was riding them sky high already stating they are premiership favourites by Round 11/12.
Then they absolutely tanked after that and didn’t even make the finals.
Likely scenario with Sharks, if they have a solid period within the next 5 weeks but start to crumble out of form after that, what then, are they still premiership favourites.
How much better is NRL360 now that Kenty is off the show.
Nicho is a terrific player. I can only fault him on one thing. I wish he was a Queenslander.

Hynes must first prove himself in the upcoming games against the top sides. Otherwise, clearly and luai will do just fine. Let's hope it is not Cody Walker
I'd go with nicho, he is a good running half, The sharks olay better when he runs the ball. Plus he brings versatility to the team, he can play #1 and #6. Storm were in red-hot form when he played fullback for them in 2020.
Problem with having Hynes and Cleary is that they both like lots of touches. They both can't do that, so the choice is one or the other. Cleary all day. You need a running 5/8 with Cleary like Wighton, Lui (nope), Burton & Moses. Moses will be a walk up if he's fit.
Moses is the most overrated player in history, and i say that as an Eels fan, he's a world class choker that folds when the pressure is on, that's why the Qlders Reedy wants him in the NSW team so badly
I don’t know if Moses will make it in time, depending on when he’s due back. Cleary will be the walk up starting #7 if he isn’t injured or suspended but I’m guessing Hynes will be on the Blues’ bench. But hey… I could be wrong.

Nicho hasn't proven himself as a pressure player. He's 0-6 in finals games and this is what nsw want? You want proven winners and combinations
Our 7 is set for the next however long. Our 6? Not so much. It’s easy to pick Cleary’s halves partner - but that hasn’t worked quite as well. I’m not 100% sold on Hynes - but. Dally M winning half who can play 6 or 7, can kick & run - it’s mental not giving Cleary & Hynes a chance together. They could be our halves for the next 5 years potentially. They should be given an opportunity.
James is right it's like a dam wall! The Storm have done well they always do! But there is no way they can keep it up with the injuries. I think the Sharks Parra and Manly will win!
Even if the Storm make the top four. They can not beat the Panthers.

Nichos defense has improved night and day. He has been so consistent and deserves his chance to play. I love moses but 2 games back isnt enough IMO. All eyes on nicho next couple of games. Huge test this weekend.

The most important thing for this NSW team is to do away with the "Penrith" style of play, the Isaah Yeo block shape etc... it was so predictable and easy to defend. Less Penrith players can only be a good thing for NSW. The only spine player that needs to be from Penrith is Cleary.
The "Penrith style of play is what NSW need more of, not less. Freddy picked the Penrith halves last year, but then allowed Tedesco as captain to continually call for the ball. Cleary passed to Tedesco 11 times in the first half game 1 last year, and 11 times Tedesco was tackled. Cleary passed to Luai twice, and the second time Luai put Martin in. It wasn't the Penrith connection that failed, it was the fact that Freddy picked them but didn't use them. No disrespect to Tedesco, but he's past his peak, and will want the ball even more this year to prove he's still got it. They should pick the Penrith combo, make Cleary captain, and let him run the show. If it doesn't work, change it then, but don't sack the combinations when the evidence is that they do work.
I hope nicho doesn’t choke again again… again. This will be his 3rd origin audition ,his first was an absolute shocker before being picked for a virtually unused debut then the sharks get hammered by 40 in lead up and is dropped game 2.

If Sharks cannot beat Storm this week with many of there good players out forget it as i have said for years must be able to beat the Top Teams not just the Bum Teams in saying that they could not beat the Tigers.

sharks have had the easiest draw and hynes is overrated. he's in consistent literally up and down every week. burton over hynes this year without a doubt. moses no chance coming back especially how parra have been going.
Idk luai is playing good footy for us at penrith but I'd be stoked to see Nicho get a go in the halves.Hes a beast

@@lauifisaufoisamoa I think people underestimate how important good fast quality service from dummy half can impact your attack and as a penrith fan I don't think luai is the kind of player who can do that since there's dummy halves that still should work on it more but who knows,I'm just some guy and the proffesional coaching staff would know much more than me if they did pick him
Completely off topic but I heard from a good source that Cronulla were over the cap when they won in 2016 but the NRL felt bad because they hadn't won a Comp in 50 years and were unlikely to win one for another 50 years so the NRL let them have it

No no no! Nicho is too slow for Origin. Even Cleary can barely keep pace. I don’t know what the answer is, maybe Burton at 6. Time and again we see the big moments in Origin come from fast Queenslanders against tired Blues. Pick someone who will still have energy in the dying minutes of the game.

Because Hynes has made a living out of beating up on the bottom teams. Last year Cronulla only won one game against the top teams and that was against Melbourne, when Hynes was out. Someone tell me the five biggest scalps Hynes has had with Cronulla.
