Talk is cheap when you do not know the economics to be primitive. First thing is to maintain low COST. Production quantity and request of goods pallet are not huge in quantities, so why invest in expensive robotic arms. Using one manpower is minimum requirement for the machine. Due to the long injection cycle time, he can cut flashing, label the product, and top-up raw materials for the machine. So he is fully occupied in his primitive work. And cutting flashes is easier done when the part is still warm, and the tool he is using looks alright, not primitive. And there is no smart machine that can do what he is doing. If there is an expensive robotic arm to remove the molded part which has a long cycle time, the robotic arm would be idling most of the time. So what do you mean by saying too primitive?
