Man, I don't know if I'd call his pendulum step with combos the basics. It's so incredibly difficult to master that pendulum step with combos going in any direction. But you're also right- he has masterful use of the jab, high guard, etc.
@@ShaShaSha534 Well, in Soviet style, which is what he learned, it is the basics. A lot of the Soviet style is taught to beginners and amateur fighters. For me, the pendulum step is something my coach taught us all in like the first month. It’s pretty simple but it does take reps.
I'm jealous. I'm working on it, but have never been taught. The biggest thing I've learned from Bivol is to get it fluid, the punch comes from the ground. For example, pushing off the left foot backwards then the hook whips. Is this correct? American clubs only teach the typical American styles- not much mobility@@jesuspernia8031
Top-notch video! Bivol is a master boxer with a unique style that combines technique, speed and a deep understanding of fight tactics. His style is characterized by excellent defense, high level of movement and the ability to adapt to his opponent. Bivol makes heavy use of the jab, which allows him to control distance and create opportunities for attacks. He is also known for his ability to combine defense and offense, making him an extremely difficult opponent. The “400 Boxing Combinations” practical manual can be an invaluable resource for mastering the Bivol style of fighting. This book offers a variety of punching combinations that will help boxers develop a wider arsenal of offensive moves, as well as learn how to use defense more effectively. Combinations based on movement, timing, and variety of punches will help develop technique and tactics similar to Bivola's style. Understanding the different combinations will also help boxers to better read their opponent and find vulnerabilities in their defense, which is a key aspect of successful Bivol-style fighting.
