After spending barely 25 minutes of anticipated waiting around both Tracks No. 22 and 23, a 10-car E5 Series Shinkansen Set No. U12 and 7-car E6 Series Shinkansen Set No. Z24, which would operate as the Shinkansen "HAYABUSA" & "KOMACHI" Superexpress No. 1 bound for Shin-hakodate-hokuto and Akita, safely entered Tokyo Station at 6.20 a.m. sharp on Track No. 22. Once all the train doors were securely opened, I quickly boarded the train via Car No. 10, which was the Gran Class car bound for Shin-hakodate-hokuto, and secured my assigned Seat No. 3A for the major early morning trip of only 4 hours 21 minutes to the small and sparsely-populated suburban city of Hokuto closer to Hakodate in southern Hokkaido.
