In this recipe video, we roast a whole suckling pig on the rotisserie of the Blaze Professional Gas Grill! We were inspired by the Louisiana tradition of roasting a Cochon De Lait & wanted to figure out a way to adapt it to something you can do in your outdoor kitchen.

They are from trees. the natural habitats of birds, worms, insects, snakes, squirrels, monkeys, etc. They are either killed or driven out of their homes because you vegans eat crops and use wood products. How are cities built? All houses, schools, temples, monasteries, hospitals, roads, air ports, shopping complexes, etc, are built on the past natural habitats of wild animals. If you really love animals, go live in a cave or jungle and feed on wild plants. Also, don't use medicine or receive a surgery because all these have been tested on animals, you hypocrites. You have the right and freedom to be vegans but if you criticize and condemn others, we hit back with facts to shame you. Please cut and paste on all videos promoting veganism and criticizing meat eaters.
@why this. The food chain is violent and cruel. But Christians will tell you before Man sinned, all animals are herbivorous. However, since Christians are living in a sinful world, it's okay to slaughter, stuff, roast and eat turkey as on Thanksgiving (the turkey thanking God for having this honour). What size pig is this and any idea what size would fit on the Blaze Professional 3 burner (34in)?
I would put a measuring tape to your rotiss rod on the grill, subtract enough from the left and right side so that there is not a large portion of the pig not in front of the infrared burner. I would say 27 inches long and under if you have a 3 burner, but it would be easier to eyeball it if you have the grill in front of you. Remember to pick up a U clamp from the hardware store to brace it in the middle of the rotiss rod, this helps it not to slip. Best of luck!

I'm going to assume when you say you turned on the rear burner, you put it on high??? No mention is made about what temp the closed grill lid should read.
Infrared burners are very hard to read accurate temperatures from because of how direct to the meat the rotisserie burner is at that point vs. the convective heat. Yes, the rear burner is on high, which is really the only setting you will have with rear infrared burners because they are designed to burn hot. Cheers!
I enjoyed the video. I roast 3-4 pigs/year in a similar fashion. I like the ss u-bolts, I use steel wire to secure spine to spit, it is a hassle putting them on and taking them off. Curious as to why you score pig skin? I try to keep the skin intact as long as possible, so meat is cooking in the pig's liquified fat.

Can this be accomplished in the blaze 40” LTE premium? Or not enough height clearance for pig to spin
It certainly can! Same procedure - remove everything down to the main burners, and use them to hold a drip pan, you may need to trim a little off the pig depending on size.
How's the temperature timing to get crispy and fully cook in the inside.
It timed out well, the inside takes a while to cook through, so by that point the outside is browned nicely.

How many inches was that pig? Wondering if I can do this on my kamado big joe rotisserie.
I believe it was about 32 inches. I think the Big Joe will be too tight of a fit, with it's 24in. diameter. I would recommend a larger pit when doing a whole pig. Can this pig be cooked on a Blaze LTE 40in? what is the largest pig 40in LTE could handle?
The 40 inch has a 37in. wide grill grate area, I would subtract a couple inches on either side for good measure. I would say one around 33 inches or less. Best of luck!

Do you think this can be done on the kamado big joe?
The big joe has a cooking diameter of 24 inches, I think the main thing is making sure you can find a pig that will fit. You can absoultely achieve great results on the big Joe. I would set it up with the heat deflector beneath the pig on the middle rack, you can have the water pan resting on that as well. It would just cook in more of a slow smoked style, as opposed to the infrared burner heat. You could smoke it until the internal is close, then remove the heat deflector and let it brown nicely direct over the coals. If you are asking if the Joetisserie would work, I think clearance of space would be a bit of an issue, I would just smoke it on the cooking grids.

Anyone know if I can fit a pig this size on a 4 burner Weber Genesis 2?
The main thing to keep in mind is your clearance for the rotisserie rod turning without hitting the back wall. I would run a measuring tape on that so that you can have it on hand when selecting a pig. The clearance beneath it can be cheated by removing the grids, so that helps.

Excellent, make sure to pick up a U clamp and some washers from the hardware store to be able to brace the pig in the middle of the spit rod, otherwise it wants to not stay put as well. Wyatt Dowling Oh please, in my area a lot of people grow their own livestock and they still have a sense of humor. It's even considered good luck for children to ride pig carcasses right before processing.
Where else would you get the pig if not the store? Could go to the farm I suppose, but that's just like going to the store or is it worse because it's on native American soil that was stolen from them? 🙄 Can't track and kill them without government getting involved issuing gun permits and getting permission from land owners to hunt on their land. Off to the store we go then!
