If a backpack has a water loop hole, it can be used as a charger wire pass through. Been handy a couple times. If there’s no gear loops the top handle is quite handy for hanging coats and stuff too, which is quite obvious. :) also one I always use is to use the hip strap as a compression strap when I don’t need it.

Also use the waist belt or the chest belt to attach the pack to vehicles / vessels to avoid it being bounced over the side, if you don't have a (big enough) carabineer or cordage to use the handhold for such.

This is an exquisitely well-done review. Packed with information and no fluff. The video caused me to go through all my backpacks to see if they had any features I never noticed. If you are looking to buy a new backpack, the well-paced and tastefully executed advertisements for their equipment provides the viewer with immediate purchase options so you don’t have to sink hours into Amazon searches. Finally, a tip o’ the hat to the editor. I want to recognize the effort spent adding time marks and equipment links on top of an already great video!

I use the chest strap to keep a folding or full tang knife on when hiking, or paddling and such. It's convenient, easy to use this way, and secure. Like a cell phone, it cuts down a lot of hunting for when it's needed.

Thanks, another really useful video. I think the pig snout was originally for attaching an ice axe to the rucksack, in conjunction with a loop at the bottom of the sack. I love that the whistle seems to be a standard item on more bags too now

D-Rings on the backpack straps are great for hanging camera and binoculars from. You have immediate aaccess to them without having to take the pack off of you to get to them.

@@PackHacker I am a landscape photographer and avid hiker, and I use them for scouting out sites, looking at wildlife, etc. Most of the time though, a camera bag is hanging there. I use holster style camera bags, and different brands for the small straps and clips that attach to the D-Rings.

While traveling with our toddler (and his car seat) we put his small backpack in his car seat and attached it using a waist strap from my Tom Bihn Synapse. He decided he didn’t want to carry it and one of the adults had to hold his hand while the other had the seat. Accessory straps for the win!

For bags that don't have enough pen loops I hand stitched some 12mm elastic to Velcro's and put the soft sticky back material on one of the interior section. Running nearly 30cm I made enough loops for college use - pens, eraser, calculator, compass and ruler.
For bags without camera dividers I sowed the soft part of the Velcro's around the edge and made felt dividers with a stiffer insert. Having a smaller Sony E-mount series camera most dividers are made for full frame, creating a space not needed for the smaller lenses. These inserts are made to measure, configured in different ways and can be removed completely if carrying other things.
Many bags don't have pass through holes for USB cables or in the "wrong" compartment. If you can get in the corner or make a hole elsewhere and stitch it up so it does not break up You can make a pass through between any compartment.
Even if I don't use internal pockets and organisation I leave them in place. Few can be removed and replaced later.
On one trip with a nice clean and bright new back pack I had to put it in cargo (carrying a multi-tool/pocket knife and cutlery) as well as weight restriction. So I put it inside an inexpensive duffel and pulled all the straps down and locked the zipper. Worked very well. Had a daily back pack as carry on (with all the electronics and batteries).
Any good design can be modified just a little bit to suit your needs better. Don't be afraid to think of an improvement and try it.

If you were to check a thesaurus now and then, you would discover "a ton" of words to use in place of "a ton of". It would expand your vocabulary (always a good thing) and enhance your presentation.
