    Had one for a few months. I use it daily. A few minor issues is the grinder has a consistent grind but not a consistent amount each time. As noted here, the recommended grind settings are wrong, I grind on 4-5 with standard medium roast. Steam wand is good but it takes a bit of time to get ready. Takes a bit of time to get it where you want it but it is consistent and yummy. Worth the cost and, again, the built in grinder isn't bad at all.

      While they are convenient built in grinders are really something to avoid if you’re looking to get more into espresso. They are very inconsistent and have poor reliability. Though if you’re just looking to make milk based drinks it should be good enough.

    Awesome! was looking for a beginner friendly espresso machine, the milk steam wand seems powerful, heat up almost instantly

    Nice affordable machine. If it holds up in a few months, the price will surely go way up.

    I've had this exact model for one week, and so far I've been very pleased (granted this is my first espresso machine and I'm no barista). It took me a while to get the grind size and amount right, as well as the tamping pressure, in order to get the pressure gauge into the red espresso zone while pulling the shot. I've found that when I let it grind the dose for a double shot at fineness level 6, then make it grind for 2 more seconds, give it a firm tamping, then pull that double shot, the pressure gets up right into the middle of the red zone and makes what I would consider to be good espresso. That's using Starbucks French Roast whole bean. One thing I'm noticing though is that after the shot finishes and I remove the portafilter, there's always a bit of water on top of the puck; enough that I need to pour it out before I knock the puck out. I don't know if this is normal or not. Just seems to me like there shouldn't be that much water left on top of the puck. Does anyone know? I'd say it's about 3-4 ml of water left on top of the puck.

      Thank you for the feedback, from what I have read, the water on top is normal but you may be grinding your coffee too fine...I get a small pool of water too but also consider the fact that we are not using an expensive calibrated machine either.

    The grinder is the more important investment for any espresso setup. Get a df54

    Just bought one and I love it but frothing is a pain. So I bought an electric heated frother and wow!

      Milk frothing takes some practice especially with a small machine like this.

      I try to use freshly roasted beans if I can find it locally. But no dark roast.

      @@diydadhub I got my machine 4 months ago and it came with a 60mm portafilter which sucks bc every accessory only goes up to 58mm.. I think the company changed the size.. do you know if the portafilter that came with this machine is 60mm or 58mm?

    So I ordered that bottomless Portafilter and it sprays everywhere even with puck prep and at the finest grind setting 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know what it going on

    • @diydadhub
      @diydadhub  11 месяцев назад +1

      Since this machine wasn't designed for a bottomless, you have make some adjustments until you get it at that sweet point. I wish I could be more clear on what to do.

    • @JT-zy2ft
      @JT-zy2ft 10 месяцев назад +1

      For a bottomless portafilter you really need to be precise when making your espresso.
      Weigh out your coffee to match your basket size.
      Time your shots don’t go back that useless gauge.
      Need good puck prep (wdt, distribution and even tamp).
      Consistent grind from quality grinder.
      Also the coffee you use can play a role. Light roasted coffees being much harder.
