I just picked up a Wiend 5984 High-ram with two Holley 9776 Tunnel-ram carbs. Complete with linkages. I sm going to install this set up on my 67 327 that is in my 53 F100. I have been watching your videos, and this one is a huge puzzle piece for good drive ability. Thank you for posting these.
Thanks for the kind words!!! You witnessed a Ghost sighting... LOL Thanks for Watching please Subscribe and help spread the word about the channel!!! Andy
Thanks Brother, I have more Dyno Vids coming this week... Im not sure about the next track Vids.. I have some Awesome news coming about Casper's engine!
Have been running a Tunnel ram equipped 347 for years in a Fox body mustang which runs great however was syncing my carbs by ear, just saw this video and just ordered the parts to duplicate your tool and will start using it for sure, thanks was very helpful.
New sub. Excellent work on the video the description was very good, and you sound professional. How about jetting the dual carbs, I’ve seen corner jetting on these high rams yeild decent results- while individual cyl tuning.
Thanks for coming over and Subscribing.. im glad you enjoyed the video.. I have many more lined up! Please help us spread the word about the channel! Andy
Would love to see jetting and power valve tuning on dual quads too! Have been subscribed, but telling all my engine buddy’s to subscribe too, for the great content!!!!!
Andy , do you adjust each carb individually? What I mean is one carb both primary and secondary, then the other carb primary and secondary, or both primary together and both secondary together?
Very interesting video andy iv never seen that but it looks to be a very good tool to have to get both carbs in sinc, iv never really felt with dual quads before but if I do....... thank you for another great video bud. I know you’re a ford guy I’d like to share my coyote swap fox (notch) with ya sometime. Built for NMRA coyote stock I have run a best 10.18 @130.00 with a bone stock motor with a G Firce dog ring trans and 471 gears it’s such a fun car
Keith you guys have my upmost respect!! Because I think it is amazing to take a "Sealed" Coyote and running bottom 10's in the 1/4... To me that is real racing because... ( I hope folks don't take this the wrong way ) but it makes you think outside of the box to gain an edge over the next guy... There are guys out there who are running boost and can't come anywhere near the performance levels you are at! Thanks for the kind words... You wouldn't believe the difference in how the truck runs when both carbs are in Sync... Andy
Hey man i got a question, just got me a 1972 dodge charger rallye with a tunnel ram carb setup similar to yours? Im having issues with it wanting to idle around 2k-3k on start-up and it stays like that, theres also times where when you give it a bit of gas it goes down but its not always the case, its electric choke but is there anything i can do non-experience to tone down the idle?
It sounds like a vacuum leak.. I would spray some carb cleaner on the throttle shafts of the carbs while it is running to see if makes a difference! It's getting air from somewhere just need to figure out where... Hope this helps Andy
So your adjusting the throttle idle screw? I have a 350 with two 600 edelbrock 1405's on a tunnel ram and never considered this. I am new to this as I just bought the car a week ago, but doing my best to learn. Is it possible to get low rpm torque with a tunnel ram?
Depending on your motor combo, Heads, Compression, Cam, etc... On every engine I have ran a tunnel ram, I've been able to have great driveability and good low speed torque... From my experience... The torque of a tunnel ram falls between a Dual Plane and a Single Plane intake.. with the exception it will out carry the single plane up top in power production! If you get the right booster design (Annular) you will have more lowend torque than you could have imagined!!! I would love to try a pair of new AVS2 Edelbrocks on a tunnel ram! I hope this helps... If you have any questions feel free to ask.. I'm on Facebook : Andy Wood
So would you also do this on a holley tri power? Because it is a progressive linkage. But all three carbs have a idle circuit, transfer and mixture screws. The two outer carbs just don't have a power valve.
Finding a matched set is almost next to impossible... There is nothing special about it really other than both carbs being built the same day.. back in the day Holley sold sets of 660's and they were usually matches but not always Just buy two matching Carbs and start from there! Hope this helps Andy
I'm running a pair of 750 double pumpers on my setup I have this tool . do I adjust the primary idle then the secondary ? One carb at a time or both primaries then both secondaries ?
I was trying to determine what size holesaw to bring with me to my other garage, where the tool is, I guess with that answer I’ll just bring them all and update the rest of the people later with the right information
I would say no. Watch the beginning of video, you need to adjust the unisync to get the ball midway up. If you had two, they would have to be opened exactly the same. (Not possible) Use one, adjust it- then that single adjustment is what you're tuning both carbs to.
Very interesting video. Too bad you’re a Ford guy lol. I’m a die hard Chevy guy, so i had to call you out on the Ford gear. I wouldn’t mind picking your brain about the 660 carbs i bought new, but have not put in service yet.
No, I have just worked on them for many years and have learned to get them to perform like they should... Engines are very analog devices.. they want what they want and its just figuring out how to make it happen! Andy
It's hard to believe but Edelbrock still makes the Uni-Sync but it was used when Flatheads ruled the roads!! I just made it work on a 4bbl instead of 1 and 2bbl carbs!
Extremely helpful tech video! Thanks for your great delivery and how to content!

Anytime... The 450's have pretty small Idle feed restrictions but everything still applies! Let me know how it turns out. Thanks for Watching

Finally!!! Thank you so much. Been looking for this exact info for some time. You're a life saver. lol

Nice, that's a big motorcycle sink tool lol . You will get better fuel mileage also with a better idle quality . nice job on that sink tool .

Thanks for the video! I'm gonna get after my dual holleys on my crossram.
That’s awesome!!!!
Thanks!! It made a huge difference in how the truck drives right off of Idle!
Good info. I seen one used on a flat head with 3 carbs. Up till then . I often wonder how you would get them sync
It's the same principle and it does make a huge difference!

Would happen to know how tall the set up in bottom of the intake to carbs
Where did you get the KRC aluminum cap ?
why didn't you provide a link to the pieces that you used to balance the carbs ?
So would you also do this on a holley tri power? Because it is a progressive linkage. But all three carbs have a idle circuit, transfer and mixture screws. The two outer carbs just don't have a power valve.
Yes you can apply these same principles to a Tri Power setup... That is the beauty of the Holley design.. Thanks for Watching!
Andy
@@UnityMotorSportsGarage thanks for confirming! Now the tricky part Is building the carb hat for the two barrels...
Of the subject slightly, I'm putting a TR on a 408c solid roller. Should I look for matched carbs or just buy 2 650dp and go from there?

Where do I start with the secondary throttle blades?
Hello.. got all this, but my front carb slams to the top.. but the back card will float the bubble... any ideas? Thanks

I've had to do the same thing with a two headed woman before. It works. Just go back and forth from one head to the other. 😂

@chuckbrown7570 the same size as the Uni-Syn tool opening.

Do you run a pcv valve on your setup??
I did on the 393w.. MIXED UP BOSS will have scavage tubes to the header collectors.

How much compression in the motor is needed to enjoy it. SBF comes in at 311 cubic inch
Terry, this 393w had 10.7 to 1 compression
