I still can't believe people thought odd mage would still be bad after they announced Jan'alai. It's such a good card. Every game I've played thus far, I've had Jan'alai activated by the time I drew it.
Well least til April it will be good after that who knows how things will play out. Cuz I'm sure everyone will put silences and all sort of counters for jan alai in their decks.
@@Rcsledge silence doesnt really counter janalai' sure you silence the ragnaros, but they still have 12 damage on board that the now can choose where to hit (unless there is taunt)
I hate to kill your dreams, but the meta just started man with Rastakhan's, there's a tooon of unrefined decks. Odd mage was like tier 3ish so its not surprise its winning vs. many decks

Something fun that's happened to me in hunter, play most of the game normally pressuring with hero power damage, opponent stabilizes so we use deathstalker rexxar to shift to a more grindy gameplan. Hero power, get macaw, play macaw, get Jan'alai, play Jan'alai, get rag EZ
I don't feel like baku is necessary to have a consistent Firehawk activation, I honestly think that's overkill, the combination of the +2 DMG on hero power with the pyromancer as well as the spirit (which can be run as a one of) is more than enough, you don't really need both at the same time to have dealt 8 dmg by turn 10, 12 max. You don't necessarily have to play the loa on curve
Voodoo Doll + Blast Wave is such a sick combo too that can refil the hand if you hit multiple thing,you have garanted one card with the brutality effect + maybe others with other enemy minions kills thats sick i think.and blast wave juste upgrade the odd mage cause now i have put Alana in.

You should try either Arcane Tyrant in this set with the 3 big spells. Or Harrison instead of Ooze and Astromancer and go for more of a big hand mage type deal.
Got lucky and my free (edit: 1st 10 packs) legendary was Jan’alai. Have had fun with my version of the deck. Sadly still missing Blast Waves, would be a nice addition, but they are so expensive than unless I get one from a pack, got to live without.
Jaina is also nice in wild , so it;s a good long term card. I am a f2p and I am moving more and more to wild these days. It's fun to play between rank 15 and 5 in wild
I think they may nerf jan'alai in some really backwards way. Having a 7 mana ragnaros with a 4/4 that can get zolaed and repeated is a little ridiculous. I almost think the best thing they could do to it is either make it 6 mana or make it 8 mana with way larger stats (6/6 maybe).
I had the best first experience with this card against big res priest. Janalai>rag face for 8, he screams, I topdeck the rag, next turn draw janalai again XD
Then it's a well-designed card. A lot of strong cards in this set required some setup that the current decks weren't doing, meaning new decks would be needed, or a old decks would need a decent amount of retooling.
I would hold on to it. He's super great in a fatigue matchup and if a fatigue deck pops up you'll want that. It's not a build around card that you might NOT want to play like Gonk or Hireek.
I don't think I like artificer in oddmage. You need to save it to combo with flamestrike which nets you 7 armour. You can just play an ice armour and get 8 armour without having to combo it with anything or wait till turn 8.
Jan’alai just seems like such a power turn... I feel like it can turn games around, or secure an equal game, or maybe even both, depending on the conditions Idk how I feel about the card, seeing how easy it is to fulfill the summoning condition. Don’t get me wrong, I love the card, but I think it might break odd mage a bit. Am I the only one who thinks this? Also I think bloodmage thalnos should be in the deck for blast wave and a bit more cycle
You can try to put something defensive or aggressive. I would have put a new 3/6 dragon for 5 that does one damage to all other minions because of lots of aggressive decks. But, maybe, there is a better way to replace Zilliax. Have a nice plays, mister!
Zilleax was the best legendary card of the expansion, used on maaaany decks, you should craft it (unless you go full aggro I guess)

It's funny to think that we could nerf this card by actually lowering its cost. If it cost 6 instead of 7, it could not be played in odd decks, and thus would be a bit harder to play (8 pings instead of 4 is a big deal! turn 7 Ragnaros would not be possible).
I wouldn't say "unplayable"... I mean, it's still a 6-cost Ragnaros with a bonus 4/4 minion, and pinging 8 times or more in a game is already what mages do in general. It would be pretty good in even decks (if there are good even mage decks).

Well even if they lower its cost, there are still other support cards like the spirit which enables you to ping 3 minions for total of 3 damage. Generally you can make use of the spirit twice throughout two turns or more if it survives and there is even possibility of pairing it up with the 1 cost guy which lets you ping 3 minions for total of 9 damage. Granted playing it on curve is unlikely, and it is not as reliable as upgraded hero power, but hey still pretty good value
imagine this. You have two clockwork automatons on the board while playing odd mage. Then boom, you are literally ragnaros yourself with control istead of rng. 2 mana deal 8 damage
@@CryboneYT Google Shuffle Rogue, some versions are without legendaries, some have Edwin, some have Tess and it's a lot of fun when it works... :D You could make dragon warrior with Ysera and the new dragon dude as your only legends (although with warrior the more legends the better). The OTK Shirvallah paladins have only like 3 legends (depends on version) where the 2nd is Zilliax and 3rd either Lynessa or Ashmoore and spell hunter has Rexxar, weapon and Zuljin as the legendaries and only 3 epics.

you calculate how much you do ...per ex. you have 1 hp minion and u wanna kill it you hero power it it still 1 dmg...not 2 and so it goes if it like that i have new Idea for otk mage deck...
Once the Dks rotate this game will most likely get more balanced. Nothing beats FLJ even when you suck at the game FLJs lifesteal mechanic just dominates. Im gna miss FLJ haha.

Slamming Jana'lai feels so good, favorite card of the expac.

Yeah the condition seems kinda pointless half the time that low - can still play it turn 7 if you draw it as long as you use the hero power most turns
