This is a very nice question! The best explanation I know comes from Feynman, with a thought experiment that shows magnetic force is just electric force in a different frame of reference. Allow me to explain.
Imagine a wire conducting electricity. Since it has a current, electrons are moving through it in one direction. And since the wire itself is neutral, if you take any segment of the wire at any instant, there will be equal number of electrons and protons in it (with the protons being static, and electrons zipping by).
Now suppose another positive charge is moving along side the wire, very close to it, when the same speed as the electrons. If we change the frame of reference to move with the speed of the electrons, we see the new charge is static, as are the electrons. But the protons are zipping by in the opposite direction. Due to special relativity, and lorenz contraction, the distance between the protons will reduce. From this perspective, the density of protons will no longer be equal to the density of electrons in the wire, resulting a net positive charge field around the wire - so our new positive charge will experience a push.
The magnetic force is precisely a way to express this force in the original frame of reference, where the new charge and electrons are in motion. There the moving electrons give rise to a magnetic field, which is felt by the positive charge as it's moving, perpendicular to it's motion and direction of the magnetic force leading it away from the wire - resulting in same set of events.

This is really an experimental fact, we doesn't really why happens at a deeper level. What special relativity says, it's just that an electric field of a point charge at rest is transformed to a magnetic field from your view point when you change to a moving reference frame. This is the reason why we usually say that magnetic and electric field are the same field.

A point charge has an E filed associated with it, and let's assume a test point a nearby. Now if the charge moves then vector E at the point a also changes. By Maxwell's eqn changeing E creates B and vice versa(curl E = -dB/dt & curl H = dD/dt ..). It's not the motion but change in E which matters.

For anyone curious about why this happens, it's due to length contraction as explained by the special theory of relativity.
Suppose there is a line of positive charges moving along the z-axis in the positive direction - a current. Consider a positive charge q located at (x,y,z)=(1,0,0), moving in the negative z-direction. We can see that there will be some electrostatic force on q due to all those charges.
But from q's frame of reference, clearly the charges constituting the current will be moving faster in this frame. But that doesn't do much, since after all the Coulomb force clearly doesn't care about the velocity of the charges, only on their separation. But special relativity tells us something else. It says the current charges will appear closer together. If they were spaced apart by intervals Δz in the original frame, then in this new frame they will have a spacing Δz*√(1-v^2/c^2), where v is q's speed in the original frame. This is the length contraction predicted by special relativity.
If the current charges appear closer together, then clearly q will feel a larger electrostatic force from the z-axis as a whole. It will experience an additional force in the positive x-direction, away from the axis, over and above what we would have predicted from just sitting in the lab frame.
Basically, Coulomb's law is the only force law acting on a charge, but only the charge's rest frame is valid for using this law to determine what force the charge feels.
Rather than constantly transforming back and forth between frames, we invent the magnetic field as a mathematical device that accomplishes the same thing. If defined properly, it will entirely account for this anomalous force seemingly experienced by the charge when we are observing it not in its own rest frame. In the example I just went through, the right-hand rule tells you we should ascribe a magnetic field to the current circling around the z-axis such that it is pointing in the positive y-direction at the location of q. The velocity of the charge is in the negative z-direction, and so qv⃗ ×B⃗ qv→×B→ points in the positive x-direction, just as we learned from changing reference frames.

Think of it like this "you are negatively charged and hence are being pushed away from the particle that too happens to be negatively charged so from your pov you are being repelled because of the charge and someone else looking at you from their respective pov might think that you are being pushed away because of the magnetic field" let's suppose that you are stationary so it may seem to someone that you are not at all affected by the fields...this was the best explanation I could come up with...🙌🙌

Whether the charge is moving or rest it always has magnetic field.. Not just magnetic field but all fields... But the value of the m field is 0! Actually when it moves it doesn't create a magnetic field cuz its always been in magnetic field.. When it moves what it does is.. It creates a distortion in the magnetic field.. For example imagine urself in water when u don't move the water is calm nd all but when u move you create a distortion nd continues disturbance in water field... Thats exactly how quantum mechanics works! (Imagine a infinite huge multiple graphs with all values 0s in it! Interaction of quantum particles distorts the graph values from hiking the values !

1:29. Explaining a concept on the basis of implications put by due to the fact you accepted the previously related concept as the intrinsic property of something in that concept. I have had this issue with so many teachers. Dear HC verma sir, you explained it in way that perhaps no one could have explained. In school I often come across concepts which are based on previous concepts. And the question arises in my mind "why". It happens to all concepts regardless they posses some intrinsic property or not. My teacher would also reverse the question by deriving some implications because I accepted the previous concept without asking why. Even if I would've asked why they would simply brush it off or avoid it. And now teachers want me to question why on every concept, how can I do that if I had been always told to accept what was being taught. IDK but that's biased. And my school teachers weren't that great. When I was in primary classes teacher would blame me for incapable to understand anything and calling me I could never ever do anything in my life. Well I proved them wrong in 10th standard by scoring 80percent. I know that's not enough but that's a lot for a average student who was always told "you will fail always". I guess education system needs to evolve, because I have realized how even a single wrong word taught by teachers can have significant impact on their learning capabilities and direct impact on perspective of child towards subject like these. I can provide you with an example when I was young like in 5 or 6. While solving algebra I encountered a problem with solving LHS and RHS, I asked to my teacher, instead of explaining me how the LHS and RHS concept work that teacher explained me how to solve the question, presuming that I already figured out the LHS and RHS concept. it seemed like I had to memorize these set of rules for every such question and that's how I was solving maths until I thought of something which kind of opened my mind. The idea was basically equal sign indicates that two given quantities are equal, and by the quantity I mean you can put anything on LHS and RHS and equal sign has the conceptual property to only let equal quantities put aside that sign. If those given quantities are equal than you don't have to do any effort to equalize them. When you're given RHS LHS you basically have to make one of those equal to each other by manipulating loopholes in conceptual property of equal sign. Equal sign says, two given quantities put aside has to be equal, it does not state in anyway if it has to be intrinsically equal or you have to make it equal. Equal sign demands if you wanna put quantities aside it, then it needs to be equal. It doesn't care if you're gonna make it equal or it's already equal. These abstract concepts like maths need to be translated with accurate correspondence with the respect to it's intrinsic conceptual property. In order to solve maths you just have to know if you need to solve problem then look at question accurately and extract exactly what it says. You have to find loopholes.
Well when you're solving problems you have to exploit loopholes and use those as way to extract results. And that way is the concept which you often hear from teacher. Teachers speak the question, they will tell you concept used and explain it. But never tell how to figure loopholes. So what many student end up doing is they memorize and understand the concept and try to it figure out how you can align that concept with the given problem, they establish a mindset so whenever they encounter a problem they're like "yeah this number goes in this method like this way and this value you have to put here.. " You see they're just putting values without realizing why you have to put the values. Well you might say, you gotta put values to obtain result but that's not how it works. Well those values and numbers along with given relations depicts the exact state of problem, in consideration with state with respect to objective of problem. it then pictures combined what the problem is.

Wonderful to hear from the legend. 😊. Sometimes I believe it gets confusing for beginner physics students as we usually learn about magnetic and electric field as a separate phenomenon and then come to know about their unification. However, its understandable as it might get difficult if we start explaining complex things first i.e special relativity and lorentz transformations.
For simplicity, both electric and magnetic field are actually the same thing viewed differently in different frames of reference.
Even a stationary charge will produce a magnetic field if we are moving w.r.t to it. What we perceived as electric field in one frame will be perceived as magnetic field in another frame of reference.
But again, to understand these concepts clearly, we will have to abandon the newtonian mechanics that is so much rooted to our understanding that relativistic mechanics appears baffling to our minds.

Sir, I do agree with that first paragraph, but I think that not all people do that.
I also am in eighth, and came here just to know how it all really works out. And this IS really a problem that while everyone expects to give birth to a hardworking and genius child, every teacher expects to have hardworking and intelligent children, but rarely( I don't have anything against teachers, I have utmost respect for them) does one help to really build that up. Some children just try to be over smart and ask idiotic questions, but if you take every child who asks a question higher than course for that, you are absolutely wrong. Sometimes, unknowingly, a question pops up in mind which is truly much higher than your ability to understand it just then , but it does. So the teacher may explain it as simply as possible. And believe me, students are not always as the wrong end. For example- my teacher had been discussing positive charge and negative charge, electroscope etc. for a week, and I just asked "Ma'am, can you please tell me what charge exactly is?". But the answer that I got was "you think you are so smart?" And then she went to every friend of mine and said Ill things about me to them. Was that apt?, sometimes teachers may also accept their inability to explain something simply, they are also humans, and it is not possible even for them to know everything. However, just accepting it increases your respect among students. Just constantly scolding a child and not telling the answer really hampers their curiosity towards studies as well. I could have been told that charge is a force exerted by subatomic particles and even smaller quarks and leptons(which you will come to know about later) and its positivity and negativity is just the different nature of the particle. But no, I was ridiculed and mocked at. Was that correct? No. And it can't be that you want a child to excel at study and not satisfy his curiosity at the same time.
P.S - I have not said anything about Verma sir, please don't relate.

@A K Well put, and i agree with most of what you are saying. However there is no need for the magical particle part. Electrons have never been proven to exist, they are but a concept only. Electricity IS magnetism (energy in disequilibrium). Cut out the middleman 'electron' and things become clear. Indeed, the vortex is everything, the product of magnetism displacing magnetism with the resultant mass (energy condensate) displacing at the golden ratio, which is the angle of magnetic bonding of water. Thanks for the read and its good to know that I'm not the only one out there, perhaps I'm not taking crazy pills after all.

the actual answer lies in the theory of em waves
    1) as sir said creating electric field is a fundamental property of a charged body
    2) now, as charge oscillates, the electric fields are produced in the form of waves HERE THE WAVES OF ELECTRIC FIELD CAUSES TIME VARYING ELECTRIC FIELD
as em waves chapter is taught after emi in which we get to know that a time varying electric field produces magnetic field (and also vice versa)
THE ANSWER -- AS THE CHARGE MOVES IT PRODUCES ELECTRIC FIELD WHICH IS TIME VARYING WHICH CREATES MAGNETIC FIELD AND VICE VERSA (WHICH IS THE BASIC REASON FOR PRODUCTION OF EM WAVES BY AN OSCILLATING CHARGE)
FINALLY WE GET TO KNOW THAT ELECTRIC FIELD (TIME VARYING) CAN INDUCE MAGNETIC FIELD

Bro from patna Sir has only told the answer in books. I too have this question and by lots of research I came to know this-
Charges are just formed from electrons or protons( while proton doesn't move). Both electrons and quark( that combine to form protons) are the most basic source of magnetic field. Due to their spin, Charges create magnetic field in a specific Orientation represented by magnetic field lines. Now if the charges are moving, they are not spinning, but even though charges create magnetic field but not in an specific Orientation that is why when current flow though straight wires magnetic fields are not developed in the way they are developed in a bar, round etc. magnet. But why the magnetic fields form according to thumb rule. Now you would be surprised to know that this rule has created a mindset. In actuall the magnetic field produced by straight wire carrying current doesn't has any specific north or south pole. It is just an illusion.
Bro if anyone is seeing this comment please like it so that whenever the patna boy see this video, he see this comment at top🙏

I think physics too has its limitations to inquiry. The nature of a phenomenon is sometimes beyond questioning and is accepted the way it is for furthering its use. For instance, why does gravitational force or for that matter electrostatic force follow an inverse square law? It is its nature isn't it. In case there is a rationale I ll be happy to get educated. It is in this context, often we can see physics or science is about studying the phenomenon and explaining it rather going to even cruder fundamentals of understanding why the nature of the phenomenon is what it is. And it is not that science does not aspire to do that but there are limitations in nature to make measurements on these aspects. However, as long as the process of enquiry persists, I believe we will eventually one day understand the broader "why" about these things.😊🙏

    Nicely explained sir.
Sir I have a question if we introduce Frame of reference here for charge then observation of charge from different frame of reference will give different results....
    as for a rest Charge-
(1)when observed from rest inertial frame we will observe only Electric field.
    (2) when observed from inertial frame moving with constant velocity the along with Electric field we will observe Magnetic field also.
    (3) When we observe the same rest charge from non-inertial Frame then along with Electric field we will observe Magnetic field as well as Electromagnetic waves.
Then question is observed magnetic field and electromagnetic wave will be real or pseudo...?!...These all are contradictory and confusing....
Then what's about the fundamental property of charge that Charge is Non Relativistic Physical quality???

The relationship between a moving charge and the creation of a magnetic field is a fundamental aspect of electromagnetism described by the Biot-Savart law and Ampère's circuital law. The "why" behind this phenomenon is deeply rooted in the principles of physics and the mathematical formulations that describe the behavior of electric charges and currents.
One way to understand this is through the concept of special relativity. According to special relativity, electric and magnetic fields are two aspects of the same phenomenon, known as the electromagnetic field. When a charge moves, its electric field undergoes transformations that result in the appearance of a magnetic field in the frame of reference of an observer moving with the charge.
In simple terms, as a charged particle moves, its electric field undergoes changes that give rise to a magnetic field. This interplay between electric and magnetic fields is a fundamental feature of electromagnetism and is beautifully encapsulated in Maxwell's equations, which describe how electric and magnetic fields interact and propagate through space.
In summary, the "why" behind a moving charge creating a magnetic field is deeply tied to the fundamental nature of electromagnetic interactions, as described by the laws of electromagnetism and special relativity. It's a consequence of the way electric and magnetic fields are interconnected in the fabric of the universe, as articulated by the mathematical models developed by physicists over the years.

You nailed the fundamental question, what I call, "Duality Hole".
If a Charge particle is moving with respect to an Observer, the observer see Magnetic Field around it.
But, if a second observer is moving along the charge particle, he will not see the magnetic field around the charge.
That means, in the same Space Magnetic Field exist and does not exist. It is all about frame of reference movement.
To solve the mystery, the Space Time Transformation with respect to speed was introduced, first by French Physicist Lawrence.
If you plug the Relative Velocity instead of simple velocity into Maxwell equations, speed of Light come out to be Constant, irrespective of Frame of reference.

Searching on Internet, I found that the colours of electrons, protons and neutrons are blue, red and green respectively. Now, atoms form matters. So if the colour of all atoms(electrons, protons, neutrons) are same of all elements. So we must see same colour around us due to reflection of light. But this is not so. Why??? What are colours???
Why some objects reflects light in such a way, the object looks of varied colours???
By the way I know the concept of diffraction of light, as light is itself composed of 7 colours.

In common use of English, "how" and "why" are often used as if they have the same definition. In physics, if one speaks carefully, only "how" should be used. Physicists can explain how a change of this or that is manifested, but can never answer why. "Why" requires a meta-physical explanation, but none are available that will satisfy everyone. Note that "why" implies there is motive or intent, while "how" does not.
The "why" of physics is completely mysterious. Sometimes, quite often, physics can explain "how". It makes no sense that any particle has a charge but it seems that they do have such. It makes even less sense that moving charges would produce a magnetic field...why that instead of making butterflies or rivers? At the base of physics are axioms...understanding beyond the axiom is impossible, which is part of the definition of axiom.
BTW, the explanation for charges and magnetism emerging from moving charges is withing the scope of understanding of year 10 students...maybe even year 8 or 6, since it is only an explanation of a magical property of matter that has been observed, not too much different than any observation.

You nailed it. Maths & models can't explain - only describe. Has anyone here actually defined the term "field"? Or "magnetism"? Nope. Nobody. What is the difference between dielectricity & magnetism? Gravity? Electricity? Nobody defines these in an of themselves. Einstein got at least one thing right, if you can't explain it, you probably don't understand it. Define your terms. Descriptions are not definitions.

I am pretty sure the meta physical interpretations will make sense only when one has a very very strong grip on the theories of electro magnetism. There's probably "some" deeper meaning but realising what it means would probably require an in depth understanding of physics, something which is only possible after years of rigourous studies.
I noticed quite the same thing in medicine and surgery, on the face of it, it's entirely, entirely observational, but an in depth enquiry into all the observations creates a "synergism" that improves your understanding of the human body as a whole. Probably gives you a deep insight into how it all works. It's how surgeons are able to manage complex cases every day. There's NO set of guidelines as to how to approach each and every patient, but a well educated surgeon uses his understanding and intellect to predict the effects of what he's going to do, what's rational or not. Of course, surgery is much more simpler than, let's say, predicting the behaviour of black holes. Physics is more abstract, and that's why developing an innate understanding of physics is tougher.

In simple, magnetic field is electric field observer experience in different frame of reference, this is a consequence of special theory of relativity's length contraction. as the charges moving, the number of charges per unit length increases bcz charge frame is under motion, so you feel greater electric field strength than if you are moving with the charge, this extra force we refer as magnetic force. And note this phenomenon is always inevitable process, so we use the term electro-magnetic field in all our study. and why the magnetic force is right angle to moving charge?. that is bcz, if you put a another charge in place of observer the force makes charge moving in right angle direction.
like this we can frame lot of questions, and you can see, how many things are connected, the theory which meant to describe speed and time has wider scope to answer many un-answered questions in classical-mechanics, electro-magnetism and so on..
always go a step further to see the beauty.
    thank you - question everything!

The answer to the question begins with a postulate of special relativity which states that the laws of physics is the same in all reference frames. In order to reconcile the fact that a charge can produce an electric field in one frame, and a magnetic field in another, we must assume that a charge produces an electromagnetic field, which is the generalization of the electric and magnetic fields that exists not only in space, but in spacetime. Under this assumption, you will see different projections of this electromagnetic field depending on your frame. In one frame, say the rest frame, the projection can be strictly an electric field, but in the "lab" frame, you will see a different projection which can include a magnetic field. These projections can be obtained by applying a linear transformation to the electromagnetic field known as a Lorentz transformation, which is a mathematical object that can take you from one frame to another.

In the context of a RUclips video aimed at an audience eager for knowledge, a response like "you should do a course on special theory of relativity to find a better answer" may not be very satisfying. It's more helpful to provide at least a brief explanation that aligns with the viewer's current level of understanding.

Consider a neutral wire with some electrons and protons in equal numbers now let the electrons drift (current). Now imagine a proton near the wire moving with same velocity as the electrons in the wire , now here the theory of special relativity comes into play as in the frame of reference of proton, the proton and electrons in wire are moving with same velocity but proton in wire are not, hence the distance between the protons in the wire will decrease (by special relativity)which will increase the proton density in the wire therefore the proton outside will experience an electric field that will exert a force on the proton . Now if we look at this situation from non inertial frame the charge outside will appear to be moving so we have to consider a force in account of the moving charge which we call it magnetic force .
So basically magnetic field is an electric field just from different frame of reference.

It totally depends on your frame if reference. If a charge is in motion and you are in ground frame then you will observe the magnetic field however if you are moving with the charge then you won't feel the effect of magnetic field but you will indeed observe the other component of electromagnetic wave that is electric field.

Velocity and acceleration are not completely the same thing. Suppose a Car is moving with velocity 2m/s with a=3m/s² then acceleration tells you that it's velocity will increase with 3 m/s after every second. Then after 1 sec it's velocity become 5 m/s and after 2 sec it becomes 8 m/s. So 3 m/s gets added after every second. If this car is moving with constant velocity 2 m/s then it's acceleration is Zero. So acceleration tells us the rate at which velocity changes with respect to time.

I think you yourself said the answer by asking the question!!The keyword is DIFFERENCE😊 In simple terms, Momentum refers to measure of motion(mass x velocity) ok and force is proportional to rate of change in momentum, means force refers to DIFFERENCE in momentum. If difference in momentum of a body from intial to final state is zero, force measured is also zero
