- In this trip report, we take a look at the continuation of my British Airways First Class flight from Singapore to Sydney on board a Boeing 777-300ER.
After BA 15 from London touches down in Singapore, guests are invited to the BA Lounge to relax while the aircraft refuels for the next leg of the journey. BA First Class guests have access to "The Bar - Singapore", which is a private and exclusive part of the lounge.
After reboarding the aircraft, I take a quick look at the BA First Class product. The cabin on the B777-300ER has 14 First Class open suites arranged in a 1-2-1 pattern. Prior to take off, the open suite is reviewed in detail - seat positions, foot rest, IFE, reading light, dining table, storage closet, electrical sockets, privacy dividers, etc.
During the flight, First Class guests are spoiled by a dine-anytime menu which means I can eat what I want whenever I want. Shortly after take-off I enjoy drinks & canapes, followed by a 3 course dinner. The fine-dining experience includes elegantly-designed elegantly-designed crockery by William Edwards, luxury cutlery by Studio Williams and stylish glassware by Dartington Crystal.
The 6ft 6in lie-flat First Class bed is also reviewed in this video. The bed is prepared with a foam & microfibre mattress topper, plush oversized pillows, and a crisp white cotton duvet. First Class passengers are also offered luxury amenity kits and pyjamas by Temperley London.
Prior to landing in Sydney, First Class guests can order a full breakfast.
After landing, I get priority clearance through immigration and customs, and my priority-tagged bags are soon out on the carousel.

Good review, as usual, but I find it so sad that BA still can't get their act together and provide a decent First Class experience as far as the so called 'Suite' is concerned. Absolutely no privacy! I have flown 1st class with other airlines, including Emirates, and they have private fully enclosed suites with sliding doors. As far as the BA 1st class lounge is concerned that also appeared to be very poor. BA is rapidly becoming an airline that needs to make some serious changes to the 1st class product. I will certainly not even consider flying BA 'First'!
Absolutely true. Delta business class even has an enclosed suite in a 1-2-1 config. BA need to lift their game.

Nice review, as usual Eddie! I am still inclined to book an airline that offers more privacy in First Class. Having been spoiled by enclosed suites even in Business Class, I just prefer that cocoon of privacy that makes feel relaxed and comfortable. Take care and Happy Travels!

I have just flown Emirates business class on their A380, it was clean with excellent amenities a much better toilet! Come on BA you call that a first class toilet, shocking! The food looked on par but the Emirates aircraft also had a bar to sit at which was fantastic on a long haul. I hope BA turn their tired fleet around soon because the prices they charge are simply not worth it when you can get better quality at half the price in business class on many other airlines

Just a thought but I would find it interesting if you let us know what wine/s you drink during the flight. I know you mention the bubbles at the start of the flight and the teas you drink.

Another excellent report again Eddie, I have to admit that i thought BA had stopped flying to Australia, maybe I thought that because they don't fly to Melbourne. Their first class looks good but I guess it depends on what you are comparing to, and Emirates, Qatar and Singapore would all outshine BA, however BA are getting there they have come a long way in the last few years. I was disappointed that a flight to Australia had not one Australian wine, really who decides on the wines, and don't they think it would be appropriate to have at least one wine of the destination country. Really like your review and all in all, wasn’t feeling really WOWED by the first class product,however it seemed comfortable with great service and amenities, my question is for the price paid vs. other international first class experiences, do you feel you received a good value?
Great Filming Eddie with such detail.I love everything about your BA experience except the seat.For me 22 inches just is'nt wide enough and the armrests do not fold down to give those all important extra inches.
I must add the days of dining of lobster in the skies seems to be disappearing.
The menu was interesting but "chicken" what a cheap option especially for First Class.
"Yes" I read the menu and yes there were other options but nothing that jumped out with the wow factor.
A nice asian dish would have been a nice addition especially having just left Singapore.
Dispite the above which are my personal likes I enjoyed the video alot.

what is the etiquette code for the noise cancelling headsets in first class? can one take it or should one leave it? (finished more than half of your reviews in the last 24h and this is the top-of-the-list thing i ve been thinking about...^^)
Great video. This felt much more like Business Class, than First Class. Sadly it confirms BA as a second tier airline.
One thing that confused me was why you, as an Australian citizen, needed to fill out an immigration card upon arrival in Australia. Is that normal? I'm British (hence my sadness about BA) and when I arrive in the UK I don't need to fill out an immigration card because I'm a citizen.
I prefer CX First Class to LHR/HKG -> SYD or SQ First Class LHR/SIN-> SYD. Real First Class !
when was this actually filmed? 6am at Sydney in December is about 30 mins after dawn so should of been daylight
To be fair BA's First Class is no better than it's major competitors Business class arrangements!
Nice review, I would prefer BA to fly the A380 to Sydney via Singapore, prefer that to a 777 especially for economy

Is that First class? Business class Singapore Airlines would have been a much better option then. Singapore Airlines is actually always a better option, no other crew like the warm crew of Singapore Airlines

The 777 seems pretty comfortable in the front, but in the back, it’s pretty cramped, tight, and boring, especially with the new 10 abreast layout
