For those who are pressed for time, the nitty gritty begins at 4:37. One can just fast-forward to 4:37.

It's easy to do once you set up the VCR to the DVD recorder the right way. I've been doing this since 2009.

How would you connect two dvds, one to record (copy) and one (dvd player) to play on a 2013 Sony Bravia televison?

To record DVD to DVD, you will hook it up the same as the video. Just use a DVD player in the place of the VCR.

I have try to have a go at it, with my 2007 Toshiba DVD recorder. So far my VCR is playing through my DVD recorder, but every time I turn the DVD recorder on, it blocks out my VCR signal.
How can I overcome this problem?

You should be able to change to the correct source using the DVD recorder remote.

This video was quite helpful. I have a question....once I started recording a video into DVD format, can I pause the recording in progress to insert another video to record another segment to make it into one video? For example, I have 5 minutes of video #1 and then 15 minutes on video #2 to make it into a one single DVD? Please let me know. Thank you.

probably input 1 or 2 which refers to the composite jacks whether connected to the front or rear of the vcr , should say input 1 or two

UG! I'm having such a hard time with this. I recorded a very old VHS - seems to work but then when I try to watch on the samsung the video and audio don't match up and if I try to load into a computer is says VOB extensions and my computer will not play it. Do you know what player I would use on my computer to be able to watch on it? Thank you.

An alternative attempt could be an AV2HDMI Adapter (10€), an Elgato Capture Card (used for less than 100€) and a free software called "Handbrake". The end product are handy H.264 mp4/mkv files which save space on your harddrive. All the best 2 U.

You said the recorder was to be using component video. RCA red white and yellow is NOT component video. Only the yellow is video the red and white is sound only.

I can't remember him saying that after connecting to the TV, the right channel between the DVD recorder and the VHS player should be selected to synchronize both devices.

Hello, we won't be very soon. We are located in Mesa, Arizona currently and do hope to eventually open a location over there. We can always ship our products to you, but I think you may need a special VCR which we have available. Let me know if you would like to know more about that.

But this record in 16:9 format. Old vhs tapes we're in 4:3 format so the image is not the same. If you can change the format of your widescreen tv for 4:3 then record it, you will have the original tape view.

I know, but there is a thing called Degrading
The VHS recordings will wear down naturally, it can and will get bad enough that the image breaks or doesnt show up at all. This is why VHS is being stored to DIGITAL

I've connected my equipment correctly, but my DVD recorder is showing "No signal." Can anyone help me with this?

    • @Spencertified

Did you set the input on the DVD recorder to the right one?
If so, does your DVD recorder have an S-Video input? You may need to change the settings to input through composite.

@@Spencertified I can see the DVD menu on my screen, so I think the input is correct? The output selected is EX2, which is where I have the cables connected at the back of my DVD recorder.
