I just want to personally thank you for this song. I was beaten inside my own house by the police, for trying to protect my infant son, whose mother was throwing heavy objects and hitting him inside of his crib. I did not put my hands on her. I simply asked her to leave. She tried to take my car. And when I tried to stop her so I could take him to the hospital, she hit me with my car. Then got out through the keys at my bloody face and walked away. Later on that day she returned with her aunt and the police. I informed the police that they could not enter my home without a warrant. Nor could they take away my child without DCFS. That they were to remain outside while she gathered her things. She informed them that I was not a violent man. Also that I have never harmed her or my son in any way. In return they maced me 10 times in the face, charged me, and six officers pulled out their extended ones and beat me while my hands were in the air in surrender. They handcuffed me and continue to beat me. They called me a Niger and told me that's what I get for being with the white woman. Then I had to watch as they set my sister up for striking a police officer that was nowhere near her. And listen to them plot on how they can stick it to us and the different charges that they wanted to put on us as they continue to kick me in my ribs, my legs, my arms, and my face. And the case was thrown out. I planned on suing them but, my father worked for the correctional facility as an officer on 3rd shift and every day up to the date of the trial, I got pulled over and police officers would threaten to kill my father. Telling me that if I went after the officers that did that to me, that an accident just might happen one night while my father is at work in one of the pots. The door could accidentally locked behind him and he could be brutally beaten to death by the inmates. but I knew the inmates love my father because the fact that he inspired them to get out and be better men. I knew that it would be the officers that would attack him. So I couldn't press charges or sue. I received absolutely no justice. They put a hole in my knee. And now I am a 38 year old man who has extensive knee injury. And I have one heck of a hard time trying to find work because even though the case was thrown out and it was 16 years ago, it still sits on my record as if I am a criminal. I am also a Lyricist. I sing R&B, gospel, and Christian love ballads. And I have tried to make a song to address the issue but, everytime I try to record it I end up weeping and cannot seem to finish. Thank you for speaking out for people like me. And may God bless your journey. I'm behind you 100%.

When I was sixteen the police twisted my spinal Cord then slammed me with 8yrs over my head over a wood pipe some seeds and stems and a separate charge over a dime bag. Suffered for years in drug programs. Curruption currupts absolutely!
i see comments of race this and that. she is talking about freedom for all because injustices have happened to all. her color has no bearing to what is in her heart and that should be respected, but i forgot this is youtube, the asinine capital of the world!!! smdh. #Ihearyoujustina
