Hi Joe, I have been following you for quite some time now, and watching your videos on the 992 Touring has been very emotional for me. In the next few months, I'll receive a 992 GTS (in production phase at the moment) as a result of many years of hard work. After waiting so long, I can finally fulfill my young boy's dream, and I couldn't agree more with your saying in the previous video about the 992 Touring that hard work does pay off. I hope to meet you one day and invite you to drive in the beautiful mountains of Switzerland. Thank you for the excellent videos and enjoy the ride !
Dear Mr Achille - Another perfect video about one of the best cars ever made. Thank you for that! Only one thing is a little sad - the last emotional video was fine, only some "creature" wrote me as "you" and tried to steal my money (and I admit that they managed to steal some change) because I was supposed to "win" Apple computer... Beware of this human garbage - they can do a lot of damage to your reputation. They appeared on Telegram and disguised themselves very well! Happy New Year 2023 and many safe travels and successful videos!
Awesome. No electric vehicle could ever replace a car like this. I'll never be able to afford one or even drive one but, for me, just knowing they exist makes the world a better place.
The camera shot from 28:49 is just phenomenal, really involves you in the driving, even as a viewer! Big respect to Patrick for his camera/filming skills! 👍
Yeah, not a big fan of the gear switching skills though. Rev it, the engine can handle it. There is no need to gear up when you can see the next corner right in front of you. Once you start lifting your foot off the gas you'll be decelerating and can ease on the brake.
This sort of vlog involves an enormous amount of work. That one shot from the top of the hill down onto the road must have taken a lot of time to set up. Setting the camera up, then driving all the way down to the bottom and coming back up, and hope the camera doesn't crap out on you in the middle of the shot. I can't believe it takes 20 hours to cross the channel to Spain. Happy New Year, Joe and Patrick!
Filming location in Portugal : Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela - Road : N338/339 you may have presented to the world😊 one of the most spectacular unknown road in Europe! Thanks Joe and greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹
I am going to Portugal soon and I wanna drive through this road too, is it the whole road amazing like this or is there a section that is better than others? I’ll be reaching the national park coming from the north of the country (Bragança). Thanks for your comment, helped me a lot!
@@leonardonickel1217 in my opinion the most scenic part of the road is when you reach the altitude peak ( 2000 meters) and some few km before and after this point is where the road/views are the best. Enjoy.😊
Subscribed! This is the first vid of yours I have seen (I have been to the ‘main’ vid of this trip and back again) and just have to congratulate you on a tremendous piece of work. In terms of conveying how it would feel to own and/or drive the Touring, this is simply the best of anything that’s out there. Dramatic cinematography, every angle of a darting GT3, musical top-end revs are all good (and they were very good) but the freewheeling chat with Patrick was also as engaging as it was enlightening. Bravo - best wishes for 2023, and may your brilliant work keep feeding your channel’s success.
Absolute phenomenal trip, epic shots, backdrops and roads! Loved the encounter with the doggo and bulls at the end 🐶 😁 Also glad Patrick was also given the opportunity to experience them sensational roads in the GT3 Touring. Legendary video Joe, Happy New Year and looking forward to future content in 2023! 🎉
Nice one Joe, you have a lovely relaxed style and calling Harry, 'the Pope of motoring' is priceless, I think that will make him chuckle, and he'll get ribbed about it for sure. Also loved Rob's line..... 'it's like driving on sellotape' Chris Harris would of been proud of that one. Happy New Year.
A dream car! Love the understated silver on silver and the manual option of course. I mean you can’t really go wrong with any colour on a Porsche, it just works 😮💨
Can a RUclipsr get a GT3 winged car and a Touring and just take the springs off and do a spring stiffness and damping test to finally put the discussion to rest?
Delighted for you getting to drive this car, your dream car, for a review. Must feel like a reward for all the work you've done, and very well deserved. Also, this car is beautiful. Definitely my dream car too.
Not really a fan of the 992 vs the 991.2 GT3, especially the front end, but at least the Touring looks better with the painted front intake rather than the cheap looking black plastic nose on the regular one
I’m collecting a new 718 GTS tomorrow, i know it’s a million miles from the GT3 T but it’s my little essence of porsche experience and in my view 7/10ths of that wonderful 992
Another great video. Really enjoyed the sound, scenery and of course the commentary. Re individual mode you’re right it doesn’t have one. But on a GT3 you can customise the Sport and Track modes to suit so they are effectively both ‘individual’.
So wonderful to see this video - a true dream come true! The GT3 Touring is the pinnacle but would you agree that you’d have 95% as much fun in a 992 Carrera T?
I’m nit a suspension expert but would the wing car not just push the variable rate springs to their firmer end more often? At full beans you effectively have a couple of rugby player ms in the car. The touring is only going to get there on road compressions etc so stays at the softer end if the spring for longer?
Correct if trying to place a new order in a the UK and get a build slot allocation. You are therefore forced to buy used at a considerable price premium.
Great video. Definitely not too long The roads, amazing sunsets, wonderful filming and production probably make this your best video yet. Oh yeah. And the car. A GT Porsche in the true Gran Tourismo sense has to be one of the best real world driver's cars available and this trip proves it 😄😄👍 Having said that, Harry did similar mileage in a similar time in his new Emira and that was more than up to the job also
Such a great car - and what a fine drive! Thanks for sharing this. "Touring" is a bit of a misnomer, yes? As much as the GT3 Touring is a dream car of mine, realistically, I don't think my wife and I would collectively enjoy this rather serious sports car for long(er) distance travel. When the time comes, I'm pretty sure I'll be spec'ing a Carrera S (with manual) as my dream 911 grand tourer.
I dunno what it is about the 911 shape, but no matter how many Ferrari's, Lambo's, McLarens, Koenigsegg's, or whatever I see, it's always 911 for me. I took a similar drive recently in the US in the M2C. Similar vistas across Arizona to California. I'm sure you had an absolute blast. You never forget these.
Test drove a 991.2 GTS three times against a 992 C4S, the 992 GTS wasn’t available yet, I bought a new well optioned 992 and have no regrets. I kept coming back to the 992, the refinements in power and handling were just too hard to pass up. I did finally get a chance to drive a 992 GTS many months later and still don’t regret the C4S purchase. Porsche did such a great job with the Carrera models that I don’t think people understand just how good a car they are. Trust me if you are in the market for one of these, drive the Carrera S models a couple of times against the GTS. I think you will find the added $$$ just to say you have a GTS just aren’t worth it, unless that is you intend to sit on it as an investment.
Thanks for the impressions and great video settings. I did Portugal on my motorbike several times. Beautiful, peacefull country, warmhearted people, great food for less money. Sure, GT3 is dreamcar for trip like this, maybe the Carrera T would be my choice. Good luck, happy new year!

I have thought of owning a 911 for some time. I keep thinking next year will be the year. But watching this video just makes me want to run and get one. I would really enjoy a GT3 touring, but I honestly think a standard or a s model would be fine for me. (For now). Keep up these excellent videos Joe. Its not often I spend a whole hour watching anything. This was worth every second.
I have a 991.2 Turbo S with identical looking bucket seats apart from the fact they are both fully foldable which means access to the rear for loading in luggage etc is super easy. Does anyone know why Porsche have now deleted the folding mechanism? Seems a retrograde step to say the least!

Porsche's policy of not being able to get the vehicles is strange. It makes me dislike the whole brand. I also don't understand the concept behind it: who would buy a Cayenne or Macan because they couldn't get a 911 GT3? I think very few!

Or simply re introduce the folding carbon bucket seats as per my 991.2 Turbo S. Can’t understand why they have now removed the folding mechanism as the seats themselves look identical??!!
I enjoyed the video very much. However, I was disappointed with the tire marks that you left at the rest area. It feels very disrespectful of the amazing road and an eyesore to everyone who will visit going forward. Sorry, just felt like I needed to share this with you.

Brilliant sales strategy by Porsche. Once their special customers get the car they resell it for thousands more. Nice.
Yup … ridiculous…
Yes, and those who would have kept them don't have a chance of getting one ever...
Even dealers are selling them for massive overs…
I am keeping mine thank you reason for purchase was not to make money rather enjoy it

Why can't manufacturers put a super long 6th gear in cars? Why not gear it to turn 2k rpms at 75mph? Is there a good reason they don't do this?
Loved this video dude. Great insight!
