7:35 What if instead h4 white plays Qxf4 followed by exf4, Bg6 check, Kd8, Rxe6. I am too lazy to offer a continuation for black to this, but wouldn't it be slightly unconfortable for black even if the queen basically was given for a knight and bishop? Just to prevent the king from going to f7.
At 13:10, just after white Rxb8, why doesn't black Rxc6 instead of Rxb8, eliminating the white queen, and saving the fork that loses the second rook. Am I missing something?
@@xCorvus7x Stockfish is good .. Alpha is Greatest. Stockfish have been programmed by human, while Alpha have been programming itself a million times faster.

Supercomputer games are just cool. I want to be able to actually see how the game is evolving because of them, but considering idk where it came from I'm not exactly sure how it's changing lol. Your videos are great because you have the knowledge to both understand these moves but also you can still be amazed by them, which is great to see. It's funny, I like both your pogchamps breakdowns and your supercomputer breakdowns.
At 10:31, obviously he will capture the rook w/ the bishop so jist capture the bishop with your queen continue your knight E2 after he captures your queen with the rook and your up a whole knight
Just a question if someone can help me: at 14:48, what happens if 32... e4 instead of Qxe3 ? If 33 Qxd3 then exd3 and you have 2 nice passed pawns on c2 and d3. And you have a lots of threats.
I'm pretty new to chess, but I'm confused why knight d5 is off the table at 12:00. This blocks off queen to c7 and all I could see coming from white is bishop to e4 or rook to d1, which black could follow with rook to c8. I ~eagerly~ await your insight
Probably white will play Rb7+, and after Rxb7 Qxb7+, black king is forced to the back rank and then white skewers the rook with Qb8+. Note that the g6 and h7 squares are controlled by white's strong light square bishop on c2, and this makes the combination works.
Yes, white will play Rb7+ and force the gaining of materials. If black plays Rxb7, white can respond with Qxb7+ and forcing the king to the back rank and white will skewer the rook with Qb8+
AlfaZero shows real beauty of the game of chess. What I love most is the long term strategic decisions - sacrificing pawns and the compensation comes like more than 20 moves after that. Its incredible to "think" that far. It shows real human-based "thinking" only with the machine precision. I can admire Magnus and others but this is a different league and the games are not boring because of that human element of thinking alfa possess. What I also like is that it proves to me in full nudity that Stockfish is nothing more than a calculator - counting pawns and material and so on. Yes no man can beat this but its only because human brain cannot compete with the calculator but the creativity is not there. AlfaZero, on the other hand, shows creativity so far unseen within the machines. It is fascinating but also scary how capable this AI already is. In bad hands or with bad orders agains human kind that would be no fun. Not even MacGyver would be able to solve this.
Would like to know what line prevents Knight f4-e2? QxK looses b5 bishop, RxK leaves Rb1 hanging, and moving the queen lets Be6xc4, grabbing a pawn, with threats of Qxa2 then Rb2 dominating the queen side even if the knight eventually must be sacrificed, the c3 pawn becomes irresistible.
In 13:09 after the white rook eliminates the black one on the b-file, why not take the white queen by the black one on the c-file? Isnt this better than taking the white rook?
@13:09 why would black take the rook c8b8, instead of taking on the queen c8c6? i think this is an advantage for black, and the appropriate response to rook b1b8
3:05 Why didn't stockfish move Qa5? It would attack the dark squared bishop, defend the pawn on c3 and allow the c5 next move Edit: nvm Bd6 then and black still can't castle
A double gambit - this is absolutely amazing! I remember some 5 years ago an engine (I forgot which) surprisingly played an unorthodox gambit and got a great position for the pawn with the opposite pieces rendered "mere spectators" (the words of the commentator). In the meantime, until Alpha Zero appeared on the scene, I think that didn't happen much (sb. correct me).
At 13:55 I would have played Queen to b1. Force a queen trade to eliminate the threats to whites King and with a rook up that is sure winning. Any idea why alpha did not do this?
This video i often felt you made some mistakes or your engine did. Maybe the unrated me is just stupid, but why should black take the rook at 13:10 instead of the queen? Prior to this a similar capture was possible.
As a Greek, the quote of Aristotle makes me very proud and people can realize that his philosophical view is something that can be used for multiple objects.Even chess.
Question about this version of Stockfish. How does it compare with the version of Stockfish on Lichess? I play Stockfish there every day on its level 5, I on white always, and avoid defeat at most 1 time in 10. Is there any comparison between the Stockfish in this video and the one on Lichess?
The engine that you play against on Lichess when you select "play with the computer" is not Stockfish, its "Fairy-Stockfish", an engine derived from Stockfish designed to support multiple chess variants. And even when you select the level 8 it's very limited. If I recall correctly it's limited to 1 second of thinking and 22 depth.
@@-zelda- I appreciate your taking the time to explain that to me, because I'd been trying to get an explanation of what "Fairy Stockfish" is and how it relates to the supercomputer Stockfish. So it's a dumbed-down version. If you find it easy to beat, you must be pretty darned good! I've been playing several games a day on level 5 for two years and am stalled there, winning or drawing half my games (and always playing white). Its knight play is astounding, if I don't remove both of its knights within 15 moves I'm going to take an L for sure. It easily breaks through defensive positions I thought were impregnable. It does have one blatant flaw, which accounts for nearly all my wins. It doesn't worry enough about my passed pawns until it's too late. By the time it realizes it's in deep trouble, it's so late that it has to give up a piece to prevent the passed pawn from queening. Then I just trade down and queen multiple pawns. It's also obsessed with taking any undefended pawn or piece, and I've learned that if I deliberately leave an inessential pawn or piece undefended, it will go after those pieces singlemindedly while I am pushing my pawn to the 7th rank. My wins all follow the same formula, capitalizing on these two inherent flaws. One other flaw is that it is overly aggressive for Black. Sure, many games its aggression cleans my clock. But on many occasions we have a very closed position that is an obvious draw, and it insists on sacrificing a pawn or even a piece to open it back up. But those aren't the type of sacrifices throw the other side into a deadly trap. It's a pointless sacrifice, giving up material simply to open up a drawn game. I've won lots of games against it by locking the position down in trench warfare, and once it hands me the material advantage then I just trade down to the endgame. So it has its flaws, but it does detect the minutest of weaknesses that I didn't even realize existed. And its knight play is better than any human I've ever played.
Alpha: *E4*
Agad: A very nice move by alpha taking control of the d5 and f5 square but also threatening mate in 127 and what do you do here as black? You could go E5 but that would lose you the game immediately. So, this is move 1 and in this position, Stockfish.. resigned..the..game.

@16:55 "Bishop to FF" Yeah, its time to forfeit stockfish!
Am I missing something?
next move, white rook to F8... Checkmate
@@davidsteele4246 Thanks
12:59, isn't knight to d5 a good idea??
I think yes
Alpha Zero keeps making sushi out of Stockfish.
I am the best !
Then play Stockfish 10 at full power (with all opening books and whatnot).
i, for one, welcome our new artificial intelligence overlord. if i may be of service, just speak.

In one line of analysis of alternatives to 24. ... Nd3 at 13:08 you show black Rc8 followed by RxRb8 followed but RxRb8 but shouldn't black instead play RxQc6? So the only good move is 24. ...Qd5
3:46 Wouldn't Nd7 kick away the bishop and let you push the pawn?
Edit: 13:10 what of Rxc6? I don't see what mating net white can manage out of this.

At 13:00 what happens if black responds to Rxb8 with Rxc6?
next move, white rook to F8... Checkmate
wow, so early the high quality didn't even get properly initialized yet

5:07 I don't understand why Stockfish there doesn't simply play Nd7,c5, and 0-0?What am I missing?
Note that the g6 and h7 squares are controlled by white's strong light square bishop on c2, and this makes the combination works.
at 13:20 why Nd3 and not Nd5? It would take the c7 square from black or am I missing a tactic?
Yes, white will play Rb7+ and force the gaining of materials. If black plays Rxb7, white can respond with Qxb7+ and forcing the king to the back rank and white will skewer the rook with Qb8+
Thanks.
At 5:09 why can’t stock fish play knight to d7, attacking the bishop and when the bishop moves you can play pawn to c5 and castle ?
nice video thanks. What is the name of the chess program you use ?
At 3:06, shouldn't the move be Qa5 ? Attacking the bishop, guarding the pass pawn, preventing Bc5 & allowing black to play c5
I like your AlphaZero vids the most. It's because of your videos a year that I became a fan of AlphaZero!!
"My bishop pair will always bring about your destruction."
--AlphaZero
15. Bc5
That was brilliant... Using one piece to basically tie up all the queen-side pieces
In 10:21 can't the white bishop take the rook b1 and give back material or am i just being stupid ?
17:38 Woopity scoop
at 13:11 minute of the video .. why couldn't black capture the queen after wight takes on b8
Rf8 is checkmate.
15:32 - Why doesn't Stockfish play Kd3?
Would like to know what line prevents Knight f4-e2? QxK looses b5 bishop, RxK leaves Rb1 hanging, and moving the queen lets Be6xc4, grabbing a pawn, with threats of Qxa2 then Rb2 dominating the queen side even if the knight eventually must be sacrificed, the c3 pawn becomes irresistible.
Alpha kinda feels like a big brother to me, beating all the older kids that were bullying me all these years. Thanks man.
At 12:00 why would black playing knight d5 be a bad move?
5:52 I feel like kd7 could solve some many issues. Why is it not played?
Edit: Once again kd6 could have solved a lot of issues for SF right?
In 13:09 after the white rook eliminates the black one on the b-file, why not take the white queen by the black one on the c-file? Isnt this better than taking the white rook?
becouse rf8 mate :)
@13:09 why would black take the rook c8b8, instead of taking on the queen c8c6? i think this is an advantage for black, and the appropriate response to rook b1b8
Immediate mate for white is not an advantage for black.
@@cinquine1 lol whoops... didn't think that one thru entirely!
12:04 Silly question what if black took that knight and Stockfish moved D5?
Haha the people asked for the smiley faced pillow to come back , and you give the people what they want lol. Good man.
At 13:20 instead of knight to D3 why not move rook from b8 to c8 attacking the queen and bishop and protected by your other rook?
13:08 after rook takes b8 the other rook won't take b8, it would just simply kill queen on c6 and black would be up the exchange would it not?
If black takes the queen, then white plays Rf8 and it is mate.
13:11 Black rook has to take white rook (not white queen) to prevent white rook to F8, checkmate?
3:05 Why didn't stockfish move Qa5? It would attack the dark squared bishop, defend the pawn on c3 and allow the c5 next move
Edit: nvm Bd6 then and black still can't castle
I am eagerly waiting for the moment when you'll get 1 million subscribers!
Congratulations in Advance .

13:10 can someone explain what happens if after alphaS Rxb8 stockfish captures queen Rxc6 instead of whiteS rook?
Amazing game, & I've been watching every video on your channel. Do you play in tournaments often?
13:06
if the white b1 rook captures the rook on b8 why cant the black c8 rook capture the white queen?
because if what you said happened then white can play rook f8 checkmate
2:09 this position is similar to the one I had against my friend
Hi I'm new to chess. Which chess app is being used in the video?
At 13:10 maybe you should've explained why black can't take the queen. Cuz of the mate on f8
What engine do you use for your videos?
18:26 a most remarkable pawn propositon
After black plays Rc8, white needs to move Rb7+. The took capture you show would allow blank to take the white queen, right?
A double gambit - this is absolutely amazing! I remember some 5 years ago an engine (I forgot which) surprisingly played an unorthodox gambit and got a great position for the pawn with the opposite pieces rendered "mere spectators" (the words of the commentator). In the meantime, until Alpha Zero appeared on the scene, I think that didn't happen much (sb. correct me).
13:10 Why you're not snatch the queen instead?
Rf8 checkmate :)
@@xthemugshot thx mate
At 13:55 I would have played Queen to b1. Force a queen trade to eliminate the threats to whites King and with a rook up that is sure winning. Any idea why alpha did not do this?
alpha make things too heard at the end , I really enjoy it thank you so much
15:32 Why not Kd3 instead of stupid move Be6?
This video i often felt you made some mistakes or your engine did. Maybe the unrated me is just stupid, but why should black take the rook at 13:10 instead of the queen? Prior to this a similar capture was possible.
As a Greek, the quote of Aristotle makes me very proud and people can realize that his philosophical view is something that can be used for multiple objects.Even chess.
At 13:10 dosn't the rock take the queen instead of the other rock ??
At 4:57 why can’t the black knight go to c7 to prevent checkmate?
@ 13:14 why would black capture rook instead of queen?
But do they also have to work knight shift?
6:18 - I felt my pulse quicken when I saw c3 pawn tried to move directly to e1 to become a queen
At 14:42, what if black moved Qd1 instead of a5? It should be winning for black.
Qd1 Rxd1 cxd1 and queening
After Qd1, white can respond with Qc1 to defend.
