    I wear the Troy Lee Designs shirt with a long sleeve summertime shirt that has wicking abilities and it makes it quite a bit easier to remove. Without any under the gear it can be very difficult to remove after a sweaty, hot ride.

    That zipper in the front looks like a great feature. I have been using the GForm shirt and getting it off can be tricky...plus the zipper is like a vent when you unzip it. Thanks for sharing.

      MTB MOR yeah. It is super easy to get on and off. It does make a big difference at the end off the day. The TLD shirt can be a struggle to remove sometimes. Thanks for watching. 🤙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      @@trailsfromthedarkside6460 I find if I rinse my pads off after the ride they don't become too stinky, but it's warm here. Is that something you can do with this?

    • @trailsfromthedarkside6460
      @trailsfromthedarkside6460  4 года назад +1

      All the pads are stitched on too the Fox jacket so no way off rinsing seperate. Also all the pads are hard plastic so no need.

      @@trailsfromthedarkside6460 Sorry, I actually rinse the shirt along with the pads because I don't want to wash it too often. The pads on the G Form aren't removable either. I've only had to wash my G-Form twice and I've worn it over 50 hours of warm riding.

    Another great review and unboxing. I ordered the 7850 to compare to the vest version. I'll keep you posted on how they compare in SoCal. ✌🏼🤟🏼

      As l said in the Fox video.
      I loved the TLD. Rocked it for a year but maybe the shirt version was just a bit restrictive and hella hot.
      Hopefully the vest version addresses both those issues.
      If you can rock it in SoCal you can rock it anywhere.
      Hope you never have to test its protection in anger.

    I have just bough the 2020 fox titan also. Agree the elbows seems worse that the previous model of this jacket, as does the shorter back protector. I must say the xl looks too big for you, I have the xl at 6' 16stone & its way better fitting.

      Mark Cosens. Thanks for the comment.
      Yeah l wasn’t a big fan for the fox which is a shame.
      I’m a bit off a Fox fanboy.
      I made a mistake in the video the fox jacket was an xxl.
      Thats probably why it seems big. Even an xl l don’t think l would be a fan.
      The TLD shirt though l’m a big fan off. Super light and airy.
      Does get sweaty though and a bit ripe after a good day out.
      Ride safe. 🤙🤙

    Great video….think I’m away to go for the TLD, even tho your 6’6” and I’m a mear 5’6”….I will probably just get a different size to you but I do strongly believe the product will be the same just a wee bit wee’r. Thanks for everythin hahaha cheers mate 👍👍

    Nice one. I've purchased a shirt from Bikeinn for the bargain price of £96 quid.
    This is a purchase made after I've fractured my collar bone, I don't want this to happen again.

      Its always good to have some protection bud.
      I’m off the bike at the mo with a separated shoulder.
      I’ve moved onto the Fox Raceframe now.
      A bit more room to move.
      Thanks for watching.

    Greatly appreciate your review! Thank you!! You ride a Specialized turbo levo!!! That’s awesome! I just recently purchased one also. That eMTB is amazing. I love it. It allows me to get back into the sport which I gave up years ago due to age and body degradation. I only found you because Adam Mock recommended you on his channel. I was trying to find reviews for body armor which led me to Adam, then to you. I hope you can respond to my questions. Sounds as though you ended up not really liking the TLD USP 7850 short sleeve because it ended up being too hot and restrictive. Besides being very difficult to remove after sweating. If that is true, what is your go to armor? I just ordered the TLD and will be sending it back when it arrives. I live in Southern California and it gets very hot here. I don’t want to pass out due to heat exhaustion. BTW, I subscribed to your channel and HOLY SHITE!! You’ve got some crazy scary trails where you live! I’m surprised you’re not in a wheelchair permanently! Awesome riding skills! Glad to see you up and riding again from your last MMA eMTB tree cage match! Lol!! Hope to hear from you. Ride safe!
    Best Regards,
    Cesar

      Wow, thanks for the amazing comments Cesar, very much appreciated.
      Yeah, I love Adam’s channel, so nice to see different terrain, and its always so sunny there. 😎
      I rocked the TLD for anout a year l think, it’s good for just trail riding, but it does get hot, even here in Scotland, can’t imagine what it would be like in So Cal.
      Also l didn’t feel overly confident it would protect me in a proper crash, as you say, the stuff we’re riding now can be pretty sketchy.
      I moved to the Fox Proframe armour, much better chest and back protection, but super lightweight and air-y.
      Although it didnt protect my shoulder recentley, lol. Although l don’t think much would’ve saved me.
      The review of the Fox Chesty is on my channel as well.
      Thanks for the support Brother. Ride Safe. 🤙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I ordered a troylee 7850 a few days ago from amazon. I really expect it but don’t you think it is out of style these days protection?

    • @trailsfromthedarkside6460
      @trailsfromthedarkside6460  4 года назад +1

      Doowon Yang l think you will like the troy lee. It’s very comfy once it’s on.
      As for style, it’s not something l really think about that much, when it comes to protection.

    • @trailsfromthedarkside6460
      @trailsfromthedarkside6460  4 года назад +1

      Babd no l wouldn’t. Its great for the trails but is too lightweight for DH in my opinion. The Fox or similar would be better.

      Babd l use the troy lee shirt at the mo, but l really only ride trails. Red and black so no proper DH stuff. The TLD shirt is great for that.

    I know I'm a year or two late to this party but still wondering if you think the TLD 7850 would be sufficient protection for a bike park? Would appreciate your opinion. Thanks for posting the review.

      I don't think it's actually got the any ce level 1 ratings so I don't actually see the point in wearing it?

  • @abelramos8652

    The TLD is better than nothing and feels like youre wear nothing but dont fool yourselves protection on a hard crash is poor.

    • @trailsfromthedarkside6460
      @trailsfromthedarkside6460  4 года назад +2

      Abel Ramos yup. Agreed. Its great for the trails but not for the sketchy DH stuff.

      Trails from the Darkside sometimes when you feel protected you dare to do things you normally dont. The TLD is better than nothing but keep ride the way you use to

    Have never tried Body Armour Mate. How you getting on with the Troy Lee?

    • @trailsfromthedarkside6460
      @trailsfromthedarkside6460  4 года назад +2

      Mark Collingwood l really like it bud. Its super light weight, you don’t notice your wearing it.
      It is a pain to take off after a ride and it does stink afterwards but it just offers that extra bit of security.
      Not sure how it would fare in a major crash but the usual stuff will be fine.
      I don’t bounce back quite as quick as l used to these days.
