I don't know anything about his personal life. But his looks makes me feel amazingly crazy always. I can't find a more handsome man than him in the Korean film industry till today. It's sad that he can't act anymore. Just to look at his beauty I watched winter sonata twice.
Yes. Because of winter sonata” I went to Korea in 2003 looking for him. Of course it is impossible. But I visited places where the both drama was shots. Chunchon high school, the market, the island where they first date.I even jump to those LOG. I went to the Producer office and they say PYJ is in Japan right now. Ohh well. I go to the Hotelier Hotel. I have a breakfast there and some one approach my guide and have a conversation, and she said It is surprise !!! The man was a manager of the hotel. Because they was talking about me coming from Australia looking for BYJ. Do he give us car and driver to give us a-tour where they made the Hotelier Drama. That was my high light of my travel to Korea looking for BYJ. He is a Great Actor. I love him. Now I am 66 years old and still want to meet him in person. May be visit one of his restaurants in Korea one day soon. God give me good health. Love you BYJ.
I first fell in love with Korean dramas because of him. I hope he’s having a wonderful and happy life. I watch winter Senada several times a year. Thank you for the update.
I watched Winter Sonata in 2016. It was my first Korean Drama that I watched. For two years I still cried everytime I watch it again. Bae Young Joon was in his prime, very charming. I watched his other dramas, but to me his role in Winter sonata is the best.

He is one of my favorite actors. Just love him but understand his desire to now have a private life away from the industry. I wish him all the happiness but do miss seeing him on the screen.
Bae Yong Joon has left a legendary body of film work behind him. He made history with his acting, apart from his looks. He also wrote a marvellous book about South Korea with own poetry, when he had the knee injury, and could not film anymore. He always ventured into business successfully. It astounds me, that he is this greedy, and never gets enough money, even if he can’t spend it in this lifetime. And it makes me sad to hearing he would leave his beloved Korean country for the war mongering USA. Hawaii had been captured by the USA. If they would not have agreed to become one of their States, they would have destroyed these beautiful Islands. There is ongoing fights there for independence. Anyway, l don’t care about his current life. His past movies, and series are enough. By the way DREAM HIGH was produced by him, and he had only a cameo in it. Thank you.
