Wow! This takes me back, to when I lived outdoors with some Native American friends. We built our own structures. Fire pit, sweat lodge teepees etc. I'll never forget it. We were there to perform the Okeepa/Sundance ceremony. I can smell that wood and feel the heat of the Sun--smell the fresh food. I am still enjoying your channel very much!

I'm confused - what happened to building the container house? What do they live in while gardening in the tropics? Is this a permanent move or a vacation? Not as interesting when you can't figure out what's going on. I liked the woods and the projects there much better - A short, simple explanation of what's up would be a good opener, rather than cryptic. Just my opinion, of course.
They purchased land in the tropics and are starting to build there also. They will go back and forth to here and Komo Rabi (I’m not sure if I spelled that correctly). They discussed it in a previous video.
I have always loved how you have talked, explained things, showed how and why you do just about everything to Fox in both English and in Japanese since he was a newborn because he is like a sponge taking everything in and has already learned so much about nature, how to plant ,grow , gather, catch the food
That is safe to eat and while also helping to harvest, prepare, cook, dry, store, preserve the various different types of food to eat now and in the future. This is how children had been taught in the past and unfortunately since around the mid 1990s 95+% of parents stopped doing this and it has gotten worse each year after that. As a teacher this has been a terrifying thing to see. The schools can only teach so much and unfortunately most parents and family members have stopped doing their part in educating their children and have sat them down in front of a TV or a screen connected to one type of tech device to keep them entertained so that the parents/adults can do their thing without being distracted from whatever they are doing because they were not taught or shown how to do those things nor the everyday skills needed to navigate through the different day to day challenges each person faces in the real world. The affects of all the different tech devices that have taken over the job of raising a child and teaching the everyday skills, morals, values, social skills, common sense and core knowledge has taken away and is affecting their ability to learn, problem solve, fend for themselves and function in the world. If they don't have a smart phone or some type of technological device to rely on they can't function and even when they do have access they don't know how to verify the the information and many believe everything they see on the internet. The creators of the Internet intended it to be a resource to help people learn and connect with others from around the world. They never wanted it to be used as it has been and they definitely didn't anticipate it becoming the crutch that people can't live without.
Any language is worthy of learning but Jake is teaching Fox Mandarin (Chinese) not Japanese, very smart of him for he is in the proces of learning himself and now also teaches his family and now they are learning together
Komorebi will always be my first love as I started watching you two there when you lived in your van. I love seeing young couples making it off grid in some place that has all four seasons and seeing that it can be done with skill and grace which you had shown over the years. Fox is absolutely adorable and will make an awesome big brother some day.

In my country Jamaica we make a wonderful drink around Christmas time called sorrel we make it with ginger root and red wine (like port wine and a little rum) it is optional though but the ginger makes it delicious.. it also makes a wonderful herbal tea

Hi guys, to make cassava, you add the cassava into a cold water. Let it boil and when it starts to open, you add more cold water We say that you scar the cassava... so it gets soften faster. Then, after draining it you can pour some olive oil... and garlic. You make a sofrito.
Looked like a very "chill" Anole lizard and the second a Gecko. I had a pet Anole lizard, the size of your friend, growing up in Michigan. We got him by mail from Florida. We called him "Pig" because he ate so much, grew big, and lived a long time. He often did the dewlap head bob dance.❣Your son will enjoy so many wild creatures as he grows up in nature.
Plant starts are almost 5.00 each now at walmart. I started my plant starts today in my living room. Still have some more to plant. Winter here. I did lots of winter squash, cabbages, peppers, watermelons. Different colors, purple cabbages, purple Brussels sprouts, purple kohlrabi, collards, still have tomatoes, basils, etc. plus I will plant in radishes, lettuces etc in spring.

Hi guys, to make cassava, you add the cassava into a cold water. Let it boil and when it starts to open, you add more cold water We say that you scar the cassava... so it gets soften faster. Then, after draining it you can pour some olive oil... and garlic. You make a sofrito.

Looked like a very "chill" Anole lizard and the second a Gecko. I had a pet Anole lizard, the size of your friend, growing up in Michigan. We got him by mail from Florida. We called him "Pig" because he ate so much, grew big, and lived a long time. He often did the dewlap head bob dance.❣Your son will enjoy so many wild creatures as he grows up in nature.

Plant starts are almost 5.00 each now at walmart. I started my plant starts today in my living room. Still have some more to plant. Winter here. I did lots of winter squash, cabbages, peppers, watermelons. Different colors, purple cabbages, purple Brussels sprouts, purple kohlrabi, collards, still have tomatoes, basils, etc. plus I will plant in radishes, lettuces etc in spring.
