I live in Palm Beach and I have been thinking of buying a boat to live aboard and explore. Are there Marianas in the PB area that allow you to live aboard. Also this grandbanks, can it travel out to the Bahamas or virgin islands?.

Did you find out where the livaboard marinas are? I know of one in Hollywood,FL. Can you shoot me a feedback on any marina info? Thanks.

Too bad, as "Cats don't like water." But with all that weight, at only 435hp each it would be easy to re-power with Yanmar 6's, no need to go to a large 6 like MAN because the resistance curve of this boat runs into a wall and more power will only suck down more fuel with little to no gain in speed.

Never liked how so many builders used 3208's, they are throw away engines. I would go with a Cummins 6 myself. A pair of Cummins 8.3's would be sweet sitting in that engine room.

@@josephkordinak1591 Know what you mean about Cats, but it's best to get something designed for marine use to begin with. Yanmars may not be big enough for the preferred rating in such a semi displacement hull, but MAN were built to run continuously for really long periods of time - and of course that as Rudolph Diesel's company in the beginning. But I have never heard such smooth or quieter running engines at any speed. No affiliation, I just did a lot of studies before choosing.

Cat 3208 ‘s are the best. No reason to repower.

@@josephkordinak1591 they used them because they are excellent. I would never use a Cummins.

@@hessranch well if I ever get a boat with throw away 3208's I will give you a call and you can have them. I would never put an engine in a larger boat that wasn't sleeved.
