Funny, thats what brought me back to this video, I was at a KMFDM show a few nights ago and while washing my hands in the venues bathroom I noticed a girl next to me had a birthday massacre pop socket on her phone. After complimenting her on it, she mentioned she was in this video, I believe she said she was number" 33". Can't remember now but thought that was cool, lol. The birthday massacre has been one of my faves for about 20 years now, definitely must be a cool memory to be in one of their videos 💜

2020 and still a big band in my eyes. They rocked my ears for over a decade!
Celldweller is probably the only other artist I can name off-hand that fuses electronica and traditional instrumentation this well. Been rocking TBM for over a decade.
Went out to see 'em last year. Let's just say I was a bit too excited, and got too damn hammered which led me to leave the venue early. Ended up on a different side of town shortly after, trying to nap on the side of the road in some desert landscaping (ended up getting covered by ants). Anyhow! Wish that I seen their entire performance. One of my honest regrets in life.

This song is about feeling caged with the deep feelings you have for someone who keeps hurting you over and over again. Even though you see it coming, you can’t defend yourself from the pain they are about to inflict yet you continue to take their abuse because you love them. I’m sorry for anyone relating to this song. I hope all of you find someone who treats you well.

basically, the student has a crush on the teacher and holds him in a very high regard. the teacher, at first, seems to be living up to that and seems very kind and sweet, but as she learns more she finds hes been feeding all of his students lies and abusing them. when she finds out whats happening isnt normal, she doesnt know what to do and tries to confront him. thats when chibi gives her the poison apple and she gives the apple to the teacher.

This song is basically about admiring someone and they don't return the admiration. And you get so exhausted from continuously convincing yourself you have a chance over and over again until the hope fades into nothingness and you come out the other side realizing you're beautiful and amazing, and don't need the approval or attention of some person you're infatuated with.

This band is so awesome. Love all of their albums, since their music gives me those special vibes I can't even describe.
They deserve so much more attention The Birthday Massacre is a gem meaningful lyrics and just beautifully sounded.
Even after Chibi had her operation she still sings perfect… I saw them at The Old Underground in Hotlanta…n Hell I think…killed it as usual!
It's one of those edgy bands you can still listen to after your edgy phase is over.
I love how light-hearted they sound, yet once you listen closely to the lyrics you see a deeper meaning that is much darker than it first seems.
My sibling, although she doesn't listen to them, says that their lyrics are amazing and extremely creative.
I'm proud to say I'm a huge fan of TBM, I own all of their songs and memorized the majority. I hope they continue for years to come.

I have been listening to gothic music and learning more about the subculture as I have been interested with this stuff for ages now, I have been in LOVE with rock and metal for a long time so gothic rock is definitely my thing, other genres of the gothic music has also been really nice to listen to, I have also been loving the style and how welcoming it makes me feel. It makes me feel I can express my true self, it makes me feel at home. It’s such a nice comfort feeling. ❤

This isn’t gothic. Gothic Goth would be be bands like Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Christian death, Rosetta Stone,Bahaus, Sisters of mercy, Specimen,Acid Bats etc. The TikTok is full of misinformation and that’s the problem. Deftones is definitely not “ goth” either. I saw someone say they were “ goth “ and I died inside. Not trying to gatekeep, but TikTok has done massive damage with misinformation and people have to be corrected. Of course you can like more than one genre. Good music is good music, but let’s call it what it is. This is more like synth pop alt metal/rock
@@firecrystal13 No you're wrong the Cure Sisters of Mercy and Bahaus would highly disagree with being called goth and find the term offensive as they're not goth bands. You need to be looking at bands like Black Tape for a Blue girl, or Lycia.
2022 and still loving this song AND this band, saw them in Nottingham on the 9th and they were fabulous and Chibi really interacts with the audience which I love when artists do that ❤️ I just wish they had more recognition because they deserve it.
I have followed them since 2005 and I still listen to them. I love that they are still present. A big hug from Uruguay. Hopefully one day I can see them live as I have done with Rata Blanca among other bands in the region.

But unlike other bands like that, when you come back to TBM after a long time, you're like "HOLY SHIT THIS IS A LOT BETTER THAN I REMEMBER!"

This song is so relatable as a victim of sexual harassment from a trusted professor. I have recently reported him and now this song has become my method of healing.
Hali Muller I am sorry you had to go through this. None of those things should ever happen to anyone. If I went through sexual harassment in college 2 yrs later or something, I would definitely tell my mother, a caretaker, or any other adult that I trust. And somehow, long after reporting whoever it would be (which sexual harassment is uncool), my main method of healing would be lots of therapy once a week, and the songs that would help me get through the healing process would be this, along with "Monster" by Meg and Dia, "Before I'm Dead" by The Kidney Thieves and "Spade" by Marilyn Manson. Like I said before, I'm sorry you had to go through all of this, and a year's passed since you had written that comment. I hope you are doing better ❤️

Why can't people just comment purley on how amazing this video is? It's genius. It's not something you can explain you just watch and know. The lyrics and the concept conect symetrically-bowing down and giving up everything you have to another being be it may the person you're in a relationship with or a God. You're blinded by your love for them but it's a false love or "false devotion" because they want you to believe their lies until you're left broken with nothing.
I met this girl on MySpace, and she ended up being really good friends with me. She told me I reminded her of Chibi from The Birthday Massacre. If it weren’t for her, I would never of known of this amazing band. We lost touch, so I’ll always think of her when I listen to this. ❤️
