They were legit like going to a party in 3rd grade. Like we all went to a different room and got to buy shit and mill around and socialize? It’s practically it’s own mini market for elementary schoolers
They are! There’s a school in a nearby district that i drive by a lot and they currently have a banner out for Scholastic Bookfair. I used to get my goosebumps books from it
My pops always tried making sure a had a few bucks to get something because my ma always pre ordered everything so I just had to pick it up (lame sauce, lol)
I used to LOVE the Schoolastic book fair! We also had these things every month or two that kind of looked like a newspaper circular, but you could order books. I don't know if anyone else remembers them, but you'd fill out the form on it, return it to your teacher with the money, & receive it a few weeks later
Lmfao stop 😂 I hoarded so many erasers from the school store I’m still using them to this day 😂 in my defense though they’re still the best erasers I’ve ever found 🤷🏼♀️
@@kattriella1331 scholastic book fairs started in 1981…. I think they were integral in a lot of people’s childhoods who were able to experience them lmao
Loved those book fairs! I remember walking to the bus stop we were poor so I never really could get anything more than 5 bucks and I looked down and found a 20 bill! Best day EVER
If I had a chance to go back in time, I’d pick a day where we had the book fair or the times we had Santa’s workshop where we bought cheap gifts for family members. Those were the days 🥲
OMG YES!! I was literally just thinking about the Santa’s Workshop stuff. I bought so many cool things there omg. That was like the BEST for Secret Santa for my family. Us 5 kids would pick out of a hat and get one of us and then usually I’d try to get stuff for my mom and dad as well. Omg the memories 🥺😭 I would definitely pick that as well ☺️ edit- spelling
i always wanted them but my mother had a strict rule of "only comes home with bokks. just books." i thought she would throw out anything else i got- though i still dont really know what she wouldve done😭
I’ve been running Scholastic Book Fairs in my school library since 2008. I remember that dolphin poster. The pointers are still popular. I’m disappointed you didn’t put in the UV Light Pens. Those are still as popular as ever, too.
My parents never gave me extra money for the book fairs, so I couldn’t afford to buy anything, but maybe erasers. Now, I buy a planner every year with stickers, a ton of books from the thrift stores, and DIY kits I’m sure these things are unrelated. 🙃😂
My grade school had a secret santa shop for Christmas where we could get our gifts for everyone. Pretty cheap silly things but I always had so much fun shopping in it. And my mom always volunteered at it so she told me to pick out her gift with my eyes and then she would leave the room while I purchased it. That was such a great idea of the school imo
Omgggg the scholastic shops I loved those my mom would give me money for books and I would spend it on the randomize crap haha that’s also where I learned about tax 😢
I knew exactly where this was going before it got there and YES! And those gift shop things where you could buy stuff like #1 dad trophies for Christmas.
The book fair was something to look forward to. The best one was when Harry Potter books first edition dropped in the States, and it was all over the news.
It’s literally the fact that I am far from being a millennial but I still by random things and also I’m gen z and we had the scholastic book fair too lol
We are doing a scholastic book fair at our preschool and I specifically put all the books that included toys away lol. Gotta love that weird stuff they try and sell!
Yep and my 10 year old just spent all her allowance money at the book fair. She might go back today for more stuff. She’s like buying her friends pencils, fuzzy and glittery notebooks, oh and don’t forget the poster!
The scholastic book fair lady comes by once every 2 months but ofc the book ordering pamphlet is once a month. I’ve bought so much books per month for the 4yrs I went to that school she recognised me and always give me some freebies from other stuff lol
My kids ask me for money to go to the book fair now loll I went with them and man it's just not the same... although my daughter did get a notebook with moving sparkles in gel on the front cover and a scented eraser.
Brooo 😂😂😂😂 used to go back to class FLEXINNNNGG on the broke kids….. like myself lmaoooo. they used to ruin my whole day 😂 my momma ain’t never give me enough money to take to school for that fair. It was lunch or posters & I was hungry 😂😂
Don’t forget the diary with a lock on it
I always lost the key 😭 could never get in them until they came out with that password journal you could unlock with your voice lmao
All the keys are the same for every diary so the lock was pointless really
I think I had a collection of like 10 different ones that I literally never used. They just were fun to have!
Lmao I still have mine from when I was ten. 😂 It’s purple and furry with sparkles.
I used a Bobby pen to open it I was a smart kid
When u actually looked forward to the school booksales, not just to get outta class BUT because they were actually dope to have
I’m so mad that high schools don’t have em, like C’MON if any student grade is gonna have their own money it’s gonna be the high schoolers-
@@BB-TheCandleFairy true doe- all of the primary schools where I live still do it, but none of the other schools in my area do.
Seriously they need to Make one for us

Scholastic book fair girlies turned into teen mall rats then grew into target as a hobby women🤣
You didn't have to read me like that 😂😂
And grow up to be elderly women on TLC's Hoarders
Omfg you're right😂
GUILTY
Ayeeee
Shoutout to Scholastic for making our childhoods so fun those days, I hope they're still having book fairs for the current young generation
We didn't have book fairs but we could order through a catalog. Their stuff was dope.
They are! There’s a school in a nearby district that i drive by a lot and they currently have a banner out for Scholastic Bookfair. I used to get my goosebumps books from it
That's where my love for book scents started 😭😩
Omg yes 👍
They do!
Whenever I see them advertised outside schools I always get the urge to go ask if I can peruse for nostalgia sake
I’m not a millennial but when I was in elementary the only thing I would buy at the book fairs was phone erasers and chocolate calculators 😭
Yesss the chocolate calculators 😭
Omg yes! And the invisible ink pens!
same and lip gloss
Me too
Never really buy a book only when ur mom made u
the only part missing is your mom won't let you buy them
My school did the sales during the school day so there were no parents to tell us we couldn’t spend the money on stupid things😂 we had free reign lol
@@gwenculver1040 if you had pocket money as a kid you were already ahead of the game 😂
