bro i use same method with jdk 20 and after that when i run java --version it gives me this error Unrecognized option: --version Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
damn this is a actually a great step by step tutorial. i usually get confused and have to go back like 3-4 times with each step but this time i actually understood what he was saying. I salute you brotha
I've had this issue where it can't read the document when you are doing the javac part. Here is the fix that I found worked: Go to Control Panel by searching for it in the start menu. Go to Appearance and Personalization Go to Folder/File Explorer Options Click View In advanced settings, go to Hide extensions for known file types Uncheck that Go back to the text document and remove the .txt so its only .java. Hope this helps!!❤

at first it didn't work because i forgot to close the java installation(the one with the next step button & close java) after closing it actually worked in the command prompt, i got scared for a second there. anyways, thanks man!!! really appreciate you doing this you helped a lot of people like me!!

WOW, after lots of search to find a fix for my problem with Java, your site is the only one that actually solved my problem. BTW, I originally deleted all signs of Java before trying to install the latest update. I think I lost "Java Home" in the process. Thx so much
My class(online) never even said i needed to download this. I had to search a lot to find it. I had already downloaded intellij IDEA community version but there was no class to choose as an option. It said I had no sdk. I came here to see how to download it. I'm glad i did. I didn't know had to do that whole path thing. Thank you. I will subscribe cause you're really good and clear. Did i have to add a path when I downloaded intellj? I'm very new at this.

Followed step by step but receiving 'error: file not found: HelloWorld.java' when trying to create the class. Any ideas? ETA - Figured out I had hidden extensions. Once I disabled that setting, I was able to update the file extension to .java and everything worked as expected.

after trying the cmd ..it's saying java is not recognized..what should i do now?? can you please help me?
look if u typed "System.out.println("Hello World!!"); correctly" for me it was the same error because i typed system instead of System
