Pre-treated in a 1,000 gallon aerobic tank, then to a 1,000 gallon pump chamber, the effluent is so clean it is ready for ground water after just 12" of soil under the drip tubes, and I'm near Seattle where too much water in the soil is the main problem for sewage treatment.

To Be fairly look at reality In 1967, Israel seized control of all water resources in the newly occupied territories. To this day, it retains exclusive control over all the water resources that lie between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, with the exception of a short section of the coastal aquifer that runs under the Gaza Strip. Israel uses the water as it sees fit, ignoring the needs of Palestinians in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip to such an extent that both areas suffer from a severe water shortage. In each of them, residents are not supplied enough water; in Gaza, even the water that is supplied is substandard and unfit for drinking. The right to water and sanitation is a fundamental human right enshrined in international conventions. As Israel is a signatory to these conventions, it is obliged to uphold this right in all the territories it controls.

very impressive, it seems they produce most of their own food despite the harsh environment. Maybe they're lucky they never had oil to depend on. The whole network looks very expensive and I wonder what the replacement cycle is for some of the stuff like the drip irrigation. Probably not for every country, but works well for them. The food security is probably worth as much as their defense security to them.

irrigation+rainfall = evaporation + transpiration + runoff + leaching Which one of these processes do Farmers really have control over during the growing season? If you have the ability to irrigate your sandy soils and water is cheap and plentiful, then you are fortunate and have some control on the left side of the equation. If you do not have irrigation, you must look at the factors on the right side of the equation to see what can be controlled or minimized to benefit your crop. Evaporation from the soil surface can be reduced with mulch or leaving crop residue on the soil surface. Transpiration is a function of the plant leaf surface area and the weather. Runoff is or should be minimal in sandy textured soils with high percolation rates. This leaves the leaching of water out of the root zone as the #1 controllable loss of moisture to your crop. Interrupting the downward movement of moisture in your soil by installing a "smart" barrier can greatly reduce the leaching of water and nutrients. SWRT subsurface membranes detain/retain up to 90% of irrigation or rainfall in the root zone for crop use by disrupting the gravitational movement of water in the soil while still allowing excess water to percolate and do not create anaerobic soil conditions.

It is not even 1% of Israel's GDP, Israel could easily do without it. 2. oil prices A strong state of Israel is an American interest because a weak Israel would tempt middle east Arab countries to attack Israel, a war that would result in rising oil prices and a damage to the American economy that is ten folds higher than the cost of inefficiencies in giving subsidies to the American military and aviation industries. We have been through this scenario on 1974 with the oil crisis, this was the time the US started supporting Israel, not just be positive about it. The invested budget is 0.4% of USA's defense budget and the goals are achieved without the involvement of a single American soldier on. 3.weapon sales Israel is surrounded by hostile Arab enemies, some of them sitting on trillions of petroleum money, arming Israel entices them to buy weapons KSA is #1 purchaser globally, 9.3B on 2015, 33B to the Arab gulf states. In other words, fueling Israel amplifies sales to its enemies more than tenfold the cost of arming Israel. A cynical game. 4. Another goal of the industry is to block the Israeli industry from competing, Israel could have been a major competitor due to Israel's advanced technological capabilities and good reputation based on well proven battle field experience. It also enables the US to veto Israeli weapons sales. 5. These are funds that are limited into buying goods from US industry only. It is practically a subsidy to the industry promoted by industry lobbyists, congressmen that want more jobs in their constituency, and evil Zionist AIPAC. 6. 50B FMS money is spent on the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, Egypt and many other countries, budgets data can be easily found on web sites of the Secretary of State. It is one of the tools used by the office in international politics, a political leverage tool. There are many other reasons, like common values and will of (most) the people, but it is justified economically anyway. this video is really informative and highlights some impressive advancements. however, i can't help but wonder if the focus on technology overshadows the importance of traditional farming practices. should we be concerned that modern methods might be leaving some communities behind?
For 15 years I've been installing Subsurface Drip Irrigation septic system, when soils are too shallow to put anything else in. Most of the tech was developed in Israel.

In 1967, Israel seized control of all water resources in the newly occupied territories.

The food security is probably worth as much as their defense security to them.

irrigation+rainfall = evaporation + transpiration + runoff + leaching
Which one of these processes do Farmers really have control over during the growing season?
Brilliant!
South Africa needs these, thanks for the knowledge shared

USA is working for its own interests. It is all about oil prices, weapon sales and global power for the USA.
1. It is not even 1% of Israel's GDP, Israel could easily do without it.
2. oil prices
A strong state of Israel is an American interest because a weak Israel would tempt middle east Arab countries to attack Israel, a war that would result in rising oil prices and a damage to the American economy that is ten folds higher than the cost of inefficiencies in giving subsidies to the American military and aviation industries. We have been through this scenario on 1974 with the oil crisis, this was the time the US started supporting Israel, not just be positive about it. The invested budget is 0.4% of USA's defense budget and the goals are achieved without the involvement of a single American soldier on.
3.weapon sales
Israel is surrounded by hostile Arab enemies, some of them sitting on trillions of petroleum money, arming Israel entices them to buy weapons KSA is #1 purchaser globally, 9.3B on 2015, 33B to the Arab gulf states.
Don't be naïve US leaders are not naïve neither stupid, international policy is all about interests.
Amazing, innovative, and inspirational example of water crisis management and agriculture development to all levels. 🎉🎉 God bless Israel richly and abundantly in everything they do 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇱
