The proximity between you and the camera as well as the angle and the way you would tilt your head brings another level of intimacy with the audience. Lighting was warm too. I commend you on this video. 👍

These types of personal attention videos with close up whispering are so tingle inducing and so relaxing! And this one is perfectly done! Awesome video Nicole! So glad your still making videos :)
Background noise can be reduced just by hanging lots of blankets, sheets and towels over the windows and over the walls and between the microphone and the computer fan. Or you can create a sound fort by hanging all this stuff over a table and getting under it. Just something I learned in sound and music recording classes.
+ThisIsItBING They will block some degree of high frequency sound, but the lower frequencies defract around surfaces. Hung around the walls they will decrease reverberation.
There are a lot of strategies for combating the various types of noise that makes its way onto an audio recording. One of the simple ways to cut down on a lot of sounds is to use a cardioid microphone and point it in the direction of the speaker, but away from the direction of any offending noises (fans etc.). Cardioid microphones receive sound very poorly in the opposite direction from their intended use. The fort-building is called "baffling" and is a very useful technique, in particular for recording loud guitar amps.
