Qawwali(s), religious poetry, songs are loaded with messages of shirk, like asking help from other than Allah.
And mixing God and spiritual saints in the name of mysticism.
Such concepts have entered Muslims from the the local idol worship cultures.
Many Muslims specially in the subcontinent or where there is influence of the mystic oriented people of the subcontinent. Their version of Islamic practice is different from the beliefs & practices from the 23 revelation life years.
It is not uncommon to elevate spiritual people of the present and past to the extent of hoping to get divine help from them. This is shirk.
Muslims go to graves and and hope to get divine blessing or help from other than Allah or mix up the two sources and believe & hope divine help or mercy through the person I the grave.
These kind of things did not happen in the 23 revelation life years.
This is all from post 23 revelation life years events.
I urge all Muslims to stick only to the original 23 revelation life years and this is the only way to salvation.
Allah alone we worship

If you trully accept islam the faith can stop you listening to music those with lose faith listen to
Music not good for the soul.
Then in what statement after this (the Qur'an) will they believe? (QS Al Mursalat: 50)
The Unbelievers say: "Listen not to this Qur'an, but talk at random in the midst of its (reading), that ye may gain the upper hand!" (QS Al Fussilat: 26)
And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e.music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Qur'an) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire).(QS Luqman: 6)
We have not instructed the (Prophet) in Poetry, nor is it meet for him: this is no less than a Message and a Qur'an making things clear.(QS Yasin: 69)
Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned.(QS Asy Syu'araa: 227)
If the messenger of Allah, May peace be upon him, had allowed music in his 23 revelation life years with his followers then we would have heard in Hadith about sahaba engaged in the business of buying and selling music instruments,
we would have heard in Hadith about sahaba who played some music instrument very well and the the messenger of Allah liking it just like he liked the voice or recitation of certain sahaba and praised it.
To believe in claims related to past we should also look at the succeeding events to believe it, if the claim or accusation is valid or not,
so the Hadith confirms the claim related to the poetry and beautiful recitation.
The fact nothing was in that culture or immediately succeeding culture tells us the messenger of Allah did not allow or promote music and none of the followers played or traded in music instruments,
& none of the time they got together and enjoyed music. There is no evidence.
None of the sahabiyaat played music.
We do hear about beautiful recitation from some sahaba , religious poetry. So, there is an evidence.
Allah knows best, none of us.
