I’ve been on quite a few pack in hunts. For your first hunt you should not be disappointed. If you are in elk most days, that is success. Eventually you will connect. Over the counter elk hunting is tough. Great video guys! I wasn’t disappointed that there wasn’t a kill, but I’m sure you were. Keep at it and you will connect.

Just stumbled on your page, ill be watching all these this weekend. You mentioned at one point that you are not sure if the viewers would care because you did not get much action. Well, im here to tell you that i have done 3 of these hunts and yours had way more action than all if mine combined! It was an awesome adventure and i look forward to see more. I will be going on my forth in sept this year, 2024!

Great video I enjoyed watching it! Elk hunting archery in Colorado is no joke. It is so much harder than it looks when you’re watching videos of people being successful you have to make perfect decisions at the perfect time to get on them and actually get a shot! They say the average archery Hunter on public land, It takes 5 to 7 years to be successful, you guys did really good!! Good luck in the future. You’ll definitely get it done It’s just a matter of time🤟

I was going on my first elk hunt in 2021 and caught covid the day my tags arrived in the mail. I didn't get to go. But I will be going this September to Colorado with an OTC tag. This film inspires me. I'm hoping to just see an elk. If I don't I will still enjoy the adventure. I'm 58 years old and have been dreaming of elk hunting for over half my life.

There have been many years of elk hunting I've never seen an elk but I continue to go. When I started elk hunting they were more scarce than they are now. Where I live it can be easier to get a bull elk than it is to get a buck deer. Like Randy Newburg says, "Hunt the burns".

Great video I enjoyed it personally as I'm going on my very first Elk trip this October for 2nd rifle. As far as there not being much action, there was a Ton of action just the experience alone will have me pumped up because I've waited my entire life to do this. You caught Trout from a pond in the middle of nowhere and had a good meal, for me the act of easing the trigger is actually a bonus. Hunting is about the time we spend with some of our dearest friends and enjoying Mother and all she has to offer us and most people will never get to experience that. I'm so looking forward to having to work just to breath in air and to see the sunset over the hills thanks for taking us along.

The action is exciting but if you just had short clips of kill shots, it wouldn’t tell a good story (like you two did here). Keep them coming!

Ida been disappointed if you’d stumbled upon and killed a bull! You gotta put in your years of blood, sweat and tears to earn one! Then, when you are faced with a bull…you’ll be shaking, sweating, heart pounding out of your chest as you draw back in preparation for your first shot! If you keep it together and get lucky…you’ll likely cry your heart out in gratitude. It not over till you set your last load of meat down on your last trip out and you can understand the enormity of your commitment and success!

Looking back this trip went way better than I thought it might.. We were in elk, and almost always in the game. Learn how to make your bugles and cow calls immature sounding especially to herd bulls. Also if your going to growl before you bugle just do it. That thump you have at the beginning of your bugle will push or keep bulls at a distance so remember to make your calls sound like immature bulls and cows and bulls will come in closer.
