Oh my god, I rented a car for the first time in Korea a few months ago and I drove in Busan with my girlfriend. Even with Naver maps and the cars navigation I got lost so many times especially when I was trying to get to Hauendae from Songdo beach. Also the drivers in Busan are very very aggressive compared to what I am used to, especially the taxi drivers! I always did my best to stay out of their way at all times. A lot of times I felt lost at intersections because its not always so clear which lane I need to be in to go a certain way. We survived though and drove all the way from Busan to Seoul for a cross-country roadtrip. I will say that once I left Busan driving in Korea was very easy and relaxing! The highways are in amazing condition and it was fun to get ramyeon at the highway rest stops. I think if I ever visit Busan again though I will just stick to a taxi😄

Busan is also crowded in some area like Seoul, but not that much. :)
Busan drivers are notorious for being aggressive and lawless on the road lol glad you made the trip safely!
