Every time an Alexandrian citizen went "thank you for freeing us from Zoraal Ja's tyranny! also, we're currently mourning Sphene who died under mysterious circumstances!" I imagined my WoL just sweating nervously.

I do like how this is a more cheerful version of Wicked Thunder's theme. The younger sister who still has big dreams
Also, they both summon clones of themselves during the fight, which Honey B. Lovely and the Brute Bomber don't do.
Also, they both have an arena made up of a 4x4 grid, and will shatter sections of that grid during the fight.
this shows the similarities and differences between the sisters. Eutrope taught Yanna how to survive, hence they have the same melody. But the genre of both songs are quite different, played by mostly different instruments. Eutrope is metal, very guitar heavy. But in Yanna's theme, part of the chorus melody is still guitar, and there are still guitar backing behind occasionally.
Also the Yanna melody is played mostly with violin, Eutrope melody is sang. This shows Eutrope's character is way stronger and more developed, and the lyrics show how desperate and selfish she is. (Yanna pointed this out)

This hit so much harder after 4th floor
She's walking the same path as her sister and don't even know she's doomed if she keep using her power
The music is pretty cheerful but the violin make it feel weardly melancholic, and with this theme having the same motif from 4th floor's theme, it secretly tell us a lot about her destiny if we don't step up in arcadion
Also about her feeling inadequate and in the shadow of her stronger and more successful older sister. Which I think many younger siblings can relate to.
This whole tier just screams "fun". Perfect raids for Dawntrail after Pandemonium

@XelnasTV Except it can't heal them. They've basically revealed that they need especially dense souls, which, unless someone is rejoined, I doubt they'll have in spades.

it's wild how the happy, upbeat vibe of this track feels so bittersweet after you've done M4

Metem easily solidified this raid as a personal favorite. Calling out my LB 3 to raise people as well as my blunders was awesome
They threw Persona 5 and ARMS into a blender with some Falcom violin.

It's crazy how the same melodies and motifs have such different vibes between the green room theme, this, and Floor 4! Soken and his team's addiction to leitmotifs strike yet again, lol
The dawntrail theme motifs got old real quick for me tho cause it's too noticeable if that makes any sense, the motif for these songs sound alot more natural like with past expansion motifs as well

so that tank buster "biscuit maker" apparently is a cat behavior when they're pushing their paws in and out in a furniture or anything soft like kneading dough. in savage, its a tank swap mechanic cuz she makes the first tank "soft" enough for her to kill you with her second attack. Genius
I already liked how funky the music was, but then there comes the chanting. Oh my god, the vibe is perfect. Pair that with the dynamic announcer praising or roasting you and the entertaining fight and you get a perfect first raid encounter.
This just hypes you up for the fight

I love how infectiously upbeat this is, it really gets you in the mood for the raid. Also really cute that, as well as the chanting, you can hear the crowd clapping along to the beat in the quieter section just before the loop :)

Queen B was a songstress. I’m really hoping we get an Otherworld cover at some point. They could be saving X for something else. But Solution 9 gives off so many Zanarkand vibes, I’d be disappointed if we don’t get a Jecht moment.
The strings near the start definitely make me think of Let Me Blow You a Kiss
Out of all of the DT raid themes, this is the one that has grown on me the most; I have always really liked M2 and M4, and M3 is fine, but this one I daresay is right up there with the other two...heck I may actually like it more than M4. If "Smile" is the wrong way to approach how to do an upbeat theme for XIV, this is definitely the right way.

I would love if, at all, by the end of this Raid Series we get to transform at least once.
This is the perfect setup. Imagine a finale centered around being transformed and beating the shit out of the big bad. From what we find out about those transformations they seem to be dangerous and taking the soul of whoever uses them, but surely they can come up with a way to make us big even if just for a few mechanics.

I used to do it but then i turned it off for savage because my static couldnt tell what was happening in my recordings and i havent gone back
I had to turn it off when I started doing the 24 man raids. Everything was completely unreadable. Haven't gone back since.

@@john_7000 i don't know how to keep telling you people that persona 5 did not invent a new genre of music and that an unbelievable amount of stuff Sounds Like this. video games are largely pastiche from other forms of media, and persona is basically the opposite of an exception to this rule.

These two songs are remixes/arrangements of one another. Makes sense, given this whole starting plot is about the sisters. The lobby/gym theme is also another arrangement 😊

Can I just say how happy I am that we finally have a raid boss again whose hitbox isn't the size of the entire stage? Even Shadowbringers gave extra girth. I don't think we've seen a raid boss with a hitbox this small since Kefka. Can't wait to see how melee uptime looks in the Savage. Almost certainly gonna see T+R, H+M partners this tier again.
Edited, but most of Eden fights had the same hitbox size as this. Endwalker really blew up the hitbox sizes for some reason.

This reminds me so much of ARMS theme 🔥
The crowd singing in time with the music reminds me of the main theme of ARMS.
As for the fight, it’s more fun than I figured it would be.
As soon as I dropped into this fight and the chanting kicked on I audibly went "oh he'll yea" and knew these raids were gonna slap.
We got a glimpse of this in the live letter and it's already pretty different from what we have usually. I think this is Soken himself or maybe Imamura?

The jazzy beat really reminds me of Persona 5
Apparently we're just going to ignore that it's a mega mash of:
• Persona 5
• Pokemon SW & SH
• Trails of Cold Steel
This is the fourth member of ff10-2 that didnt make the cut using a berserker dressphere and you cant change my mind.
Feasibly this could have been the track for all of the Light-Heavyweight Division minus M4, but of course Soken is cracked out of his mind and gave every single raid tier a unique theme.
they got to give that WWE feeling after all with each wrestler having their own theme and intro.
I can only hope it continues. It makes each fight way more memorable and makes the characters distinct. And I say that as someone who loved Scream and The Tireless One.
What in the Pokemon Sword and Shield is this Elite 4 Theme
They were an Elite Four, alright
It wasn't an Elite Four...the Pokémon League in Sword and Sheild was a Tournament Arc.
There seem to be one difference between this and M4 themes in terms of chord progression that may carry some symbolism
The "chorus" part of M1 ends with a major chord ( 1:52 ish in this vid), while M4 has a minor one ( hits around 2:10 in the m4 theme on this channel, in "vi" part of "survive").
