I Bought this Exact Snare Drum from Memphis Drum Shop about 4 Month's ago and I would say it's the Best Investment I Have Made. Kudos to Memphis Drum Shop.
Agree! Love tuning my snares to medium. I like to crank the side head but not too much and to have the batter pretty medium. Don't like it too ringy. Usually prefer muffled rim shots with barely any ring but recently got this exact snare and gotta say on a brass snare a slight ring actually sounds great
Pearl just saved me some money with this one. I pulled a lot of snares off of the shelf of my local shop without looking at the prices. Ludwigs, Yamahas, Noble & Cooleys, Pearls, etc. This was the one that stood out to my ears. I remember falling in love with the old Steve Ferrone Pearl snare when I was in high school. If my memory serves me this sounds similar/the same.
Just picked this snare up after years working with my old Ludwig 14x6.5 Superphonic snare and a variety of custom built Bubinga wood snare drums, but snare sounds so close to the famed Ludwig vintage Black Beauty, I think I'm done with snares. This pearl snare sounds good just as it comes, but I put an Evans genera Dry batter head and the Puresound Super30 wires on it and it's got a fat bite...Love it, thank you Pearl from Bob Drummer for Far Past Dark.
El tambor es muy bueno pero la afinación más grave desmerece al excelente sonido que desarolla en afinación media y alta!!! No creo que nadie use una afinación tan baja.

I believe it's the same snare but the Ferrone one had brass hoops and tube lugs.. I think I read somewhere the shell was slightly heavier.
