A trick I figured out when I want to velcro a stem to a stake that isn't right next to it, is to first wrap the velcro tie tightly to the stake so it won't slide, and then use the excess to go around the stem and back onto the velcro already on the stake. A bit hard to explain, so I hope that made sense! haha
You are super knowledgeable about plants I would definitely do this if I had a super big billietiae hopefully my little one will grow fingers crossed 🤞absolutely beautiful plants.

I feel exactly like you, and feel sorry for ailing plants so keep them forever. Sometimes, like my baby's breath, it actually works. I had literally 3 tiny leaves and now it's a huge bushy thing flowing down to the floor. I have a Hope Philodendromn that is even more enormous than yours. HUGE leaves that go down to the floor and when I stake THOSE leaves there are small leaves in the middle get squashed.
