It’s always nice to get an unboxing, demonstration and full review in one video. I love all of the comprehensive and long term testing that went into this video.
I agree, this is a a great heater Love that the starter clicking stops after about 5 seconds unlike a propane heater I had before which clicked the entire time it would run which got OLD.. I also agree about the propane adapter. Female plug would be much perfered.
That's a really nice heater. It looks damn good. If the price of Propane was more cost effective in my area, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. As for now, I'm running multifuel and Propane tank top heaters.
+Rob's Wrenches yeah, I have a few places they can fill or exchange tanks for us, so it's not to bad. I think this is going to be perfect for winter. Thanks for the comment Bob, and keep it up with your great videos
Great review. I’ve always believed that the “heats in the tools” and in order to stay warm you need to get moving. Sometimes though it’s too damn cold and I’m working in one place.
Gas bottles in some other countries do not have the external male thread. They only have the internal female fitting on the bottle. Thus I suspect it saves them cost in making only one hose for the majority of markets. That's assuming the male thread on the supplied hose is the same as other countries use. Rigid/AEG haven't released this in Australia yet :(
I had one last winter, when took out of storage the next season it wouldn't stay on don't if it was a bad model, but had the same problem with the DeWalt version
Yeah, I did a revision on this heater and based them because I also had two go bad with the same issue you stated. They actually fixed the issue and this one has been working fine for over a year
@@ToolReviewZone I bought o e from direct tools Over the weekend we’ll see how long this one will last they don’t last long I know it’s probably a flame sensor or something but ridgid made it difficult to repair
@@ToolReviewZone I called ridgid For One for the same issue on one of them they replaced it and another one was sold Out and they sent me a check it was from TTI and bought another u it once they were available
The reason for the male end, is because there are a lot of tanks that don't have the newer valves. I still have a 100 pounder that won't take the female ends. And that is the main tank I have for my garage. But it would be nice if it did have the female one, because I do like that more.
Tool Review Zone Yeah I have two hoses. One for my shop. And one for when I go to the range, tree stand, or when I go mobile and just take a 20 lbs tank. But this is my favorite heater. The battery use and ridgid were why I got it. And been happy ever since.
I am considering that heater but how much moisture are you generating with that? I have a wood stove but my insurance agent is balking and I would have to drop the insurance on my pole barn to keep it. I just don't want it to rain in my shop.
Your right. Any gas burning makes it wet an draws cold air in through any gaps plus the fumes give you a bad head. My workshop is heated by oil/electric heaters. Leave um on all time with a good insulation it's a constant 20 deg c an if it's really cold ceramic heater of 3kw. Gas used to cos me a fucking bomb an made everything piss wet. It's 86 quid in the UK for 48kg bottle. Electric is 14p kwh so wins hands down bout 40-50quid a year.
Valve is incorrect for the fitting! QCC bottle valve with male POL, aeg supplied. Not 100% safe as o'ring seating on another o'ring. Both good gas fittings just need to be used separately, Thanks for good review!
Garrett Beezy none at all. I run this thing for hours at a time with the same 5.0, and works perfectly and no over heating. Just bought my father in law one for Christmas because I like it so much
When I first moved out here in a rural area, 16 years ago, propane was about 78 cents/gal. today, around here, it is $2.05/Gal. Back then, propane was a good, cost effective way to heat, but today, it's not much difference, and in some cases, even more expensive than electricity. Crap...the energy companies are gonna get 'ya, one way or another. so...pick your poison..!!
@@ToolReviewZone I realize that the individual situations will be different , but I wonder what the monthly cost would be for propane versus hooking up a 220v forced fan heater. I have 20ft x 20ft shop where I do my wood crafts. The ceiling and 2 of the walls ( need to get the other walls insulated ) is insulated with 3/4 styrofoam insulating boards from Home Depot. For the past several years I have been using a 220v.forced fan heater and it does a great job until the outside temp starts getting below about 35 F. Now I do not work there every day/all day long..I'm retired and my crafts is my hobby. Some days I will put in 8-10 hrs. and other days I might put in just a few hrs. That's the fun of retirement...I work when I want to and take breaks when I want to...Yay..!! So I do not know how much electricity I'm using with my 220v. heater ( along with my other tools & overhead fluorescent lights ).It would be hard to figure out. But I have been thinking about running another propane line from my 250 gal. tank and getting either a blue flame or probably infrared heater. But I have no idea if it would even be worth it, with the cost of propane....plus I would have to buy a heater. I was wanting to get a wood burning stove but a good used wood burner around here, even though it's rural, is like finding hen's teeth..LOL..!! And a new wood burner stove costs a few hundred bucks..plus the necessary piping....and right now it's out of my immediate budget. Oh my....what to do...!! But I enjoy watching these videos and seeing what others are doing and what they think of it all. So...thank you for showing us this video..and...Good luck..!!
@@ToolReviewZone Why not? All the other propane stoves I looked at give off fumes and give me a headache, but you said this one doesn't, so it's the perfect one for me too leave going in my bedroom all night. I'm old and live in really cold country.
Hey Quazie . These types of heaters take oxygen out of the atmosphere and replace it with carbon monoxide. It would basically be like running a car in your bedroom while sleeping. You could suffocate while sleeping buddy. Please don't do that. FYI.... I was a Safety and Health Supervisor for over ten years and have a BS degree in it. I'm not just blowing smoke here bro, please don't do that

I have to say this is one of your most comprehensive and therefore best videos imo Clint. You gotta get back on the grind homie
I paid130 dollars for it it is awesome and brushless now and uses batteries which I have a lot of that’s awesome
Hey Daniel, thanks for the comment. Was using it this weekend and loved it.
How long the battery will last (4.0)
And how long will the gas last with this one?
This is nice for when the power is out for a few hours...in the dead of winter....when an ice storm takes the lines down lol
+SKMC69 haha sort of like today after our over night Midwest storm we just git. Was out side blowing snow and had this bad boy with me the hole time

You can find a different 10ft hose with regulator pretty much anywhere if your not happy with the one rigid provides.

How fast does it go through propane? How long do you think it lasts on a 2ah battery? Looks like a nice unit for the price!
129$ is not a bad price at all. I can make a lot of the guys jealous on the job site this winter! HA-HA
Lol right. I heard a lot of people saying they were out of stock, but I would think they should have them flowing in soon
Good review man, thx
Thanks Landon, and any time!
So what if you want to use the battery? Where could I get the exact battery and how much will it cost? I need this for the inside of a car.
Are you being funny? You can't use that in a car bro, you would probably die
Be happy its a male fitting!!! That enables you to hook this bad boy to a 100lb propane tank!! and its perfectly safe if you use it properly!
Can THIS be used in a home basement!?(about 1800 square feet!!
No I would not do that
That looks awesome, wish they were available here in Australia
I hope you get the internet there soon.

+salmonslayer49 I have not noticed any at all. Natural gas and oil gives off way more than propane. You will have no issue with this
Thanks, I appreciate it. Its gotten cold here in the Ozarks and I dont like cold weather at all! Merry Christmas.

Should we used sealant tape on that value connection
Rost marshmallow s?
It probably comes with a male fitting so it can be used with 100lbs tanks.

Hi Steve. It's a 3 year warranty
🤓 Neat!

Lol, thats what I thought to.

hi Anna, not at all. That is why I decided not to go with kerosene. Propane burns clean
