    Thanks for the review of these new wireless switches. I had already bought half a dozen. You do NEED that new version Zigbee hub from Sonoff. Won't work with anything else. But your review is spot on. Excellent information.
    These switches are a gem, that few people know about. Very very handy.
    Though twice the side of my Flic 2 buttons, these Sonoff wireless are very good. Surprising considering the first version were terrible. I use these through Alexa so I can do things other than turn on/off Sonoff devices.
    I was disappointed with the only white color, so I spray painted them. Word of caution, cover the button, so extra paint does not seep into the crack between button and case. AND cover over the LED light with tape before you paint. Then you can peel the tape off to see the light flash. Learn from my mistakes, eh? I use command strips to attach them to underside of furniture or to hide them, versus the metal plate.

    Thank you for the video. New battery in the sensors looks very interesting and new ZigBee chip is a nice change too.

      I wonder how longe temperature sensor would last. 4 years is already in the scope of "change the battery and forget"... and it feels like a move in a good direction

    Hello. Can you please explain how to calibrat the old temperature sensor. I have also problem with different values with humidity. Tnx

  • @lp4854
    @lp4854 Год назад

    Are they compatible directly with the zigbee hub inside echo 4, for activation of alexa routines, without a sonoff zigbee hub?

  • @MAMDAVEM
    @MAMDAVEM Год назад

    The battery size is probably a good enough reason to buy them. My current favorite sensor is the Aqara but the CR2032 batteries just don't last long enough and I grow an embarrasing collection of spent batteries each year.

    Is there any how to guide to recalibrate the humidity sensor? I’m using the old version and it seems it is stuck on 100%. I have another sensor that shows a different value.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +2

      There are 2 ways to fix this.
      There is a chemical way of restoring sensors sensitivity (Google this it will outline the process) and simply adjusting value in z2m dashboard if you know current reference. As your sensor is stuck on 100% I'd open it up and check for water ingress then perform chemical calibration of the humidity sensor.

    Love the old button as you can smash it anywhere and it registers a click. Great in low light conditions. Looks like the new one has to be deliberately clicked in the middle?

    • @notenoughtech

      It has a nice indent so your fingers are guided into the centre of the button. I found it easy to use even when not looking at it directly

    I don’t suppose you have any rechargeable batteries in that size? That is my current problem with the Sonoff zigbee motion sensors. They really don’t seem to like rechargeable batteries. Touch, door and button seem fine. I’m guessing the voltage regulator on that sensor is dodgy.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +1

      Rechargeable battery usually have a little lower voltage than the regular one especially when a little depleted. As the sensor works from 3v you could wire up 2x AA or AAA if the battery performance is the key

    Are these sensors going to possibly get a Matter update in the future, or will they remain as Zigbee?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад

      Id have to read the spec sheet of the EFR chip... but considering that they can expose sensors via matter compatible hub like switchbot does... I doubt this would be a case

    Any thoughts what is restricting temperature range for sensor? Would be great to use those also outdoors with some wide range batteries

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +1

      Condensation would eat the board without proper protection. Worth getting a proper outdoor one which is ZigBee 3.0 compatible or what's even easier ... finding out where is your nearest meteo station and pulling data from professional grade equipment via api

    • @mattiwenell4988
      @mattiwenell4988 Год назад

      @@notenoughtech okay, thanks! Api is of course valid solution, but would like to have more local values 😄 maybe I have to jump Ruuvi Tag -team when it comes to outdoor sensors

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  Год назад +1

      I use switchbot outdoor meter + switchbot API for this... but I also use just the weather API. My station is less than 0.3 miles away. It's unlikely it won't notice tornadoes 😂

    The old square sensor is a sh..t, it often disconnects from the sonoff zgibee hub and you have to pair it once again. Is the new one better in this matter?
