she is not demeaning women, she is lifting us up. She is saying that WE ARE SO SPECIAL! Our bodies are not bad at all! As Catholics, we believe that we are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we should dress that way. There are plenty of fashion choices that are cute and trendy, but still modest, meaning not giving a free show. We should dress for who we are and/or who we want to attract. If we want to be a boss, dress like one and men will respect you. If you want to dress like a sexy Santa, don't be surprised if a random guy hits on you or catcalls you. I'm not saying that you would deserve it, because nobody does, I'm just saying that we need to dress for the kind of attention that we want.
So true. We dress for who we want to attract. Modesty is so important so that when a guy is attracted to you, immediately you will know he’s not just after your body. How we dress is how our children will dress in the future. If you really want to show, there’s always the bedroom moments with your spouse where you both can see each other’s body freely.

Immodesty is about drawing undue attention to yourself, whether the issue is revealing clothing or bragging. It seeks to be the center of attention. Your can be all covered up and still behaving in attention-seeking ways.

Don’t listen to other people and on how they want you to be/dress. Dress how you want to and live how you want, not how others tell you to because the only person that has to spend 100% of your life with you is you.

mixed thoughts on this....... 1) let's be honest, when was the last time you walked into Mass [a "typical" Mass - NOT a "conference Mass"] and thought, WOW, look at all those young Catholic women [or men], ie, late teens and 20's.....not the one or two you see, here and there......2) but in number, young Catholic Women.......bench-marking themselves and the men they encounter, by faith first? 3) theories [like talk] are cheap......this message is mist on the wind to the world around us! [SADLY]
Just saying, some women don't see it this way-They have an understanding of their personhood and their inherent dignity and they enjoy the fashion of today's world. Why? Because there's nothing wrong or squicky about the human body that needs to be considered shameful. Some women feel empowered by dressing more modestly, and others feel empowered by dressing alternatively. It's steeped in interpretation and where you are coming from as a person.
That's true... But when people know God truly, when women know Christ and understand that he calls us to holiness and to live virtuous and beautiful lives in love and honor of Him our Lord, they also understand that modesty is the best way of honoring the sacredness and value of our bodies, for both men and women. I'm not saying this in a rude way btw. Just coming from a peaceful and honestly grateful Christian perspective.
+Lucia DeLoach I respect your opinion. However is it Christ who asks you to dress modestly? Or the people who represent him? I believe much opinion that is called religion is the creation of mankind, rather then divinity. Though I do see much divinity in the world- a good portion would be marred by propriety of others and their lives.
+TheWonderLiz If you are truly interested in the topic, Pope St. John Paul II wrote extensively on the beauty of the human body and sex. If you're up for an intellectual challenge, his works Theology of the Body and Love and Responsibility are fantastic. If you prefer something a little easier to wrap your mind around (which I often do!), the books, Theology of the Body for Beginners and Men, Women, and the Mystery of Love, are essentially summaries in laymen's terms of the aforementioned works.
+TheWonderLiz Christ tells us that when a man looks at a women with lust, he has already committed adultery with her in his heart. As a woman, why not help men live purely by the way we dress?
We can only improve ourselves C Bentler It is up to others to make themselves better. Please see this- When we blame other people for our own faults then we lack the grace to acknowledge that we can be better. If Child A sees Child B's toy and he covets it in his heart, we do not tell Child B to put away his toy. We tell Child A that in life, we have to understand that not all things are ours to have and control.
Does the priest have to be dead for the crush to be holy? Cause we have a new beautiful, magnetic personality type priest that I absolutely adore. Hes rooted in Traditional teachings and has inspired many in the parish already in many ways. Is that ok or is it inappropriate?
(Nerd alert! Sense of humor advised.) "Modesty is about showing the dignity of the person and not just parts." That explains why her bikini shot from her modelling show is so much hotter than most I've seen out there (You can find it in Google images). Like they say, the closer to truth, the more beautiful the soul 😇😂. Thank you Leah!
Hope our Lord blesses you to find real Christian faith, which is the 2000 years old Orthodox One and Apostolic Christian Church. We're supposed to praise Jesus and Not the pope. It's sad how many great American people don't know Church history and are deceived. I was one deceived myself. Narrow is the way.. God bless you! You're a beautiful woman!
Full Life Art as catholics we dont praise the pope...we just respect him as a human and pray for him not to him. God appointed him to lead us in faith with Christ 😉 peace of Christ be with you brother
"I am not my Ssssssin"..what do i hear but the ssssmooth sound of the "deceitfulness of ssssin"? So she is liberated from the guilt of her sins and therefore not "defined" by them because of the "dignity" given us by God through her own conceived ideas..Hebrews 3:12-13 KJVS Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. [13] But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. John 3:3-7 KJVS Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. [4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? [5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Romans 8:1-4 KJVS There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: [4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 7:5-6 KJVS For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. [6] But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
The Blessed Mother said all we truly possess is sin and everything else belongs to God. But I think what she is trying to say in akward way by saying I am not sin... is that her identity is a child of God the Father. So who we are is a child of God and not any other label. Allll this labels are transitory. The only one that is and is to remain is a child of God.... and then the litany of the other ones having to do with that. Child of Jesus pray for us Child of the Holy Spirit pray for us :)
It is NOT appropriate to say You have a crush on priest. This speaker LOOK is not that totally modest: this reddish lipstick and ostentatious big earrings are NOT necessary nor modest. Also as a Catholic it is very important to wear Holly Cross or medalion of Mary or Your favorite saint on your neck.
What do you expect from the Novus Ordo sect? Certainly not modesty! "A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man [pants], nor shall a man put on a woman's garment; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God." (Deut 22:5). St. Clement of Alexandria, Father of the Church, On Public Modesty: “But by no manner of means are women to be allotted to uncover and exhibit *any* part of their person, lest both fall -- the men by being excited to look, the women by drawing on themselves the eyes of the men. But always must we conduct ourselves as in the Lord’s presence… [Again] On no account must a woman be permitted to show a man *any* portion of her body naked, for fear lest both fall: the one by gazing eagerly, the other by delighting to attract those eager glances.” (The Paedagogus or The Instructor, Book II, Chapter II)
@@WebCitizen I seem to recall Priests wear dresses... ANd men in the middle east in Jesus's time wore tunics too. Which is a kind of dress. So. what now?
@@KatRunion Actually, I should have indicated that your response is not a proper refutation but a deflection. The teaching of God and his saints condemns you. You certainly wear clothing that unduly reveals your flesh and St. Clement condemns you, you should repent and not quibble against the Church's teaching.
lol. That's subjective. Your opinion. The color pink/fuschia exist in nature: on sunsets, in flowers, birds, etc. the Creator made a colorful, beautiful world. Don't be jusgemental. Her lipstick is pretty.
Sorry, but I find those earrings are attracting undue attention and are immodest in my opinion. Just because they are big and flashy and detract from what you are saying. "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array." 1 Timothy 2:9. Modesty isn't just about dress it's also about behavior and mannerisms.
No need to say unkind things. That's her own personal style and you shouldn't be so easily distracted and lose focus of the beautiful words and message she's sharing. God bless you!
Were they even fashionable in 2016? I had a similar set in the 1990s but had to quit wearing them because they triggered my boyfriend's seizure disorder.
Modesty is her message? And yet she has giant ear rings, lipstick, etc. And she seems more than happy to jump around, fling her hair, bat her eyelashes and draw attention to herself. Not sure how she squares that circle. Big fan of Ascension Presents ... but not so much of Ms. Darrow. She's a little too full of herself. Dial it back (from seventeen - on a scale of 0-10) to about a six and maybe she would be digestible.
How did you manage to be a Catholic speaker and yet literally contradict what a pope and the Church has laid down. Where is our Church going? Please read a little bit about Pope Pius XI regarding dressing and if possible make some corrections. This sexual revolution nonsense must not be entertain and for God sake do not be disobedient to the Church fathers, you wanna listen to St chrystosom at some point. Ascension presents, please sort yourself out, you are a catholic outfit and not some kind of secular media outfit
Why can't we talk about both? And think about this ... If you go to an art show, would the artist mind that you're admiring and talking about his work? Quite the contrary, he would be flattered. Why would God mind us talking about his works of art?
You would rather makes a comment towards "people" on the internet. And yet that's fine. We can have friends and seek social interaction with people who aren't Jesus, yet that doesn't mean we love Him any less :)
Our sexuality is the greatest power we possess as humans. Using that power wisely, with modesty and chastity, isn't sexism. It seems sexist to me to tell another person that they are sexist for telling the truth about human sexuality...especially when it takes so much courage to come forward and publicly witness to the truth with examples from your own life...

mixed thoughts on this.......
[SADLY]
purity of love crusade ministry yes amen
I'm an evangelical Protestant. Do Catholics have a view on head coverings for women?
Traditional Catholics still do for the Holy Sacrifice of the mass. Vatican 2 was heretical
Yes, veils for women is in our traditions.
@@npn7564 Please return to the church. Your despair is from Satan.
@@npn7564 I did not understand your post. Remember, I am not from a Catholic tradition.
@@aceraphael Veils = head coverings? See 1Corinthians 11:5-7.
Wow!!
Someone: I'm not loved
All his spirit guides: are you sure about that?
Please see this-
When we blame other people for our own faults then we lack the grace to acknowledge that we can be better.
If Child A sees Child B's toy and he covets it in his heart, we do not tell Child B to put away his toy. We tell Child A that in life, we have to understand that not all things are ours to have and control.
great
Fulton Sheen is my holy crush too!
Does the priest have to be dead for the crush to be holy? Cause we have a new beautiful, magnetic personality type priest that I absolutely adore. Hes rooted in Traditional teachings and has inspired many in the parish already in many ways. Is that ok or is it inappropriate?
Honestly I don't know if crushes can ever be described as "holy"
I think feminity and modest dress makes a woman more attractive.
I have a holy crush on Sheen too Leah 😁😂
❤
🙏🏻👍🏻🥰
Loves her own past and wears jeans. Ok.
Ohhh... Pray for me i got wife one day just like you Leah.....
(Nerd alert! Sense of humor advised.)
"Modesty is about showing the dignity of the person and not just parts." That explains why her bikini shot from her modelling show is so much hotter than most I've seen out there (You can find it in Google images).
God appointed him to lead us in faith with Christ 😉 peace of Christ be with you brother
yes but overall ur way on how u look does not reflect modesty at all! besides the inside modesty we must wear. It must go together!!!
Modesty deals with externals, not just dress. Too much makeup flies in the face of modesty.
too much make up and flirty acts is also immodest....!
HYU NA what did she do .
"I am not my Ssssssin"..what do i hear but the ssssmooth sound of the "deceitfulness of ssssin"? So she is liberated from the guilt of her sins and therefore not "defined" by them because of the "dignity" given us by God through her own conceived ideas..Hebrews 3:12-13 KJVS
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. [13] But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
John 3:3-7 KJVS
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Romans 8:1-4 KJVS
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Romans 7:5-6 KJVS
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
Do shut up
What do you expect from the Novus Ordo sect?
I wish the person giving this class be a bit more modest in the color of her lips I've always felt that excess make up is also lack of modesty
lol. That's subjective. Your opinion. The color pink/fuschia exist in nature: on sunsets, in flowers, birds, etc. the Creator made a colorful, beautiful world. Don't be jusgemental. Her lipstick is pretty.
Nothing wrong with lipstick
Judge not! Lest you be judged.
Kevin Murphy you're ridiculous!
Not the first time I've heard that. But thank you! Dominus vobiscum.
But has she got a revealing dress? No
Wow talk about judging.
Talks about modesty, yet cakes her face in make-up.
We shouldn't judge based only on appearance. Modesty is about intention, and I think from this video we can see her heart is in the right place.
Will Scarlett what so wrong about make up???
@Will Scarlett wow really!!
Dude take a chill pill. Nothing wrong with makeup.
The true art in applying make-up is to enhance the appearance yet looking like no cosmetics were used. Subtlety.
it's sexist toward women
It's not as talked about, but the same goes for men. Men should be more than their groin or biceps.
Ascension presents, please sort yourself out, you are a catholic outfit and not some kind of secular media outfit
too much makeup - sorry x
Candy Clews no it is not
You would rather talk with a "saint" for all eternity then Jesus Christ....... Catholics
I'm a Christian and don't agree
why?
Its very sexist
Define sexist...
+Diana Doorley want me to make a argument , haha . This video in its self alone is one , it's demeaning to women , it tells them their bodies are something bad and that they need to cover up so boys don't act like pigs and lust after them
awesome lady
I think feminity and modest dress makes a woman more attractive.
