I work at a Christan children's home and cry every time I see the trailer. Yes, the kids can appear and act rough but they have gone through such horrible things that no child should have to experience.

My mother worked for a children’s network helping foster children find new homes for 5+ years. It is not an easy line of work, it took a toll on my mother and her mental health having to see what was going on with the kids that she was helping re home. I’ve asked her what the job was really like, she said she doesn’t regret it for a second, but it wasn’t an easy job. She was glad to be a light and help children in need but she had to read some horrific stories about the homes these kids were being taken away from. After she had left the company and started a different career path she said she was glad that God was able to use her for that amount of time to help those in need.

My husband used to be an IT guy. One of his contracted was working on the software used by Children's Aid. At one point, he had to test the software using real data. He was, of course, required to sign a privacy statement declaring that he would never share what he saw.
Some of the programmers could detach themselves and just focus on how the software was working. My husband couldn't do it. For the first time in his career, he requested his employer to put him on a different contract, because he simply could not bare to see the test data, knowing that these were real cases for real children he was looking at.

Wonderful review! Will definitely see the movie. To add to your encouragement for people to consider adoption, I would add an encouragement to consider fostering and/or respite care even for kids where adoption is not an option. Most kids in the system are not there due to abuse and can and should return to their parents in time. Many should not have even been removed in the first place. But regardless of how they got there and how long they’ll stay, they need safe and loving homes just as the adoptable children do. It is hard to love a child as your own knowing you’ll have to say goodbye… but if it is what is needed, then it is a responsibility and a privilege for Christians to meet that need.
Becoming a respite care provider is also a good option for those unable to make a long-term commitment. Foster parents are often limited in the babysitting/temporary care options for their kids so this is SOOO needed.

I love how this pairs so well with the message of Sound of Freedom: Kids who are in the foster care system are at much higher risk for things like trafficking and abuse, even if no one in the system itself harms them. Adoption and non-profits and orgs which reach out to offer care and support to kids and also to young adults as they age out of the system, can make all the difference.

I am delighted with the work you do to shed light on Christian concerns.
    Accents???
LOL You Americans are something else!
Many of you truly believe that you don't have accents.
You absolutely have an OBVIOUS accent, but coming from an inconsequential corner of the world I have become accustomed to hearing most movies and entertainment in some American accent.
It's very rare that I hear actors talking "normal".
For me the most "neutral" accent for spoken English would be received English, and preferably centered around Oxford, as spoken by that great Irishman, CS Lewis.
And I am a Sow Theh Freakan!
    Keep up the good work.
I look forward to seeing this movie too.

I agree, child abuse, in any form, is wicked. May I add, every abortion is also a heinous and wicked act, too. Have you ever heard of the movie Unplanned? It's the true story of Abby Johnson, the youngest Planned Parenthood director in their history. It tells how she transitioned from pro-abortion to pro-life. She realized it's the ultimate child abuse, as well as abuse of women.
When the movie was released in theaters in January 2019, I saw it twice, and both times I sobbed my guts out, it's so heartbreaking. I even bought the video. I recently watched it again and could not stop weeping.
All abuse is nonstop evil. The abusers need to repent. Jesus said such evil people would be better off having a millstone around their neck and get tossed into the sea for harming these little ones. He's right. 😢

This movie really glosses over what it's like to adopt traumatized children. My son was only 6 months old when I adopted him and he had reactive attachment disorder. This means he did not attach to anymore, cried 24/7 for the first two years I had him, and I had to get him to attach before the age of 3 since most who don't end up growing up to be psychopathic with no feelings for anyone or any thing. His disorder was from neglect and it has taken years to help him overcome it. It was hard, broke me, brought intense struggle into my family, and is not for the faint of heart. Belonging to groups of adoptive parents of children who have faced some trauma, even mild, I know first hand the nightmare that can ensue. The serious mental and emotional issues that such children bring to their new families can destroy those families. These children of course deserve love and families, but don't go into it blindly. Know that your life may be turned upside down and you will never be the same as you were pre-adoption. God bless the families who survive it and the children blessed enough to be adopted into a supportive family willing to fight for their healing.

Life sentencing when a life hasn't been taken has proven time and time again to come with a very negative consequence. That consequence is that there are less survivors. Would be murderers sometimes become murderers when the sentencing will be the same either way. No victim to talk or testify can be the difference between guilty and not guilty. It's not something that even heinous criminals always want to do. When it helps their chances of not being caught and the sentence will be the same either way...
Not all sociopaths like to get messy... sorry to put it tat way but that's exactly how they've put it.
Maybe with this particular crime it will be different. Let's hope.
