I honestly don’t think Gethen is Sophie’s biological father. While he’s a talented telepath, it doesn’t make sense how he’s apart of the Neverseen when he benefitted the Black Swan. He also could’ve used that information for being her father to black mail the Black Swan and to get an advantage.
One theory I have is that Lady Gisela based Keefe’s powers from Elysian. Keefe has the power to command people using his voice, and in a way, Elysian has that power. She could’ve spend hundreds of years mastering her power, which would explain how all the commotion stopped at the end of Stellarlune and how determined Lady Gisela is to find Elysian. I’m also thinking Elysian plays a role in the third part of Keefe’s legacy.

I think Elysian is one of Vespera's experiments
That would explain how she is connected to nightfall
Like (what was it.....2000 years ago that Vespera got locked in lumenaria?) And (correct me if I'm wrong) in stellarlune it said that the star only appears once every 2000 years
So the timeline would match up
What if Vespera was experimenting on Elysian to find out why elves have abilities and humans don't and managed to spark abilities in Elysian and it went horribly wrong
    That's right.....what if Elysian IS A HUMAN
And how Vespera did it was harnessing the power from that one unmapped star and managed to give Elysian a super powerful ability
Also this ties into my other theory about Elysian
That she was the original owner of Brumvale
Because Forkle said that no one new the original owner but did say it was VERY old
What if Vespera kidnapped Elysian from Brumvale and then did experiments on her in the Nightfall facility
And the experiments she did on Elysian were named Stellarlune and that's the name of the unwrapped star
And this is were it ties into Keefe
What if Lady Giselle's thought is: "if stellarlune is that powerful on a human what about an elf"
The reason Keefe needs the last step is because if not he'll become unstable (which he already is) or he might die
    And
I think Elysian is or has something to do with the origin of Brumvale
    Think about it:
Mr forkle said know one knows about the couple that originally owned the light house
And what if the couple didn't die (at least the wife) and if the husband died and all of the other chaos with the humans and elves started and the wife (Elysian) ran off and all other elves stemmed from that couple
And the light house was a peaceful tranquil place that everyone gathered
But when the drama with the humans started things weren't peaceful anymore and the couple (who might be Elysian and another) left so they won't be in drama
Maybe not the couple being Elysian and another exactly but I have a STRONG gut feeling it has to do with Brumvale and why Lady Giselle targeted to destroy it for some reason

I think Elysian used to be a human, but then she discovered Stellarlune, which turned her into the first elf, or one of the first elves.
I think all of the first elves were as powerful as her, but the powers were too much and many became evil. There could have been some kind of battle, and Elysian was the only one left with the full Stellarlune powers, but the first elves had already had children. They passed on a fraction of their powers to all their descendants, along with immortality. Stellarlune was hidden because it was too dangerous, but the secret Nightfall experiments on humans were an attempt to rediscover the great powers which had originally turned humans into elves.

The word Elysian means “paradise or heaven” which makes me wonder, is Elysian a place? We all know that Shannon loves to use names that match with the characters. For example, Fitz meaning son of a great powered person. One thing that sticks out to me is that when Sophie is fading, she felt at peace with the light welcoming her, which kinda matches with “paradise”. Maybe Elysian is connected to someone who has faded, someone who was able to see something and pull themselves back. Maybe even connected to Cyrah? (Long shot)
Another theory is that Elysian may be human. When Sophie is first brought to the Lost Cities, it was described beautifully by her. It was just like paradise. So maybe Elysian thought the same about the Lost Cities when she came. Elysian is also most likely on neither side, because she was present in front of both groups, even shutting down Gisela’s conjuring. Maybe Elysian wanted to make the Lost Cities a “paradise” again. Or maybe she is still part faded, making her a “power source” that everybody needed. The words “power source” sounds both good and bad, depending on the circumstances. My guess is that Elysian is good because of her name meaning, once again, “paradise” And if the “fading” theory is correct, Elysian might have faded using the light from unmapped stars . . .
      That’s all I have, thanks! ❤❤❤

Yay, another video! I had the sort of same idea as the last theory. That Elysian is like the first moonlark. But what if she is a part of another rebel group or started one herself? I think that she is not part of the Neverseen based on Gisela's reaction to her. Maybe she was created to guard Elysian the place? I don't know, but I think any of these ideas would be crazy!
As for Ro, I assume she was captured by the person she was trying to kill. Maybe a part of the same group I theorized Elysian was a part of? That would be neat. They are probably going to use Ro as an advantage to get the Keeper Group to do something.
This was another great video, and I loved it!

I think the leak in the Black Swan is Tinker as she lives in isolation which is already making me suspicious of her and she has been with the Black Swan for ages that she probably knows the location of Brumevale, which she could then share with the Neverseen. We also have had some hints that the Neverseen have a secret Technopath and Tinker is kinda like Dex’s mentor or something I guess, but this also allows her to get more information on Dex’s inventions; unfortunately the ability restrictor 😭. And I honestly don’t think Shannon would suspense us with a secret Technopath and make it someone we haven’t been introduced to.

I’m also pretty sure Fallon Vacker or one of the Vacker ancients could be connected in a way to Elysian as there was something called the ‘Vacker Legacy’ which could involve Elysian and they say the Ancient’s minds are rusty and very dense so the ancient Vackers could honestly forget about the Vacker Legacy at some points so yeah. Alden is probably in on this if this legacy has bad intentions lol 😂
… but guys… there is no reason to worry about this 😉

Yeah like the Elysian Fields in Greek mythology. Sophie could have some human knowledge about it and it might relate to the third step of Stellarlune - maybe it’s an advantage the black swan will have, like in Legacy when Lady Gisela didn’t account for Keefe not being able to light leap, so Sophie teleported him. The number 12 (the amount of days the stars are aligned during nightfall to reveal the 6th unmapped star) also has significance in Greek mythology as there are 12 olympians. I’m not sure where I’m going with this theory but…..maybe it relates and the connection to a key?
I also think it might be symbolism or a hint or something that the Archetype is called the Archetype. It hasn’t been of significance for a couple of books and it was burned, but what was inside was never actually revealed and might relate to sopordine. Although all the sopordine the Neverseen had may have been destroyed in the storehouse fire, what if it wasn’t, and the neverseen are planning to do something big with it? Going back to the word Archetype, it means character types like protagonist, antagonist, mentor, etc. What if instead of character types, it contained types of something else (abilities/combinations of abilities, elements (quintessence, shadow flux), sopordine, or combinations of all three).
I agree that Elysian is was one of the first humans and that’s how elves came into existence, but could that mean that instead of making Keefe a more extraordinary elf, it would make him a human (again, sort of if all elves originated from Elysian if the Brumevale theory is true, which I think it is because Shannon does everything for a reason.)

My biggest theory is that the elves and the humans are actually the same species. They used to be united as one species or the other, united with the other intelligent species, until either genetic mutation caused the first humans to have shorter lifespans, no special skills/abilities, and a higher reproduction rate, or Elysian somehow gave skills/abilities and much longer life spans to the first elves. Either way, the earliest elves set themselves apart from and even oppressed the earliest humans. Both groups were originally peaceful, but the humans adapted to violence after being non-violently mistreated by the elves. Vespera's experiments were to understand the difference between the two species, either to prevent a future mutation, to recreate whatever Elysian did and turn humans into elves, or to help the elves attain the humans’ level of violence (which is what everyone assumes so far).
Another theory I have is that Blur is Sophie's biological father. We basically know nothing about him, except that he's a phaser and he has full lips and round cheeks, and Sophie thinks he looks familiar, but can't place how. The lips and cheeks thing really isn't that descriptive, but I feel like the fact that Sophie almost recognized him was a huge hint. She probably doesn't spend a ton of time studying her own face, but she definitely has looked in the mirror before, and she wouldn't think to look for herself in someone else's face, so it would make sense if Blur actually resembled Sophie herself, which wouldn't be worth mentioning unless they were related.
(Spoilers ahead if you're planning on reading the Sky Fall series.) Also, Shannon seems to use a lot of the same tropes/themes between KOTLC and her YA trilogy (mc was raised with humans but is actually a supposedly mythical creature whose fate is to save the world, mc’s love interest has an evil mother, the supposedly mythical creatures are allergic to violence, etc.), so it seems safe to make theories loosely based off of Sky Fall. Two major events from Let the Wind Rise that come to mind are Gus’s death and Audra’s mom’s mini redemption arc. I'm pretty sure Gus was Vane's bodyguard at some point, but he was also just a happy and friendly person, loyal and supportive to the main characters, not super helpful to the plot but still involved in a decent portion of the book, sort of unnecessarily wrapped up in all of the drama. He died for dramatic effect, I think. If this plot point is going to be paralleled in KOTLC (and I know a lot of us are already guessing someone will die), it'll probably be with the same type of character. Dex was the first to come to my mind, but that could be paranoia. It might be any of the Dizznees, but I doubt it since most of them aren't super involved. Elwin also seems like a pretty good guess, or maybe Lihn. It could also be Sandor, Ro, or Flori because of the bodyguard thing, but that seems less likely. I also mentioned Audra’s mom, and yes, I think Lady Gisela will do something to help Keefe and Sophie. She probably won't die, and they might even come to some partial understanding and forgiveness.
Finally, it seems really suspicious that Ro isn't back yet by the end of Stellarlune, but I also highly doubt she's dead. If Shannon wants to kill Ro off, she'll do it when the other characters are there to see it for the full effect, otherwise she's just throwing her away for no reason. I think Ro’s either being held hostage, or being mind controlled to fight with the Neverseen (which would obviously come with a ton of plot complications). This will probably be revealed during an epic showdown at some point.

there better be a big battle in the tenth book. because the neverseen have ogres (i think, i forgot) on their side so they could be part of it too. and then i think it was dwarves or gnomes or both on the black swan’s side so they could be part of it too. and this battle thingy could potentially lead to breaking or starting a war or something for the whole of the lost cities.
but other that fitz dying because he a moody teenager what about dex? like he’s forgotten and i think only needed when they need a gadget or something. sooo something could happen to him too. and i think something has to happen to Rex (the one who didn’t get a power i think).

I think the leak in the black swan is Alden and/or Della. At the start of the whole series they always wanted Sophie around which would help them know what was always happening with her and the black swan. The trolls were in their garden. They are also one of the most prominent families in the lost cities. Alvar could’ve recruited them. When gethen was locked away, I can’t remember where but they were using another telepath. What is Alden? A telepath. Della would’ve learnt a lot of stuff when she ran away them to the black swan. Throughout the whole series they’ve always been there and near Sophie and her friends. So I think Alden and Della are leaking the information to the neverseen

  • @vonjill3891

@kotlcfanbase! I have a theory that with the whole thing with Elysian, that if a battle goes down (which it most likely will) Keefe is going to almost die, because I think Shannon isn't going to kill him off when the final buildup is about to happen to him. And then there'll be this whole scene where they save him and it will be super dramatic without really being dramatic if you know what I mean. But I think that we'll finally see Lord Cassius and Keefe's relationship get better by when he almost dies Cassius will kinda realize how important Keefe actual is to him and that they'll have this whole father and son moment and maybe Cassius will finally tell Keefe that he's proud of him and maybe tell him that he loves him, because we all know how much Keefe deserves that after all the family drama he went through.

I think Alden and Della are the leaks. Maybe even Fitz and biana. Alden and Della always want Sophie around used fitz and biana to bring Sophie to their place. Biana and Fitz are really close with Sophie so they can share their plans with their parents and the never seen. Della also ran away with Sophie’s whole friend group to the black swan. This could’ve been to learn more about the black swans plan and the reason Alden stayed was to keep suspicion off of them. The backers are also one of the most prominent families in the lost cities which means no one would suspect them. Also when gethen was locked away, the neverseen still had a telepath working for them. Who is a telepath? Alden and Fitz. They are all very powerful as well which the neverseen will use to their advantage. The vackers also had the trolls in their backyard. They say they didn’t know about this, but it all could have been a setup for something bigger.
Sorry for the long theory btw

I have a KOTLC theory. In the last book, it is revealed that Keefe is sort of going numb, so what if in the next book, one, Keefe slowly starts to lose his feelings for Sophie and Sophie gets upset for one, that Keefe is going numb, two, she denied her feelings for him for so long and now they’re together and now he’s losing his feelings for her, and three, Keefe's not even motivated to fix himself. I feel like there’s going to be a big fight between them and stuff said like “I just got you back, I’m not ready to lose you now.” And/or “You said you cared about me, Keefe. If you really cared you’d fight for us and right now, all you seem to be doing is letting your mom win and losing us. You're losing me, Keefe.”

  • @user-vq2fw7qz6e

I am completely convinced that Shannon Messenger hid clues in Stellarlune about what Elysian is. So here is my theory (ish) that I’ve compiled, and all the questions that I found (I don’t have answers to many but they sure do make you think!!)
(Warning-this is a very long block of text!!)
Elysian is “The biggest secret in the Lost Cities”, read, a forgotten secret. Or maybe not so forgotten- I think Kenric knew about her.
It makes sense when you think about it. Vespera said she performed the illusions on the island of Elysian, right? That implies the council was involved. In one of the memories, Kenric said he had just learned that the council had been holding someone prisoner for thousands of years. Sophie thought that meant Vespera, but what if in fact it was Elysian? When Oralie read Kenric’s emotions while they were in Elysian, she said he felt disgusted, and felt “Genuine terror”. Well, why would he be disgusted/terrified if he just thought it was a place? He must know the forgotten secret, somehow.
If Kenric went through with making Prentice his personal keeper, then he could have hidden the secrets about Elysian in his mind. And it could have also played a part in why Prentice called Swan Song (we still don’t know why he did that).
Another theory is Fallon Vacker. Oralie had his name connected to Elysian on her mind map (dashed, but still), and I actually think that’s valid. And it sounds exactly like one of the little clues Shannon would plant for us.
One other idea is that Bronte could have memories of Elysian. Sophie hasn’t told the council about her findings with Elysian yet, so it’s totally possible. Anyways, I don’t think Bronte erased his knowledge of the Ogres having the drakostomes, so it’s possible that he could have done the same thing with Elysian. A bit out there, but it’s just another theory!
One other thing I am confused about is how the exploding rocks are related to an elf (Yeah, I’m assuming Elysian is an elf, we don’t have any evidence against it right now and therefore I’m going with the easiest option). It just doesn’t make sense!!!
And then, one thing I don’t think people are focused enough on is how Elysian appeared out of thin air in the last page of Stellarlune. Is she a vanisher? Could she, say, be related to Della? Or is it some other, new talent?
On the topic of talents, she turned off all of their powers. WHaaaaaaaaaaa?????
How is Elysian related to the prime sources? When she made everyone’s powers turn off, it honestly gave me vibes that remind me of when Keefe made everyone numb, or when he ‘stopped’ the triplets, or made Ro sleep. Somehow she’s related to stellarlune, but it didn’t seem like Lady Gisela knew about this strange Elysian person more than the rest of them did. So I think this is something that Lady Gisela definitely didn’t plan for. And therefore, what does this mean for Keefe????
How is Elysian related to the old Greek myths of the Elysian Fields? First off, Sophie must have mentioned them, oh, maybe 3 or 4 times in Stellarlune combined, AND Shannon usually plays off of human myths to make her places (Atlantis, Eternalia) so I think this isn’t something we should easily forget. Could she be someone with strange powers connected to death?. Could the island of Elysian be where the elves' spirits go after they die? A sort of afterlife? In Greek mythology, it’s the place where heroes live after they die, and I think Shannon must somehow be playing off of that.
Why couldn’t Sophie teleport into Elysian? It seems so weird that there would be protections against people teleporting into there when Sophie is the only one able to do that. Sophie can teleport into places where there are protections against light leaping, so the only other two options are: For some reason there were protections against alicorns, or it’s underground. Yaaaah, the second one sounds better, huh? Couldn’t Elysian be like the Sanctuary? It would make sense with the “Elysian being a prisoner” thing, because they would keep her contained that way, underground. And they didn’t light leap with crystals there, they leaped with the starstones, so maybe they can go underground?
Who is Lady Gisela’s technopath? Could the Black Swan’s technopath (Tinker) be the leak, and actually be helping Lady Gisela? It could be her, it makes more sense than all the other options. We also don’t know how Lady Gisela’s technopath is, I think.
Lastly, I think we should consider the possibility that Elysian is not an elf. We haven't gotten any evidence about what she looks like, just her gender (female) and that she wears a gray cloak. And the one description we have of her voice (“Dark, raw, and melodic”) doesn’t clear anything up either.
    Random other questions:
Is the prisoner Kenric talked about really Vespera, or could it be Elysian?
Why is the river in ‘Elysian’ so quiet?
Could the butterflies in Elysian be the spirits of dead elves?
The place has a ‘mood’ or ‘awareness’. . . Why? How?
Did Kenric know what Elysian really was? If not, why was he so disgusted about just the place? I think he must have known at least something!
How does Stellarlune have anything to do with what Lady Gisela did to herself? And Elysian is closely connected to Stellarlune.
Why was Kenric disgusted about Elysian?
Who are the black swan’s “proxies?”
    Who is Wraith?
Could he be related to Della, because she and Biana are the only vanishes we currently know about . . . ?
10: Who are the black swan’s “proxies?”
Who is Wraith? Could he be related to Della, because she and Biana are the only vanishes we currently know about . . . ?
Lady Gisela is a conjurer: Could Keefe’s new powers be related to that? Could he be one?
Is Vespera really dead? No one ever checked!
Lady Fayina - is she a clue?
Does Sophie become the ‘Keeper’ of the lost cities, in truth?
Why did Prentice call swan song?
Why haven’t they asked Bronte if they can look at his cache?
What would happen if Sophie enhanced Keefe?
How does Elysian, a person, have anything to do with Stellarlune and Keefe?
The trolls could play a part in book 10, maybe . . .
What is the riddle that Lady Gisela mentioned?
Did Prentice go through with being Kenric’s personal keeper?
Elysian is a forgotten secret- why?
    Elysian is an island?!?!?!?!?
Could the two human’s Lady Gisela killed actually not be dead?
Whose cache is the secrets about Elysian in? (It is mentioned that it is a forgotten secret) Is it one of the councilors we already know well, or another one?
Plot hole: Shannon Messenger would never leave something like that Imparter that Grady gave Keefe just standing there. There HAS to something with that!
One last note, and this is about Sophie’s father.
There’s a very popular theory about Gethen, and I’ll admit, there is sooooome logic there . . . But.
One of the reasons why people think that is because he’s blond. But, oralie’ s already blonde, so honestly that seems too obvious. And, it wasn’t that long ago that Sophie was born, and I think Gethen’s been working against the black swan longer than that, right?
There’s also things that do make sense, but it just seems like too big of a mistake on Black Swan’s part.
I don’t really have any opinions against Elwin, but it just doesn’t seem . . . Right.
So, my other two theories are this:
Wraith (I feel like no one considers that maaaaybe her father could simply be one of the black swan’s members.)
Quinlin (He was investigating the fires in the first book, and he almost became cognates with (actually I can’t remember, it’s either Tiregan or Alden). Anyway, it’s not a popularly raised theory, but, you know, anything is possible!
Welp, if you made it this far. . . Good job! I hope this made you think about this upcoming keeper book!

hello!! i love your videos and i do have a theory which i would love to share, but i honestly don't know how to fit it into an actual theory so this is more like an important clue which might have been missed in nightfall where fintan tells marella "and i get to meet the new recruit - a redek, no less. i'm assuming your mother doesn't know about this new hobby, given how much she sacrificed to keep you away." i keep wondering what did she sacrifice? was it the "accident"? maybe they tried to recruit caprise and she didn't want her daughter tied up with whatever plans would go down and maybe they shared their plans/visions with caprise and because she decided she didnt want any part in it, they thought of her as a liability and pushed her off the balcony or something, maybe even messed her up more before that because this problem with her moods and issues couldnt be fixed, having lasting effects on her life up till now. maybe the head trauma caused some form of memory loss because they couldnt risk the memories being triggered? not exactly sure if this is feasible

I think Elysian is a failed experiment from the Black Swan and the Neverseen working together. Oralie - in Legacy, I think - said that when she gave her DNA to project Moonlark, there was no clear line between the two rebel groups and that some people didn’t even think there WERE two groups. What if Elysian was their first super-child they made to try and help the Lost Cities but she went rogue or something so they had to lock her away and erase their memories of her because they knew she would be too dangerous to be let out into the world? I think she has the same abilities as Keefe. Which explains why Keefe would need her to finally gain control over his abilities. What if she becomes like, his mentor or something? The Black Swan - after they locked Elysian away - would have gone, “whoops that didn’t work, let’s try something else” but the Neverseen went “nah let’s try it again. Second time lucky, right?”
There would have been a huge argument about it and then they would have broken up and left to make their own super children. But before they erased their memories of Elysian, they gave Kenric the information to hide in his cache just in case Elysian somehow escaped. So they’d have a record SOMEWHERE. In Cassius’s memory, Gisela asked him if he knew what Elysian was. Maybe she was trying to find the person that the Black Swan left the information with.
If you see any holes in this theory, just comment them pls😅

I kinda think Elwin is Sophie’s bio dad cause she already considers him family and that, also didn’t team valiant come up with the theory of “the black swan would give you the same abilities as your parents.” ? Elwins a Flasher so it matches up-
I also think- Brant is related to Marella, I think that brant is her uncle. Caprise’s brother- Grady and Edaline have always been looking after brant for all those years cause his families minds would shatter from guilt if they saw him like that apparently and Caprise is mentally unstable so therefore I present my theories

I agree that Elysian is was one of the first humans and that’s how elves came into existence, but could that mean that instead of making Keefe a more extraordinary elf, it would make him a human (again, sort of?)
