    Best way to heat tent for night is to put 3-4 big rocks below fireplace on bowl, and let them be there under fire, atleast one hour, they keep warm radiating heat in tent overnight for over 8-10 hours and even more if burning coal is left, and it is safe to do cause you dont need open flame.

      Thanks for the tip. I've seen people set hot rocks under bed in "survival videos". Never tested such method but i have heated rocks for 5 hours for a sauna and it really works well. Just to keep in mind those rocks are super hot so a bucket or a bowl is a nice touch to prevent accidents. Cheers👌

    Hi, Thanks for sharing your video 👍
    I really was interested to see this Lavuu as i have just bought the same one and it will be delivered soon, what are your thoughts on the Lavuu and do you like it ?
    ATB... 👍👍

      I really like it. It has plenty of space and i like the fact that i can stand inside of it and stretch my back. There are other tents available that have two doors making possible that you have better view to your surroundings in the tent but if that isnt a key factor in your tenting i would say you have made an excelent choise.

    Hey! I have the 6-man nordmarka, and was wondering what your long term experience with open fire was? Not sure if I will be able to afford a stove this winter, so would be nice to know if you had any issues with the small campfire inside.

      Hey thank you for the question, i burned some moist wood inside of the tent in a small bucket and was able to smoke the tent really well. Had to put the fire out. So i suggest to use dry birch if you about to burn fire inside the tent. I believe there is a firebucket as an accessory to the tent as well. Here is one link for the product www.xxl.fi/helsport-lavvo-poltin-harmaa/p/1043261_1_style . Just remember to be caution when dealing with fire inside the tent. All the best and happy camping.

      Hi and thanks. To give you an honest reply i must say that last year we didn't have a proper winter here in southern Finland to truly test the tent in winter conditions -10C /-20C. Infact we didn't have winter at all. But i think you would be okay with it in winter conditions if you take in consideration few tips. Get your bed up from the ground (this helps a lot) good sleeping bag for the winter conditions and of course have the stove supplied with enough wood through all night. Air flow controller pipe is handy for the night so you won't burn through all your wood so fast. I hope this reply helps you and happy tenting👍

    Nice tent,great heater but in my opinion too big of a tent, lots of stuff to carry.

    • @JPOutdoor
      @JPOutdoor  4 года назад +1

      I agree. I wouldn't want to carry it but of course that would depend on the weight ratio between other hikers/campers. If it was just me and had to hike long distances this tent wouldn't be the one for the trip. But its a great "basecamp" tent if you have options to travel by vehicles.

      JP Outdoor I see, so you had a short hike? You vehicle was not to far? You seem to bend over quiet a lot and have like four roll up items in your back as you hiked.good thing you have a good back.

      @@sipapito Yes, for this video the road was really close by and because of it, i didn't see the need to pack my stuff properly. Infact i was carrying a lot of stuff with me and no my back is actually terrible and i always keep forgeting it but my back sure does remind me about it afterwards ;) . Should be more gentle to it.
