Another I need to cross off my list! Thanks for another great review, Josh!
My favourite vampire film is probably What We Do in The Shadows, but the Lost Boys is a lot of fun and I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle is certainly original!

Those are some great ones! I actually hadn’t heard of I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle before before you mentioned it so thanks for the recommendation!

@@JoshuaSutlive it's a silly straight to video film from the eighties, but it is genuinely entertaining!

    Hi Josh:
Great video about a very important film. I'm glad that you spoke about the importance of film preservation and restoration. Luckily, a lot of great work has been done to preserve many classic films. My favorite vampire film was actually a made for TV movie that was released in the 70s called Salem's Lot, starring David Soul and James Mason. Another, is a more modern film from Australia called 30 Days of Night. Love the channel and thanks for producing this video.

I've been meaning to see Salem's lot for a while now but have yet to watch it. I'll certainly have to check it out now! I'm glad you're enjoying the channel! More videos to come soon!

Thanks Josh very interesting as ever. I like Near Dark and was quite impressed with 30 Days of Night. I remember the Langella Dracula being my favourite version of that story but would love to see a proper modern version (Coppola’s wasn’t!)

"Vampyr" 1932, is a highly-rated film by Carl Theodor Dreyer. It is unique in its silent-to-talky crossover techniques that most film historians should find interesting. BTW, since Schrenk means "fright" or "terror", it had been thought that Max Schrenk was a pseudonym for the stage actor Alfred Abel, however, a careful examination of the photographs of these two actors is sufficient to dispel such notions.

I was wondering if anyone would mention Vampyr! I’ve been meaning to revisit that for a while now so I might try and work it into my Halloween selections for next year.
Interesting facts about Max Schrenk by the way!

Fave vampire flick? 👉 _The Hunger_ (1983) - Tony Scott's lush, operatic, & extravagantly cool debut film is, in many ways, the glamorous Horror equivalent of _Blade Runner._ With Catherine Deneuve, Susan Sarandon, & David Bowie at the zenith of his '80s popularity, the film is the _"Easy Rider"_ of the early '80s Goth scene.

I don't think I have a favourite vampire film - a few that I enjoy more than others in my collection are Nosfertatu, The Hunger, Near Dark, Salem's Lot, Central Park Drifter/Graveyard Shift, The Lost Boys. Now, there are two novels that I would love to see put on film - They Thirst by Robert R. McCammon (1981) and The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (2005). If you have not read these, do yourself a favour and do so, you won't regret it.

Those are some great choices! I’ll definitely have to check out those novels!
