Recoznizing angles while making centers is interesting feeling. The best step is ending setting up cube and then doing some mistake,returning to making edges and corners.
If you do the checkerboard. Then rotate every center 180 degrees moving inward (so outer layers like a 3x3. Then outer 2 layers. Then outer three. Just like you'd move inward for say a cube in a cube pattern) it does actually look rather like a checkerboard. You can do two centers at a time with this algorithm (R' F R U') six times

I believe Heptaphobic would be more accurate, using greek roots to match Hexaphobic. Otherwise they would be Sexaphobic and Septaphobic, using latin roots.
My 5 year old cousin somehow solved it and when I asked him how he just said "I matched the colors like you told me too" Take note I have no clue how to even solve one full side

lol when I do egde piece swapping on a shape shifting puzzle I always double check on my 5x5 to make sure I remember the alogrithm correctly
