It keeps notifying me that " the dwg file has extents greater than 1E9. Data exceeding that range will be truncated" what does that mean and if I go ahead, I only see a very small side of the drawing. I need assistance
Probable causes 1.The DWG drawing has been corrupted or contains corrupted elements. 2. The entire DWG or some elements are placed far away from the origin. The DWG contains elements with large extents. Examples: A block placed far away from the WCS origin, but having its "Base point" (its origin) in the WCS origin. An arc with a large radius. Solution 1. Copy all elements to a new CAD file. 2.Clean the CAD file. Link the newly created file into the Revit model.
1. Is your drawing scaled previously? If scaled, then this problem may appear. For this condition, use a custom scale in the unit setting. 2. If not scaled, then during import, select feet or inches in which unit you have drawn. Sometimes auto-detect in unit settings may not work properly
@archmotion2173 yaa thats right in autocad when i take measurements its show proper when i import cad file in revit i choose feet inches unit then it show 1000 feet
That means Revit is detecting the drawing as a scaled drawing. One option is during import. Select the unit settings in Castom and use scale 1/1000. Also, if possible, kindly share your drawing on Facebook. My Facebook profile is Link is available in bio.
