  • A Signal Tracing Demo using my Crosley 718 to understand the cause & effect of low/high impedance test point locations and how to use a capacitor & resistor to help mitigate the effects making the Signal Tracer more effective.
    - Reduce loading of the circuit
    - Reduce low frequency signals

Hello Don, As usual, another fine, detailed demo and explanations. I always learn something from watching your channel. I'm a little late, working some long hours lately. The signal tracer you made sure works great. We hit 100 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, 15th & 16th, back to mid, upper 70's. Always good when you post a video. Glad your doing well. All the best, C.

Mr. Don, sir! Thanks for another outstanding and informative video! I'm trying to use my signal tracer to track down a problem with a 6-S-52 that I recently picked up. I saw that you had experience with this one yourself, so I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. I got mine from a teenager who began trying to clean it up for his grandmother. He said it was in working condition when he removed the tuning capacitor to replace the rubber pads, but it's been dead ever since. I reattached the tuning cap per the schematic (and where I saw the evidence that the solder had been disturbed). This model has a dedicated shortwave coil that sits atop a detector AND pre-selector coil, and this has me befuddled.

Hi don awesome build big thumbs up 👍. How did you assemble the probe do you have some tube slid in between the brass tubing or did you just make end caps to keep the inner and outer brass tube separate, cheers 🍻 mate

The stand alone probe really works very well Don, witch of the two versions do you like the best?

Hi Don, I'm trying to figure out how this probe is different than the probe with the metal case? Is there a video, diagram or any other info on this one? Thanks.

Don, Is there anyway you eliminate having to change the impedance all the time for Low &High scale. Could you use resistor and a capacitor in series inside the the front tube?
