Got so many free dvds and Blu-ray’s through them. RIP (edit) just checked and had 400 points you can get a mystery dvd for 350 points. Just ordered one. Get your orders in!
I received an email. I never liked their pricing. Pay full $39.99 for the first 4k disc even when they offered 1/2 price offers, you had pay full price for the first disc in your order.
normally, that is a problem, unless you can save up and buy multiple at the same time. In the case of Disney’s 4K steel books for Disney+ shows I was able to get both seasons of the Mandalorian, season one of Loki, and WandaVision on pre-order with the exclusive lithographs for just under $100
Bad news everybody. I just tried to sign up and Disney is no longer accepting new sign-ups. I called them direct to verify. I'm assuming you can still get movies if you already have an account setup though. Unfortunately for the rest of us, it seems our only option is to buy from a retail store, a resell-it shop, or sign up for Disney+ (possibly screen record on PC then cancel if you want to burn to blank Blu-ray disc.)
This is sad because if they shut down Disney plus then we won't even get any of these movies so they need to rethink what they are doing for physical media all through out
I found this fascinating. Most people I know have abandoned streaming and have gone to piracy so hopefully physical media can find of the resurgence even as a collector's format. Fingers crossed!
Well at least at the moment, Disney is still releasing 3D in Japan. I recently pre-ordered The Marvels. I'm always expecting their latest release to be their last but so far so good. I'm sure this will end soon too.
I tried restarting my membership I had a long time ago. Unfortunately, they are not taking new members anymore. Maybe Sony can restart their movie club? We will have to see what happens in the future.
Seeing as Sony will be doing the disc distributions going forward, hopefully it means many of their older live action movies will be more available and not stuck behind a US paywall.
@@JeffRauseo there’s reports now that Sony will be taking over all decisions on the catalog physical media releases as part of the deal they inked. So sony has access to all 20th century fox stuff
I once had Disney Movie Club a decade ago when they had animated series like The Weekenders and Kim Possible exclusively on DVD. I haven’t had them in several years, since they became the next Columbia House with their plans, but hopefully there will be other DVD and Blu Ray distributors who would take on physical Disney releases and add bonus features to Blu Rays, since Disney has been lacking bonus features lately! Also I just heard that Disney is shutting down their physical movie publishing business, which is more shocking, but as long as Sony Entertainment continues to produce Disney DVDs and blu rays and include bonus features, that’s actually a good thing for collectors!
Are they not letting people sign up at all because of this now? Even though they’ll be available until May? I tried to sign up to get a few titles and it won’t even let me sign up it seems like
Sadly I went to sign up for Disney Movie club and customer service said they are no longer offering new membership to sign up since they are closing in July. I wish I could buy some Disney movies I guess I’ll have to wait for eBay sadly to buy classics like moms got a date with a vampire, phantom of megaplex.
Almost half of the movie industry owned by Disney. Was this planned in order to get rid of physical Disc? They already established streaming channel. Now they can stop producing physical disc, since most of the movies are made by them.
I can't be the only person who wants a 4K of Swiss Family Robinson or some of the other live action classics. Or Blu-Rays of some of the 50s 60s live action classics.
according to some people i saw on twitter you can't sign up for the club anymore. really sad news for sure. i have saved over $500 over the last few years through the club. i just picked up the last 3 seasons of once upon a time and i have about 8 movies sitting in my cart for next week
Disney is all in on Disney+. I just hope they allow their catalog to be licensed out to boutique labels. We got it with Wall-E/Criterion so hopefully they'll let others experiment.
And Wall-E was it. Disney worked with Kino, but Kino hated working with them. Disney only allowed a package deal of the same titles Mill Creek put out. When the license expired, Kino decided not to renew. Ditto for the ABC titles.
I don’t know how many I’ll be able to afford to buy before dmc shuts down. I read somewhere that Disney is doing a deal with sony for physical media distribution. I’m hoping the dmc exclusives will get retail release after dmc closes
I mainly knew about the Disney Movie Club as the one way to get Cars on VHS. I was never particularly familiar with the service but it is a shame to see it go.
Physical media is dying, slowly. We just have to live with it, but personally I have stopped collecting physical due to space restrictions. I would rather have them purchased through download.
So if I'm currently a member, but I have only bought 1/5 movies to finish the agreement, and I don't finish before they shit down, am I let go or are they just gonna charge me.
I think that if they’re really leaning towards going all digital they should implement a Kaleidescape type of tier to Disney+ (Maybe all streaming platforms should consider this). Streaming is one thing, but being able to download a high fidelity version of any movie and play it back on a proprietary piece of hardware maybe would be the next best thing. That is, if there isn’t any other way they could prevent copyright. I fully embraced streaming when it was up and coming but it has gotten out of control. I knew it was going downhill when entire movies and TV shows started to disappear from platforms. Thats what prompted my personal resurgence for physical media. I’m even getting into archiving legacy media because it feels very important to me. Why don’t these large media companies have a public discourse about these topics? It’s maddening.
This is sad news. I signed up with their program, to catch up on films I missed. Including my MCU collection. 😔 Sometimes they even offered better deals versus big retail stores. Just a bummer this option is being let go. What also does not help, is that major retail only carries so many copies of movies. Once its gone, it is gone. Disney Movie Club thankfully was an extra option. Sigh. Seriously wish they could keep it active. What also hurts is the price of 4k keeps climbing 🤦
I am from El Salvador and have a collection of about 500 blurays more or less.... Been procrastinating on getting the Disney bluray exclusives for a long time mainly because DMC won't accept international orders and won't deliver to freight forwarders (I use one located in Miami to bring all my purchases to El Salvador)... Is there a way to get someone to buy them for me and then reship them to my forwarder? I would pay this person through paypal. I would love to be able to get them without risk of getting scammed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Shocker! I have been member for many years, even though I don't order much from them. To save money, you have to buy multiple titles at once since you have to pay full price for first title and it is usually marked up. I pre-ordered the Cameron movies last month, whic is first time ordering from them in 4 yrs.
I'm trying to create an account on Disney Movie Club. I created a Disney account (I had to) and I go to the Disney Movie Club sign in page and it's not working. They said there would be a membership code but I'm not seeing one. How can I sign in to Disney Movie Club, and how can I sign in if the sign in website doesn't even recognize my Disney account? Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.
For the commitment titles you have to purchase you do NOT have to fulfill it. DMC says in their release that as of the 20th of February all commitments are fulfilled. I was a member years ago and then decided to jump back in when I heard a rumor they may close up from an insider friend of mine. I signed up on the 12 of February for my 4 titles for $1

There’s a streaming war between Warner, Apple,Amazon and Disney, and Netflix. If Disney wants to stay in the game they gotta leave the losses behind and concentrate on what’s a growing industry which is streaming. To be relevant and keep the company surviving they got to bet on streaming or something will take their share of the market. I’m sure one day if physical media becomes king again they can pivot pretty easily.
Heu, I'm I blind because I don't see the "Disney Movie Club" link in the description? You also have lot's of link that is still mentioning Films At Home instead of your name 🙂
Well, as you probably already know, Disney is in the process of transitioning its physical media distribution to Sony. It’s unfortunate that the Disney club is shutting down, but at least Sony Entertainment is much better equipped to handle physical media authoring and has been known to have higher quality control in terms of production. Maybe we’ll now see more titles from Twentieth Century Studios released in 4K Blu-ray.
When you realize just how much Disney has control over it is absolutely mind blowing the genuine lack of quality content on their streaming platform there is. They keep making decisions that suggest they’re just trying to get everyone to use their app instead of buying physical media, but there’s literally nothing to watch on that app unless you’re a child or love marvel 🤮

Got so many free dvds and Blu-ray’s through them. RIP (edit) just checked and had 400 points you can get a mystery dvd for 350 points. Just ordered one. Get your orders in!
Not trying to be rude but you’re talking about Disney Movie Insiders he’s talking about Disney movie club. They’re are two different things.
Oooo you’re right lol
Different, but ship from the same warehouse. After May when DMC closes maybe their unsold stock will be given away on Disney Movie Insiders.
I ran into the same problem. There are a bunch of movies I wanted to get. 😢
I’m a member and didn’t get any email. Frankly, I’m done with them. They were never that great. Good riddance.
I still have not met my commitment yet. I need to buy 5 more movies. I have a few upcoming movies pre order such as The Abyss 4K, and Aliens.
I dont pay for any streaming and anything that doesnt get a physical release gets pirated!
I just logged into my account to order some movies and saw this notice! I was shocked. I am going to order as much as I can before they shut down now.
Well at least at the moment, Disney is still releasing 3D in Japan. I recently pre-ordered The Marvels. I'm always expecting their latest release to be their last but so far so good. I'm sure this will end soon too.
Is Disney letting newbies sign up at this point or are only existing members allowed to log on?
I'm trying on the site and haven't figured it out
I tried restarting my membership I had a long time ago. Unfortunately, they are not taking new members anymore. Maybe Sony can restart their movie club? We will have to see what happens in the future.
Bring back films at home 😢
365 at home!
Seeing as Sony will be doing the disc distributions going forward, hopefully it means many of their older live action movies will be more available and not stuck behind a US paywall.
I found out when I tried to open the app and it has a message saying that it had been sunsetted.
Sonys taking over ALL physical media that Disney owns. This is the best news in a while
Maybe. Lots to be seen there. Certainly good for what Disney does release, but they likely still get to decide what to release.
@@JeffRauseo there’s reports now that Sony will be taking over all decisions on the catalog physical media releases as part of the deal they inked. So sony has access to all 20th century fox stuff
I actually just received an email today about DMC closing. They give you till mid May to still order and accounts close in July.
It shut down in Canada back in October too.
I just saw an article, Disney is outsourcing physical media production to Sony.
Are they not letting people sign up at all because of this now? Even though they’ll be available until May? I tried to sign up to get a few titles and it won’t even let me sign up it seems like
Is disney will also stop selling physical media in stores?
Sadly I went to sign up for Disney Movie club and customer service said they are no longer offering new membership to sign up since they are closing in July. I wish I could buy some Disney movies I guess I’ll have to wait for eBay sadly to buy classics like moms got a date with a vampire, phantom of megaplex.
Jeff in the last 50 videos: Ignore the haters. Ignore the media. PHYSICAL MEDIA ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE!
Jeff today: this is another nail in the coffin!
Almost half of the movie industry owned by Disney. Was this planned in order to get rid of physical Disc? They already established streaming channel. Now they can stop producing physical disc, since most of the movies are made by them.
I thought the talk in last few months was that Disney was going to invest in more physical media?
I can't be the only person who wants a 4K of Swiss Family Robinson or some of the other live action classics. Or Blu-Rays of some of the 50s 60s live action classics.
Black Beards Ghost and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea are on the top of my list.
according to some people i saw on twitter you can't sign up for the club anymore. really sad news for sure. i have saved over $500 over the last few years through the club. i just picked up the last 3 seasons of once upon a time and i have about 8 movies sitting in my cart for next week
Disney is all in on Disney+. I just hope they allow their catalog to be licensed out to boutique labels. We got it with Wall-E/Criterion so hopefully they'll let others experiment.
They won’t lol
And Wall-E was it. Disney worked with Kino, but Kino hated working with them. Disney only allowed a package deal of the same titles Mill Creek put out. When the license expired, Kino decided not to renew. Ditto for the ABC titles.
I don’t know how many I’ll be able to afford to buy before dmc shuts down.
I read somewhere that Disney is doing a deal with sony for physical media distribution.
I’m hoping the dmc exclusives will get retail release after dmc closes
Can you still get DMC until May? I didn’t see an option. If you have a link please post it
I just got into DMC LAST YEAR!!! Damn it.
So are they taking new members? I can’t seem to join or see what it would take?
It’s probably a mess right now. If you can’t sign up, find a friend who has it!
Would those shows be available on Disney+?
So if I'm currently a member, but I have only bought 1/5 movies to finish the agreement, and I don't finish before they shit down, am I let go or are they just gonna charge me.
I joined, got the movies I needed, got charged for some I didn’t need, but then cancelled my membership. Seemed too expensive for the long run.
The Disney Vault should have a huge online garage sale. Because what is actually left in it?
This is sad news. I signed up with their program, to catch up on films I missed. Including my MCU collection. 😔
Sometimes they even offered better deals versus big retail stores.
Never joined the Club but found The Mighty Ducks Trilogy & both Honey I Shrunk the Kid movies on ebay that were the ones from the movie club 😀
I signed up on the 12 of February for my 4 titles for $1
Disney gate keeps their movies, so I’m guessing it will be impossible to get them physically soon
I got my email on this this afternoon. I am very sad about this. 😢
You can’t buy from Disney Movie Club, but you can buy from sellers on Whatnot! Get a FREE $15 credit when you use my link: whatnot.com/invite/jeffrauseo
I believe Sony has done a deal to take over their physical media catalog
I just placed an order for my last 4 disney movie club blu-rays, so sad to see it shutting down :(
Heu, I'm I blind because I don't see the "Disney Movie Club" link in the description?
Marvel is gor manchildren
