Haha yea, first time in karts with 'boost' so forgot all about it until about 3/4 into this session. This was also the second day since Farnborough refurbed with the new track and karts and its was crazy slippery downstairs so took me a while to find a rhythm. I ended up using boost consistently in later sessions after the 'S' turns upstairs (1:15) and it seemed to set up nicely for the fast 2nd to last turn. Will experiment a bit in future sessions when it's also hopefully slightly grippier!
@@russdriving Seems like a really good strategy, Im pretty sure the second to last corner is about the only place with enough grip at the moment. Let's hope it rubbers in quickly! What do you think about the new karts?
@@benobwon229 Yea definitely, I was managing to keep it flat round that turn, no lift at all if you get a good entry. Yea I like them, good torque low down so it's a nice steady acceleration... boost button adds a lot too, looking forward to trying it in some races as overtaking was so hard in the old karts with the old track layout. They are super unforgiving if you hit the throttle while still on the brake at all though, aggressively cuts power. Not that you should ever do that ;) just noticed how quickly it cuts power.
Have been karting a lot here the last few weeks, the bottom part of the track is starting to wear in nicely now, its better at end of day though. Ive been experimenting with when to hit the boost, I found if you hit on the down ramp its effective but you gotta nail the turn at the bottom, or if you hit it at the start of the straight upstairs it can carry you through into the down ramp (which for me set my best lap time). Fun track though and nice karts

You didn’t use boost? Gotta do it down the ramp!
