I think people forgot what she went through while dating Prince William. She was followed by photographers, had her face plastered on the side of a bus calling her waitie Katie and even had photos taken where she should have been ensured privacy topless. All she asked was for privacy and time to heal. As a woman I understand those feelings. What would take an average woman time to heal will tame her longer since she is in the public eye and wearing heals constantly. After my own abdominal surgery I couldn’t stand up straight for weeks. So give her a break.please.
Why doesn't the royal family get rid of their separate press offices and combine them into one office, with a strict policy that there will be no promotion of one royal at the expense of another? The Prince and Princess of Wales release family photos regularly for Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, Christmas; they are always candid and sweet. I fully understand Princess Catherine of Wales wanting total privacy anout her surgery and recovery! Since the minute she and PW got engaged , she has openly shared her family with the public. She has been very gracious about that! The most privacy she jas enjoyed has been family vacation wirh RF once a year!! Its actually sad that it took this surgical event for her to attempt some peivate time to be with her family without the public peeking in the windows. The Palace let us know she was having surgery and would not be fulfilling duties until around Easter. That is enough!! Let her have this bit of privacy! If she ever wants to share more she will. Why would her health status be your business? Are you directly related to her, or her best friend? Has she previously confided in you about her private life but hasn't on this occasion? I kept waiting to hear something of value from this reporter, but never heard it. So I am going back to the beginning, which hasn't been done by any reporters, including this one. We were told we wouldn't see Kate until around Easter and that regular updates on her health would not be provided. I hope we see Kate, looking beautiful as ever, going to church on Easter with the rest of the RF. That will mean everything we were told in the beginning was the truth. So, had the media remembered that information instead of making all the crazy speculations about the reason Prince William backed out of his godfather's funeral at the last minute, everything that has happened since that day wouldn't have happened. I still trust the RF as much as I ever did. It is the media that, once again, I do not trust. Also, I think it is ridiculous that at this point in Kate's recovery people think she wouldn't be able to sit at a desk and do some photo editing. She hasn't been in bed 24/7 since leaving the hospital. She has probably been doing increasingly involved tasks around the house which are helping to build up her strength so she will be ready to resume a normal schedule. Apparently, the media is so perfect that none of them has ever recovered from major surgery, so they don't know how the process works. SMH!!!

The RF sent an official birthday post for Catherine. They sent it to The Princess of Wales, maybe you were following something under Kate Middleton which is not her name. When I was living in the UK, The media coverage of Meghan Markle was Overly Positive and overly Sugary sweet , because they wanted to appear as “liberal, progressive and ‘not racist’ “. This was in direct contrast to their previous coverage of Kate Middleton who was only 18 at the time and dating a Prince and she was considered as “fair game” by the media who hounded her and ridiculed her and her mother constantly, because she was white British and upper middle class, there was no worry about being labelled as “racist” or “non-liberal “, so there were openly bullying her. If this little girl in the video above thinks that Meghan was treated worse than Kate , then she doesn’t know what’s what ….. she needs to stay in the Uk .
It seems likely to me that she has had an abdominal hysterectomy which takes around 8 weeks to recover from, and then there is a lot of emotional fall out from such a procedure so everyone should just leave her alone and let her come to terms with what's happened. The royal family have very private lives that are kept away from the public. The so called fish bowl side of things relates to their public engagements. Those public engagements are analyzed, critisized, admired etc. Once they complete those public engagements they retreat into their public lives. The public is obssessed with Catherine and used to seeing her attend 3 to 4 engagements a week. When she had her surgery Kensington Palace made it clear that she would resume public engagements AFTER Easter. They also made it clear that there would be no running updates. When she left the hospital Kensington Palace announced that and said she was progressing well. The issue that the Media in particular had was that they were DENIED a photo of a very sick Catherine leaving hospital. They have been denied a photo of Catherine recovering in her home . Catherines home is her private space and NO one has automatic access to it. Why did people want to see a photo of someone in a vulnerable state??

Thank you so much, Ellie, for this sensible well researched interview. I have nothing against William and Kate or even King Charles. I am an American with huge over 90% English DNA. I visit, and have done so for about 25 years, London each year, buying for my antique business, and some of my closest friends are English. I have been so concerned about the level of absolute hatred generated on Harry and Meghan, and even more so about the hatred and manipulated press stories about Meghan. It seems that, in the eyes of so many British talk show videos on you tube, that Harry and Meghan are made out to be responsible for most of the ills of the world, so to speak, while William and Kate have held up to be the angels of the realm, Yes , I read Spare, and also listened to the audio, and all of this press manipulation just gives more credence to what Harry said about the Royal Rota and how they failed to protect him and his wife from stories that were not true, and how he feels that salacious stories were fed to the media about him and Meghan from the press offices of William, and or Camilla. All of this hatred and cyber bullying against them has really concerned me. A good example is the mockery of the "car chase," in Manhattan. Harry and Megan never said it was a high speed car chase; they just said it was dangerous to them and the pedestrians on the sidewalks. The Sussexes were so cruelly mocked over their press release, but now we have learned, through UK court documents, that the NYPD department has released statements saying that the situation was indeed dangerous to Harry and Meghan and their police officers, and that in future they would insure greater protection for the couple when they returned to NYC. That is just one example. Harry and Meghan's pregnancy photo has even been brought into the discussion with stories that their photo was also photoshopped. The professional photographer who took that photo has quickly put an end to that by releasing the original photo showing that all that was done was changing the original photo from color to black and white. Of course this is something as you say here that Kensington Palace hasn't done. I think this all makes one wonder what is going on in the British Press. Harry and Meghan have constantly been abused and mocked for, "trashing their family," but the rage always only seems to be about their publicly telling their story and what happened to them, and not the fact that what has happened to them may be the result of some wrongdoing. hmmm. I think years ago 2015-16) I worked with this reporter (an assistant to my brilliant colleague, film maker. The film -Equal Means Equal- about the passage of the Equal Right Amendment. The film was made by a brilliant colleague Kamala Lopez on a shoestring. Lopez raised all the money herself a few dollars at a time. I appeared in the film briefly representing my work with incarcerated girls. Perhaps the public here is not fully informed, but Hall's f coverage of Catherine, Princess of Wales (not Kate Middleton) is disturbingly unfair and cruel to a woman who may be extremely ill. This is not gender equity or any wave of feminism. To me is a thinly veiled hit piece. You can look up the film-it won Michael Moore's best documentary that year. I understand the issues.

Kate was not treated better and more favourably than Megan by UK press and Royal family before her marriage and after as a member of the royal family. Megan was treated better during courting days than Kate. Megan was treated very well by all during wedding proceedings, despite the drama with her family. Megan attracted negative reporting soon after the wedding due to her character and attitude (domineering, controlling, demanding, agressive-ambitious, presenting as sweet & nice in public while being arrogant and narcissistic and over-competitive in her private day-to-day interactions). She appeared more and more as a person who must dominate and control both people and situations - single-minded and disrespectful of the royal family's internal dynamics, and organisational policies and protocols, also disrespectul of and cruel with her sick father and dismissive of all family members except her mother. Regarding Kate's current situation - she has every reason to sue all media, who have reported on her since her hospitalisation, for the extreme abuse of her privacy during her serious health crisis. Regarding the published photo of Kate and kids and media's viscious critics of the photo editing - it is the lowest kick below the belt to Kate, who is still recovering from her illness and wanting to keep her privacy and who only wanted to send one happy photo of self and her kids to wish all mothers happy mother's day. There is nothing sinister behind Kate's amateurish editing of that photo she published on her instagram. The problem is that the UK and global media got upset when they realised that photo did not meet their minimum technical standards for publishing - so, in order not to miss such a huge income opportunitythey, the media found a way around it by printing various stories of Kate's published photo being evidence of the royal family's and Kate's cover up of the true reasons for Kate's absence. This all speaks of a serious coordinated media attack on the royal family by UK antimonarchists, supported by USA as William recently issued his plea for immediate end of conflict in Gaza and work on resolutions at a negotiating table.

Prior to her surgery they informed the public she would not be available until around Easter. If it was almost 3 months after Easter I could understand the up roar but this is ridiculous to demand she make an appearance while she conveleses from major surgery. I don't see any reason why Kate should not be firing up Photoshop. She has been an enthusiastic amateur photographer for some years, and the camera and lens used had a combined cost of 5000 UK pounds, so not exactly beginner stuff. Catherine edited the photo taken by William and apologised. For some reason you don't seem to want to give her credit for apologizing and not throwing her team under the bus. I kept waiting to hear something of value from this reporter, but never heard it. So I am going back to the beginning, which hasn't been done by any reporters, including this one. We were told we wouldn't see Kate until around Easter and that regular updates on her health would not be provided. I hope we see Kate, looking beautiful as ever, going to church on Easter with the rest of the RF. That will mean everything we were told in the beginning was the truth. So, had the media remembered that information instead of making all the crazy speculations about the reason Prince William backed out of his godfather's funeral at the last minute, everything that has happened since that day wouldn't have happened. I still trust the RF as much as I ever did. It is the media that, once again, I do not trust.
Also, I think it is ridiculous that at this point in Kate's recovery people think she wouldn't be able to sit at a desk and do some photo editing. She hasn't been in bed 24/7 since leaving the hospital. She has probably been doing increasingly involved tasks around the house which are helping to build up her strength so she will be ready to resume a normal schedule. Apparently, the media is so perfect that none of them has ever recovered from major surgery, so they don't know how the process works. SMH!!!

I have to disagree that Catherine never had any issues with the media…‘Waite Katie’, she was mocked in media for public speaking, her outfits and taking maternity leave. The royal family have very private lives that are kept away from the public. The so called fish bowl side of things relates to their public engagements. Those public engagements are analyzed, critisized, admired etc. Once they complete those public engagements they retreat into their public lives. The public is obssessed with Catherine and used to seeing her attend 3 to 4 engagements a week. When she had her surgery Kensington Palace made it clear that she would resume public engagements AFTER Easter. They also made it clear that there would be no running updates. When she left the hospital Kensington Palace announced that and said she was progressing well.
The issue that the Media in particular had was that they were DENIED a photo of a very sick Catherine leaving hospital. They have been denied a photo of Catherine recovering in her home . Catherines home is her private space and NO one has automatic access to it. Why did people want to see a photo of someone in a vulnerable state??

Thank you so much, Ellie, for this sensible well researched interview. I have nothing against William and Kate or even King Charles. I am an American with huge over 90% English DNA. I visit, and have done so for about 25 years, London each year, buying for my antique business, and some of my closest friends are English. I have been so concerned about the level of absolute hatred generated on Harry and Meghan, and even more so about the hatred and manipulated press stories about Meghan. It seems that, in the eyes of so many British talk show videos on you tube, that Harry and Meghan are made out to be responsible for most of the ills of the world, so to speak, while William and Kate have held up to be the angels of the realm, Yes , I read Spare, and also listened to the audio, and all of this press manipulation just gives more credence to what Harry said about the Royal Rota and how they failed to protect him and his wife from stories that were not true, and how he feels that salacious stories were fed to the media about him and Meghan from the press offices of William, and or Camilla. All of this hatred and cyber bullying against them has really concerned me. A good example is the mockery of the "car chase," in Manhattan. Harry and Megan never said it was a high speed car chase; they just said it was dangerous to them and the pedestrians on the sidewalks. The Sussexes were so cruelly mocked over their press release, but now we have learned, through UK court documents, that the NYPD department has released statements saying that the situation was indeed dangerous to Harry and Meghan and their police officers, and that in future they would insure greater protection for the couple when they returned to NYC. That is just one example. Harry and Meghan's pregnancy photo has even been brought into the discussion with stories that their photo was also photoshopped. The professional photographer who took that photo has quickly put an end to that by releasing the original photo showing that all that was done was changing the original photo from color to black and white. Of course this is something as you say here that Kensington Palace hasn't done. I think this all makes one wonder what is going on in the British Press. Harry and Meghan have constantly been abused and mocked for, "trashing their family," but the rage always only seems to be about their publicly telling their story and what happened to them, and not the fact that what has happened to them may be the result of some wrongdoing. The film was made by a brilliant colleague Kamala Lopez on a shoestring. Lopez raised all the money herself a few dollars at a time. I appeared in the film briefly representing my work with incarcerated girls. Perhaps the public here is not fully informed, but Hall's f coverage of Catherine, Princess of Wales (not Kate Middleton) is disturbingly unfair and cruel to a woman who may be extremely ill. This is not gender equity or any wave of feminism. To me is a thinly veiled hit piece. You can look up the film-it won Michael Moore's best documentary that year. I understand the issues.

Kate was not treated better and more favourably than Megan by UK press and Royal family before her marriage and after as a member of the royal family. Megan was treated better during courting days than Kate. Megan was treated very well by all during wedding proceedings, despite the drama with her family. Megan attracted negative reporting soon after the wedding due to her character and attitude (domineering, controlling, demanding, agressive-ambitious, presenting as sweet & nice in public while being arrogant and narcissistic and over-competitive in her private day-to-day interactions). She appeared more and more as a person who must dominate and control both people and situations - single-minded and disrespectful of the royal family's internal dynamics, and organisational policies and protocols, also disrespectul of and cruel with her sick father and dismissive of all family members except her mother.
Regarding Kate's current situation - she has every reason to sue all media, who have reported on her since her hospitalisation, for the extreme abuse of her privacy during her serious health crisis.

Regarding the published photo of Kate and kids and media's viscious critics of the photo editing - it is the lowest kick below the belt to Kate, who is still recovering from her illness and wanting to keep her privacy and who only wanted to send one happy photo of self and her kids to wish all mothers happy mother's day. There is nothing sinister behind Kate's amateurish editing of that photo she published on her instagram. The problem is that the UK and global media got upset when they realised that photo did not meet their minimum technical standards for publishing - so, in order not to miss such a huge income opportunitythey, the media found a way around it by printing various stories of Kate's published photo being evidence of the royal family's and Kate's cover up of the true reasons for Kate's absence.
This all speaks of a serious coordinated media attack on the royal family by UK antimonarchists, supported by USA as William recently issued his plea for immediate end of conflict in Gaza and work on resolutions at a negotiating table.

Catherine edited the photo taken by William and apologised. For some reason you don't seem to want to give her credit for apologizing and not throwing her team under the bus. The reason why I believe she edited the photo is because they were guarding their privacy. There is a tiny tiny circle of people who know what Catherine is recovering from. The more people allowed in the more likely that her condition would leak. To forestall that William took the photo. The meta data from the photo has confirmed the photo was taken last Friday at Adelaide cottage and that it was edited on Friday and Saturday morning. The meta data has also confirmed that the photo was not a mish mash of different photos from different occassions pulled together.

I think RUclips ultimately made the decision to remove Yankee Wally from their platform for violating the terms of usage. I do not necessarily agree with demonetizing and/or completely removing someone's content on RUclips unless it truly violates the platform's rules. As a private company, YouYube is certainly within its rights to set the rules and enforce them. However, I think it is quite interesting that RUclips chooses to target some RUclips channels over others. There is still harmful content on RUclips each day that is allowed to exist...in some cases spreading disinformation and hate until challenged by others to force RUclips to police itself. I've never watched the RUclips channel of Yankee Wally, a Welsh Pensioner in her late 60's named Sadie Quinlan, but I, as an American citizen, would absolutely defend her right to freedom of speech. It seems she may have ruffled a few feathers in royal circles with her speculation of the use of possible surrogates surrounding the births of the children of Harry and his wife which may have led to her channel's removal from RUclips. Ironically, many other channels have become popular in raising these same questions, although the content creators are wise to insert the word "allegedly" to avoid litigation.
