I'm surprised there's any left since that war ended 77 years ago and many of those guys were already at least 18 to 20 years old if not older by the time the war ended ... making many of the younger ones at least 95 to 97 years old . ( I'm sure there's some left who are a little bit younger but not many ) .
My dad fought in the South Pacific and I remember him telling me a story about being stuck on some horrible atoll Tarawa ... dead Japanese soldiers rotting and their skin , their faces feeling like mushy soap .
My brother told me that because of seeing maggots on dead corpses that's why my Dad could never eat rice and couldn't drink any red colored liquids because of all the bloodshed .
Although I do recall seeing him drinking a couple Bloody Marys .
He did not easily talk about these stories you had to pretty much beg him to tell you about the war .
I know that if my father knew what was going on in this country nowadays he would be saddened , sickened and broken hearted .
My Dad , if he was alive would be almost 104 . Rest in Peace Dad .
You were my hero , you were a great father , a wonderful human being , and a true patriot .

Mikhail Gorbachev is/was one of the most important world leaders of the past 77 years (since WWII). His policies of "glasnost" and "perestroika" and negotiations with other world leaders lead to the relatively peaceful end of the iron curtain which also led to the tearing down of the Berlin wall. Also it led to the breakup of the Soviet Union, for which he is both applauded and despised, depending on your perspective (In the USA and most of Europe it was seen as huge relief after decades of "cold war"). I remember pretty much "knowing" that a nuclear WWIII would happen in my lifetime and were were all basically doomed, but what Gorbachev did really changed things for the better. Unfortunately, Putin and his followers are now threatening to undo those 33 years of relative peace and f*ck it all up again. Putin has become the Adolph Hitler of the 21st century, and we need John J. Rambo to go in there and put a bullet through his head. RIP Mikhail Gorbachev sir, and I hope people will remember you for all the good you did for this world.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Dirty Dozen, Paint Your Wagon, Cat Ballou, M Squad on Tv in the 1950s, and other ones I may have missed. Loved Wheezy on Sanford and son, John Huston movies, and Ingrid Bergman Movies too.

Couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that Charlbi told her NYC trainer 3 days before she died that the reason she had switched up her workouts is b/c she (Charlbi) had gotten vaccinated “ten days earlier” and was feeling a bit off.
