I remember flicking through the t.v bout 10 years ago and seeing 3 cushion billiards on Eurosport. At first, I didn't know what the Hell they were doing, but after watching for about 30 mins I got the concept and have loved it ever since. (watching it that is. I have never tried to play it)
Would someone please educates me the reason why switched hands to his opponent, right after he did such a great shot at 5:13? Perhaps, I’m lacked of understanding the professional billiard rules. Thank you. Oh! I understand it now. As it was explained by @aprendochino “The point in this case is scored when…, but before touching the last one your ball has to touch at least 3 cushions”. Wow! That’s kinda difficult to achieve though.
Shouldn't that bottom spot on the scoreboard keep count of how many proper contacts were made? The spot stayed at 0 the entire match. Sorry, I'm trying to learn.
Puzzling over the third shot at 2:00 - it looks like the cue ball hits two cushions, then the red ball, then...the other ball? Where is the third cushion hit? I can't see it even in slow motion
it actually hits the long rail again after hitting the red ball. the framerate and quality of the video make it hard to see but the cue/red balls wouldn't travel that way if he only hit the first 2 cushions
@@aaron-yoon Ah got it, thanks. Finally noticed it at 0.25x speed. Which also cleared up a decades-long conundrum - the draw shot in "Donald in Mathmagic Land." Always thought that was a 2-cushion shot, until I played it back reeeal slow and noticed the third bounce and subtle change in direction.
@@djnak7856 you're welcome. it's something you pick up when playing for fun having to referee your own games. knowing ball pathing and common shots is often easier than counting rails.
Shit man, I was wondering the same thing, then I saw your comment and the reply, checked the replay and there it was, fucking crazy. But it hit two cushions, then the ball, then the cushion again, then the last ball. So I'm guessing the cue ball just has to hit three cushions before hitting the second ball, it doesn't matter what order tho right? As longs as the cue ball hits three cushions and the red before the cue ball hits the yellow, no matter what order?
This is Billiards ! Anyone can put a ball in a pocket (Pool or Snooker, what's the difference ?) But make a SINGLE three cushion, takes 5-10 or even more attempts even for the best snooker players, I would argue !
Each player has one own queue-ball. And then there is the neural ball. The aim is to, with your own ball, hit both the two others (your opponents and the neutral one, the order doesn't matter) - but before hitting the second one, the queue-ball must touch three cushions. Then you have scored a point. The queue-ball can sometimes hit one and the same cushion twice (without having touched another cushion or a ball , just by extreme screw) ! Hope this helped !
@@Luffi98 I agree, OP's statement is a huge stretch. Every discipline pushes it's own boundaries to it's limits. Also Efren was already a good 3cushion player in the past, and it shows.
I think the world record is held by Eddy Merckx, 50 points in 6 innings. Of course I’m not saying this to undermine Dani’s great performance, in any way. Just useful info on how much the game has evolved.
NightWatchmanState World record is 40 points in 4 innings performed by Dick Jaspers. Anyway, world 4 top players make great history in carom billiard matches.
Iniciando el video uno piensa, y esos tipos de la mesa de al lado, que se creen??? porque no paran y ven esa demostración de billar?.... Después uno se da cuenta que no es casi nadie el que juega en la mesa de al lado.
I tried it for the first time tonight.. boring in some ways, but the payoff for success is pretty great, considering the challenge. Probably only made 8 points in over an hour of trying, but they're so satisfying.

Watch Semih Sayginer. He is the master, Efren Reyes kinda.
Unbelievable , simplicity in rules and complications in skills.
This game might work on tv, with a shot clock, periods/quarters of play & with a timed ending: biggest score over 60 minutes, say...
Gezzz I would be damn lucky to win a race to 3.
My first experience with billiards. Amazing.

I remember to have an old vhs with a very young Daniel Sanchez, and I immediately sayd: This will be the next world champion.
very low resolution

Joe rogan brought me here
Same. Looks odd without the pockets but I feel like just smashing it every time would be relatively effective
Same same. Wtf am I watching?
😂😂😂same here this shit is crazy
Cool. His pool video with Lennox Lewis I presume?
guilty plus i wanted to see how many keys it took to press to see it pop up in the suggestions

I should have written "at least three cushions"
I think you’re get abit too excited there.
It's true that three cushions is one of the hardest variations of billiards, but thats a pretty bold statement, check Effren or O'Sullivan

how are the points scored? Why bouterin has three points at 6:18 even though he didn't do a single valid shot?
@Ivory Leyva Thank you very much, now I understand

how can something be so technically impressive and so boring at the same time?
How can a game this skillful be regarded as "boring"?

da la casualidad que la mesa de al lado juega nada mas i nada menos que el numero uno; frederic caudron.
Is this guy supposed to be good?
Hell, it 38 minutes he couldn't pocket a single ball.
Pues nada raro.
2:02 quite hard to see the 3 cushions here - I guess the referee is more used to this type of shot
I thought the same thing. I guess it hit the rail again after it hit the red. Doesn't look like it in the video though.
What the... What?
BoldCautionProductions you’ve never seen 3 cushion billiards before?
como puede haber imbeciles a los que no les gusten 40 carambolas en 7 entradas?
¿ Y qué tal si prefieren un mejor ángulo de cámara, mejor definición de video, mejor audio, mejor score, entre otras cosas?
this is so boreing>>>>>>
