    the problem is, that dana white and the ufc dont pay enough for guys to want to disregard friendships. so for dana to say this aint the sport for you, reality is, it is not a sport for the top in the world. it is a sport of longevity. the top few guys just keep beating one another and demolish the bottom...just keep rotating and the fighters are cool with that. ufc will be in trouble soon. example being porier he let gaethje win with all due respect-and afterwards porier said he already won in life. even porier will only truly fight against an enemy. Him and gaethje are friends.

    the UFC should give up the fight against piracy imo. I feel its a lose lose situation. They cant stop it and it costs them money, BUT lets just say somehow some way they were able to make it where no streaming site for UFC could get a stream going at all, i honestly think their would be a decline in the sport. Dana vastly underestimates illegal streaming's role in the growth of the sport and his brand / company. It has literally helped the ufc overall more than hurt it. And if that happened, the amount of stream watchers that would be converted to ppv buyers would be minimal. Personally i think the PPV model is kinda cool but in reality the best thing they could do is get away from that. You have to be able to watch most of the ppvs to truly follow and be a hardcore fan of the sport but the amount of ppl that are going to pay for espn+ and then 80 bucks a pop for a ppv are few and far between. A sport can only grow so much when only rich ppl have access to it lmao.

      Aljo deserves a rematch, anyone saying otherwise is just straight up racist like that NJ crowd majority was. All champion fighers like Aljo who have made such a name for themselves were offered a rematch, if the UFC allow Suga Sean O'Malley to avoid rematching it just shows they might also be on that racism mentality like new jersey is. As for Merab, an honest good friend, hard to come by now a days and the fact some of u don't see that is absolutely insane. Your life must suck if you have no good intent friends around you like Merab. Merab doesn’t want to fight O’Malley. Chito, Cory, Sterling and Cejudo - there is no easy fights on this division.

  • @panspermiapancakes
    @panspermiapancakes Год назад +2

    Dana's stance about Merab isn't wrong, but there is a shit ton of irony in it.
    He doesn't want Merab as a champion to begin with due to his fight style, and he's never sent Merab a championship title contract. The moment Aljo lost the belt to Sean, he called out Chito. That is going to end up being the next title fight, so Merab (who is actually the number 2 contender behind Aljo) is going to be skipped for Chito Vera anyways. Dana doesn't care about rankings typically, he just throws in the guy he thinks will generate the most interest, so having Merab willingly not fight for the title is actually in Dana's interest for the time being. Dana is only pissed because Merab is calling his own shots. It's not as if Merab's career is actually on hold due to his stance, because Dana is going to skip him anyways.
    This could all go away if Aljo just moves up a division like he originally planned. Since he's no longer champ but still a high caliber fighter within the rankings, the best possible match up for him is Max Holloway. Aljo likes money, entice him to stick to the path he had originally chosen, but give him Max instead of Volk. If Aljo beats Max, he'll be in another position against Volk this time next year. If he doesn't move up a division, his best friend is going to possibly be fired from his job. It seems like a no-brainer.

    Aljo should move up to another division like he said he would.. Rematching O'Malley just to give up the belt anyway if he wins it back, he might as well do it now and stop holding Merab back unless he is willing to fight him. Just move on and let Merab mop up O'Malley.

He can’t beat Islam or Charles, but he’s beaten everyone else including the best fighter of the new generation of LW’s, Fiziev. How does no one else see this. Mark my words.
