Wow, simply wow. I love Joel and Fosse's film adaptation, but this is hauntingly beautiful, and not only breathtaking but unnervingly more true to the character and message I think was originally meant, and has since then been diluted. How brave, and how talented those involved in this are and what a gift. ❤

What a radically different opening to this show. Interesting directorial choice.

Beautiful stage design makes me think the stage director was referencing the great silent German Expressionist films like Dr. Caligari and Metropolis - exact time period

Boston Conservatory at Berkleehas has done a very good job. They don't try to reach the masterpiece of Liza and Joel, they had the courage to invent the wheel again. and they have invented a new wheel.

This was OUTSTANDING!!! I loved the Fossesque choreography. As a former Fosse dancer in both Sweet Charity and Pippin, I thought It was brilliantly staged! Bob would've loved it.

you know... nothing about theatre? Every show has at least one official videography night. This was clearly a proshot set up in the exact seats I would give any archival videographer - top of the aisle in the back row; probably taking three seats, with room for the tripod and their bags/gear. The preshow announcement is the same every night and is addressing the audience, who is NOT allowed to take video themselves because everyone onstage has to have signed a consent form and been notified 24 hours beforehand when there is recording done, and all the design elements (wardrobe, makeup, sets, lighting, props, audio design, projections, &c.) are IP

Do wish directors would read the source material before putting on a production of Cabaret. There a couple of books and an autobiography by Christopher Isherwood. Most productions are heavily influenced by very Americanised film of the show.

It's so uninspiring to see how all these productions torture the same boring aesthetic for this piece. Proving, in no small way, that glitter can indeed cover shit, but not the smell.

Berlin in the 30's was very much ALL of this. It's based off a book detailing the true accounts of time spent there during that period. It's called "Good-bye to Berlin"
